Hello, all.
I went for WI this morning, and was disappointed with a maintain.
I just seem to be really stuck these last few weeks, despite keeping strictly to plan.
I asked my Consultant about doing a Fast Forward, but she said no, and I am to keep a food diary: I know I'm already doing everything right, though.
The only thing in the way this week is a family meet-up for a pub lunch on Saturday, and I will try to choose wisely from the menu.
I am going to a different group next week (same Consultant), so I have 9 days to see a result.
Today's stories from members up for the Mr Sleek and Miss Slinky awards were very inspiring, and more than a little moving, too: there were a few tears around the room.

Rastel38 · 31/10/2016 13:52

danny were all the slinky/slender members all slinky and slender? I've been nominated and dreading it as I'm definitely not slinky!! I'm still over 13 stone and don't really know what to say!

littlepooch · 31/10/2016 14:31

Hello all

I had my first weigh in and lost 4lbs. I am very pleased with that as apart from the longing for a chocolate biscuit I haven't felt hungry at all and feel like I've eaten really well. Menu planning for next week now, I want to keep trying new recipes so it doesn't feel like Groundhog Day and all a bit repetitive! Perhaps I need to buy a SW cookbook.

I couldn't stay to meeting as my DD isn't very well which is a shame as it looked really busy and people had brought lots of exciting things to try!

dannyglick · 31/10/2016 16:44

Rastel, no, the Miss Slinky nominees were not all slender.
There were 5 or 6 of them, and only 2 were at target: some of the others still want to lose another couple of stone.
They each said what had been the turning point to make them join SW( clothes not fitting, couldn't walk due to arthritis were a couple of things). Then they said how much they'd lost so far, and what it meant to them.
Congratulations on your nomination, and be proud of what you've achieved: we can all be guilty of thinking that we haven't done enough to deserve praise, but we do!

Rastel38 · 31/10/2016 17:50

Thanks, danny. You are right, it's easy to forget that!
I'm not the most confident of people so it's a bit daunting.

dannyglick · 31/10/2016 17:55

Rastel, the other nominees will probably be nervous, too, but you are among SW friends who all like celebrating others' success as well as their own.
Enjoy the group: bet you have a nice time.

ALemonyPea · 31/10/2016 18:15

Evening all, welcome newbies.

I've been nominated for Miss Slinky 😳I won't get it as much more popular people at group, but lovely to be nominated.

DC have been out trick or treating and have bought loads of goodies back with them. Must hide them from myself.

B: yoghurt, fruit, hifi bars
D: prawn and calamari salad
T: bacon and bean hot pot type thing

Blankiefan · 31/10/2016 20:09

Can I join please? And ask a question? And have a not-at-all stealth boast?

I'm seven weeks in and lost 4.5 pounds today taking me to 21.5 pounds. Yay me. (And it was DD's birthday this week so I really had to be good in the face of all the nice /rubbish food around!). So - yay

Anyway - I wanted to ask about plateaus. I keep expecting to plateau but solid losses every week - even with the odd meal out / treat here and there. I do still have 4.5 stone to lose so would expect to slow down at some point - but what's people's experience of weight loss slowing? When should I expect it?

and yay me

Ohdearducks · 31/10/2016 21:42

Only 1.5lbs loss for me this week, feeling very deflated after 7.5 last week. I've earn less overall this week and less speed foods so that's probably what's done it I suppose, been so tired and haven't had much fluids. Maybe I'm retaining water? Any way a loss is a loss I suppose so I'll carry on and see what happens next week. Well don those who've had losses this week and everyone else too we can do it!

Ohdearducks · 31/10/2016 21:42

Eaten less not earn less!

PositiveAttitude · 01/11/2016 08:07

Rastel I have also been nominated, and I have another 5 stone to lose, so don't worry!! I am getting a bit nervous about doing my "pitch" tonight. I will be telling people not to vote for me - but saying that I fully intend to be Miss Slinky for 2017 when I hope to have got nearer my target.
We only had one man in our group last week for his 3rd week on plan and hardly any of the men ever stay, so the Mr one could be interesting.

Sorry got to dash I am late for work.....

OwlinaTree · 01/11/2016 08:59

Hi guys, congrats on the nominations and losses. I've got weigh in tonight, I've stuck to it this week but feel really uninspired after only a 1/2lb loss last week. Hope I've done a bit better this week as I've paid for a countdown so will have to keep attending or lose the money!

Frouby · 01/11/2016 09:24

Hello all

Have had a better couple of days food wise. More or less on plan. Scales still being stubborn though and not reflecting my 2 days hardwork just the few days off plan.

Supposed to be wi tomorrow but am not going. If I see a gain I will be really pissed off and with everything else that is happening it might just push me over the edge lol. Might possibly go to a group Thursday night depending what the scales are showing. Its star week as well so that will be affecting things too.

Anyway today's plan.

B.coffer
L. Not sure. Possibly ham salad.
T. Special fried rice and Mayfair chicken curry, with stir fry veggies for speed. I also have a very nice looking apricot and almond tart in the fridge to try in anticipation of Christmas. So will probably have a small slice of that.

But it's strictly for research purposes and I definitely won't enjoy it so will be syn free.

emwithme · 01/11/2016 09:47

Definitely yay you Blankie - and there's really no reason to expect losses to slow until you get relatively near target, especially if you've got lots to lose. Is this your first time doing SW (or any "proper" weight loss thing)?

I've also been nominated for Miss Slinky...I'm really excited about it. Found out last night Grin (I could do with the boost at the moment, I am having the period from hell and feel all fat and spotty!)

Having an SP day today:

B: Overnight oats (HEB1) with quark
L: Butternut squash soup, beef (to nibble on because if I don't have a protein boost, I get hangry by 4.30 pm), apple, pear, satsumas
D: Salmon fillet with roasted courgette, peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes
HEA: Milk
HEB2: Apricots or hifi bars.

2.5 lbs to target. Not going to get there this week (thanks to delicious lunch out yesterday for DH's birthday and hideous period) but I feel good for how it's going to go. 3 weeks of countdown left...

ALemonyPea · 01/11/2016 16:19

I stayed the same, so bloody pissed off. That's only 1lb in two weeks that I've lost.

I'm so constipated, I'm in pain with it. Took some stuff at the weekend, and it didn't work. So have bought some different stuff and hope for the best. Only been to the toilet 3 times in two weeks.

I know I've lost as now wearing size 14 stuff, so not too concerned about the weight, just annoyed at my stupid body.

Didn't win Miss Slinky (and was very set my consultant forgot to say my name when she was sayign who was nominated) but the woman who won was very deserving. She is amazing and I voted for her, so pleased with that.

ninnypoo · 01/11/2016 18:03

I'm back after a week of making excuses and being a bit of a dick. Can't stop eating crap and sabotaging myself. Done a healthy food shop, gunna get weighed and cry tomorrow and then hopefully get my act together.

ALemonyPea · 01/11/2016 18:25

You can do it Ninny.

I've bought some scan bran, currently making a carrot cake with it. Anyone got any other recommended ideas?

dannyglick · 01/11/2016 19:01

Lemony, 1 Weetabix and 2 ScanBran is a HEB and is quite palatable with warm milk and some sweetener.
Or break them into soup( either homemade SW recipe or SW Iceland soup).

DooWhop · 01/11/2016 20:24

First WI lost 4lb. Happy with that!

DooWhop · 01/11/2016 20:26

Lemony how is tte carrot cake? My dd is a target member (I'm a non target member!) is it good?? It's her birthday Friday and her dad be request is carrot cake!

ALemonyPea · 01/11/2016 20:37

I don't like weetabix, but like the idea of putting it in soup.

Well done Doowhop. He carrot cake is not a proper carrot cake, so I'd not recommend it for a birthday, sadly. It's made with scan bran, so really any ingredients added are just to mask the crapness of scan bran 😁

AnnaForbes · 01/11/2016 22:25

I had scan bran with quark and smoked salmon. I think the strong flavour of the fish masked the awfulness of the scan bran and it was actually rather nice. Weigh in tomorrow - I'm hoping for 2 pounds. Need to lose 1 to get my stone award.

AnnaForbes · 01/11/2016 22:28

Lemony, I swear by senokot tablets. I find the unlimited eggs on sw can cause a bit of blockage.

OwlinaTree · 01/11/2016 22:38

Hi guys, lost 3lb tonight, my biggest loss yet! Very pleased as I have really struggled with it this week. One stone is in sight now, only 2.5lb to go. Theoretically I could do that next week, but I'm hoping I'll do it in 2 weeks' time. I wanted to lose a stone by Christmas, might manage one and a half at this rate!

Still haven't tried scan bran, I noticed it for sale at the group the other week, maybe I'll give it a try. Is it like weetabix? Or more like rivita?

OwlinaTree · 01/11/2016 22:51

I was slimmer of the week too!Star
