Xposts with Kitty who explains better than me!

OrianaBanana · 12/04/2016 19:09

With your toddler maybe add cheese and sides like garlic bread, add mayo, things like peanut butter as snacks?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 12/04/2016 19:49

Yay to all the losers.

Today have had breakfast omelette, fruit and Total 0%, pasta bake, yoghurt and cereal bars as HEB. Going to have baked spud for tea and am drinking wine.

Had meeting tonight and took a cereal bar so no biscuits. That is today's victory.

maygirl · 12/04/2016 20:01

Been very good this week too, it had better show up tomorrow at weigh in!

B weetabix HeB with grated Apple, cinnamon and heA milk.
L 1 ryvita 1.5 syn, salmon and dill light Philly 2 syns , 2 egg omelette, spinach, tomatoes, grapes, Orange
D risotto with fish pie mix, onion garlic and white wine (1 syn when decided into portions ) , 1 tbsp parmesan 1 syn, carrots and green beans for my third speed

Total 5.5 syns. Might have small glass wine after my dance class tonight seeing as its open! Will measure 5 syns worth if I do .

Buttwing · 12/04/2016 20:03

Hi signorita and welcome sounds like you've had a difficult time.

I try as much as possible to cook one meal for the family-me, dp and four kids. I give dp and the kids extras though as oriana said. So for example tonight it's been spaghetti bolognese tonight so I've put loads of extra veg in the sauce to get my third sped food in and also good for the kids, they've all had garlic bread and loads of grated cheese on theirs and I've not.
I try and keep the main part of the meal the same and then might do extras for the kids in a non sw way but to be fair with the extra cereals and bread they have plus treats its a really healthy diet for them too. They are all a healthy weight and all eat pretty much all of the sw meals I make.

eeyoredebbie · 12/04/2016 20:33

Hi, I started SW last Thursday (not had first weigh in yet!).

Been enjoying this thread and thanks for the recipes and tips.

What I want to ask is the method for frying eggs in fry light, a couple of pps say they have this nailed so what's the secret 😀

calzone · 12/04/2016 20:36

I have been soooooo good this week.

Stayed away from carbs......pasta, rice, etc.....only had a few SW potatoes on Sunday, stacks of speed food, mindful eating, 2 scan bran days plus a HEB of prunes on another day.

I really need the 2lb off tomorrow.......to target.

KittyOShea · 12/04/2016 20:42

Good luck Calzone!

WI for me too tomorrow.

I've had two flexible days today but have hopefully made up for it on the other days. Am hoping for 1 or 2lbs off

purpleporpoise · 12/04/2016 20:52

Hi can I join in please. I joined 2 weeks ago, so it's 2nd weigh in this week. It's gone a bit wonky as I've had a stomach bug for 3 days, and my birthday when I was off plan but didn't go mad. I'm hoping for 2lbs off but 3 would be fab as I lost 4 in my first week.
I last did SW in 1997 so it's changed a bit!
I'm not finding it too difficult, although I am eating a lot of eggs!

Gruffalosgrandma · 12/04/2016 21:18

You should lose more than 2 Calzone , hope you get to target.
My plumbing ,for medical reasons, can't cope with the large amounts of super free so I have resigned myself to a slow weight loss and will be happy to average 1lb each week.
Is it ok to save syns for the weekend?

calzone · 12/04/2016 21:44

Yes you can GG.

Some have 105 syns over the week, splurging 20 on one day and none the next.

Hi all - back to SW for me tonight after being away for 3 weeks. I maintained so I'm happy. Got 7 weeks until my next goal - a wedding.

OrianaBanana · 12/04/2016 21:58

Good luck calzone I'll be rooting for you!!

Signoritawhocansway · 12/04/2016 21:59

Oh thanks everyone for your comments. I will take tham on board. The main two reasons that I haven't joined a group are cost, and also I have only got a small amount to lose, and I'm not very large to begin with. If I ever mention to people that I'm trying to eat more healthily, I get laughed out of town.

Good idea about the one meal for everybody. I think I need to get into the swing of it again, as lunch has been salads (which toddler won't eat) and breakfast today was a fry up (which he won't eat either!). Tea was one meal together though.

I have got some sweet potato and chorizo soyp in the freezer; guess that may be a no no?

maygirl · 12/04/2016 22:17

JOIN FREE voucher in woman's own this week for anyone about to sign up. You just have to pay £4.95, the weekly fee, and would get the books and the new member chat.

Good luck Calzone and others Wednesday weighers !

Signoritawhocansway · 12/04/2016 22:32

Oh wow, maygirl thanks! I will get a copy. But do you think they would laugh a small person out? Maybe I'll send Dh instead...evil grin

EmilyK83 · 12/04/2016 22:46

Signorita - as long as you have 7lb or more to lose (and you won't be underweight if you lose that amount) then it'll be absolutely fine!

overitalready · 13/04/2016 04:53

Morning all!

waves

Haven't been on for ages but still lurking in the back ground watching you all.

I now only have 7 weeks tomorrow Jesus deep breath until wedding day and target day. I reached my original target of 10.7 some weeks back so lowered to 9.7.

Currently at 10 so half a stone to go. I have my first dress fitting Saturday also Grin

Anyway just wanted to pop my head in, say hello and also of course say well done to everyone else.

KittyOShea · 13/04/2016 07:05

Good luck with the dress fitting overit. Sounds like you're doing great!

Today's menu
B- the usual, porridge, fruit etc
L- ham and egg salad, fruit, yoghurt, wee bit of dressing (1 syn)
D- leftover curry

Weigh in tonight so fingers crossed...

jetsetlil · 13/04/2016 07:52

Hello. New here so still getting my head round everything! Please can someone answer a question? How many Syns in 2 slices of bread from a 400g loaf? I wasn't very organised yesterday so had both. I know one is a healthy extra. Actually how many for the cereal too ? It was 35g of porridge. Thank you

EmilyK83 · 13/04/2016 07:58

Jet - 35 plain porridge oats is either a HexB or 6 syns. The bread will depend on the type and brand...

jetsetlil · 13/04/2016 08:11

Thank you! It was Aldi wholemeal loaf, the small one

WeShouldOpenABar · 13/04/2016 08:19

weighed in today as eating out tonight and wanted an accurate reading without the bloat. 2lbs off finally finally finally reached the stone off!! drinking loads of water and trying to leave a bit on my plate seems to be working.

I started wanting to lose half a stone and now a stone in I still think I need to lose half a stone. I'm not sure I'll ever be done.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 13/04/2016 08:35

Another 1/2lb on but I expected that, I'd given up this week.

I have made a resolution to be kind to myself, which includes no negative self-talk, being my own cheerleader, and also includes eating well and being healthy. I think the thing that's fucked me over has been being too focussed on the scales - my motivation has become seeing the scales go down, so when I don't see that happening I lose my drive and give up. My aim is now to be healthy and kind to myself. But the weight thing is the whole focus of SW so Confused

The baby has been asleep since 7pm so I'm going to wake him up (he normally gets up at 5!!!!!!) and head off to the gym.

EmilyK83 · 13/04/2016 08:53

Well done WeShould - and good luck for this week, Bendy!

Jet - is it the one at the top of the attached screen grab?

Having a takeaway burger as a treat meal post-weigh in yesterday was a bad idea. Ate it, tasted good, then I was violently sick. I swear my body doesn't like greasy/fatty/fried stuff anymore!

Today's plan:

B - am out for a breakfast meeting, and haven't seen a menu in advance - hoping there's something fairly SW-friendly on the menu...

L - homemade lamb, lentil and veg soup

D - lemon spiced chicken and chickpeas from the BBC Good Food website

HexA a skinny latte this morning, HexB probably pistachios later on...
