Is your first weigh in embarrassing?

AvaLeStrange · 17/02/2016 18:17

It wasn't for me.

We actually weighed last week at the end of the session. This week we weighed with everyone else but it's very private - behind a screen and everyone queues up to the side of the table rather then behind one another so no-one sees anything apart from the 'weigher & weighee'! They write your weight loss/gain/maintain in your book so no one hears it either.

lunatrick · 17/02/2016 18:27

B - porridge (HEB) with half of my HEA milk, topped with frozen summer fruits and teaspoon of honey (1 syn). Black coffee with sugar (2 syns)

L - omelette with bacon medallions, mushrooms, onion and courgette, and a huge pile of salad. Mullerlight yogurt.

D - (cooking as I type) jacket potato, salmon with chopped tomatoes, and roasted veg (red onion, garlic, courgette, peppers, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes)

May treat myself to a small glass of red wine for getting on with a college assignment and overcoming a mental block on an equation (crap at maths).

Am definitely feeling a lot brighter and my head is clearer, so can concentrate a bit better. Don't know how much of that is due to eating better for 2 days, or just coincidence, but I'm keeping it up :)

Yesterday I also took photos of myself in the mirror, wearing leggings and tight top, and will do the same every week to record any change in body shape as an extra incentive. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

emwithme · 17/02/2016 18:40

Well we're all moved in to the new house Grin - the TV is set up, the kitchen is unpacked, the bed is made, and the rest of it can wait until tomorrow!

DH is in the bath (we've only had a shower for the past 2 1/2 years). I am watching cocking Stella. It's thai curry (one of those bagged jobs from Waitrose) for tea, and then back on plan after weigh in tomorrow morning.

Kim82 · 17/02/2016 19:00

Evening all. Some serious willpower going on over here even if I do say so myself. Dh and Ds have ordered a takeaway after a day from hell with the toddler and I didn't order anything! No idea what I'll have for tea and it will kill me watching them eat their pizza but I'm super proud of myself!

BirdingWidow · 17/02/2016 19:15

Hi all, rejoining if I may!

Sorry for your loss Oriana, and take care.

I was an occasional poster who took a break 3-4 weeks ago when going on a work trip overseas. I joined SW last June and reached 3 stone loss on Christmas Eve and have hovered there ever since! Probably another 2.5 stone to go.

The work trip wasn't too bad - I ate more bread than normal because of eating on the go but I more fell off the wagon when I got back. Not sure why really, just lost my rhythm and felt a bit anxious about some family stuff. It was quite a wake-up call to realise that after 7 months of basically following the plan and treating myself well the old binge-eating me was still there Confused . Anyway, I seem to have fallen back into step now (with a whimper not a bang!) so on we go.

Goal is to lose another stone by mid-may as I have a posh thing to go to and want to buy a posh frock that I feel good in! Then maybe another 10 lbs by July when we go on hols

BasinHaircut · 17/02/2016 20:00

I ordered a Chinese Blush

So angry with myself but after thinking about it all day I had to get it out of my system.

Crispy chilli beef (ate it all 12 syns), chicken fried rice (ate 2/3rds 7-ish syns) a blob of curry sauce (1syn) and a few prawn crackers (let's say 5 syns)

Does that sound about right?

Had no other syns today so that's 25 total. If I have 0 syns tomorrow I hope I can even it out!

Im so annoyed with myself. That's another week I probably won't lose now Angry

FannyFanakapan · 17/02/2016 20:37

Im finding half term with all the kids very stressful and I have fallen merrily off plan for 2 days. I cant see it getting much better in the next 2 days either, so it looks like me gaining this week. Sigh.

DamedifYouDo · 17/02/2016 20:55

Disaster today - best laid plans went astray!!!

I had a 3 hour journey with the kids today as we are staying with family for a few days. I had carefully arranged a lunch stop along the way at a pub where I could have a steak with jacket and salad. I only had a light breakfast of banana and a milky coffee (hex a) in anticipation, we got there and there was an hour wait for food (I had booked) we couldn't wait that long so went to McDonalds where I had a big mac and fries!!! 37 syns but I enjoyed it and didn't have much choice!!!

I made some free veg soup when we arrived at our destination but I'm still full from lunch.
Back on plan tomorrow.

Mummyme87 · 17/02/2016 21:17

0.5lb off this week. 10lb in 5weeks.
Happy with this again. Thought it was a gain this week, have made some bad food decisions

AvaLeStrange · 17/02/2016 21:44

Well, so far so good today.

My SW chips were not great - they tasted OK but didn't look like chips, more like long, square potato wedges!

My DIY pudding (banana, peanut caramel Muller light & Maltesers) was really yummy though - and the only syns I've had today.

OrianaBanana · 17/02/2016 22:07

Thanks for the thoughts everyone it really helps Flowers

Maintained this week which is a blessing - I really thought I'd gained a few. Back on plan tomorrow, I will have control in one area of my life. I have done it before and I will do it again.

calzone · 17/02/2016 23:23

0.5lb on.

Fine with that.

BasinHaircut · 18/02/2016 07:25

Right. I've got 3 weeks until my weekend away, and I MUST get down to 11st. So I need to lose 4lbs and stop self-sabotaging in order to do so.

It's going to be a crazy busy few weeks so need to meal plan like mad but I can do this!

I feel like utter shite after my Chinese last night. It laid heavy on me all through the night, I feel bloated from all of the salt and I can't face breakfast even though I'm probably not going to get the chance to eat until 1pm at the earliest. I'll have to stick am alpen light bar in my bag. Might try and stick a few speed days in too.

deli1976 · 18/02/2016 08:45

-1 this morning.13lbs off now still a long way to go

Verso · 18/02/2016 09:13

Can I join? I signed up to SW and had my first weigh in on Monday. Glad to have got that out of the way as it was a shocker. Taking me a while to get my head round the hexa and hexb and syns but I expect I'll get there eventually...

I'm in it for the long haul. After losing loads years ago on Lighter Life and maintaining for almost two years by STRICT low carbing, I weakened my resolve and ended up mahoosive again Sad.

Oh well. It is what it is! Onward!

WeShouldOpenABar · 18/02/2016 09:21

STS this week which was as expected but still disappointing. I am feeling down and had a square of toblerone for breakfast which is very unlike me and I am hoping not to spiral.

I felt so fat this morning I was surprised at the STS , I cant trust my view of my body at all, I was sure I had put on all the weight I had lost, 8 pound in a week! ive done it on holiday but I only had one meal out this week it was hardly a wild time.

cowboylover · 18/02/2016 09:46

Welcome Verso and other newbies!
I found it took a while to get my head around all of it as well with Syns and HeX. Write it down every time and I find it really helps me!

Yesterday
B; 3 toast HeB 3 Syns
L; Pasta in passata with herbs and loads of mushrooms
D; Easy Chicken curry from the Best Loved book and rice
Snacks of loads of fruit and HeA as milk in my coffees

Weight day for me today at 7.30 but first a day out at the community farm so will try to avoid the tea and cakes.

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 10:13

Morning all and welcome newbies. I have finally been shopping so can plan my meals a bit better again. Today's menu is:

B - weetabix and banana

L - ham, mushroom and tomato omelette and a lemon Greek muller light (0.5 syns)

D - griddled pork and new potatoes roasted in garlic and bacon with veg

emwithme · 18/02/2016 11:43

WOO HOO! Maintained this week, as I had hoped to do.

Now back on plan properly - or at least I will be once I've gone to a supermarket. I've also got my lovely new kitchen with range cooker to break in, so the plan is for lots of nice recipes.

EmilyK83 · 18/02/2016 12:29

Well done losers and welcome newbies!

Basin - I had the same issue when I had a Chinese last week...tasted great, but stomach felt rotten for the next few days! Hope you feel better soon.

Today's plan...

B - punnet of raspberries, herbal tea

L - en route to the supermarket now so it'll be whatever I pick up!

D - chicken stuffed with lemon zest, quark, parsley and garlic and wrapped in ham, plus mash (with quark) and carrots.

Ended yesterday on 15 Syns, will try and be better today...

Welliesandwings · 18/02/2016 13:02

Afternoon all, weigh in for me today and I've lost 3lbs meaning 15lb overall and my 1st stone of 6 gone. I was a little surprised as Saturday was spent drinking copious amount of strawberry daquiries with a chinese takeaway on the side so I fully expected a gain. It'll probably catch up with me next week!

whyistherumgone · 18/02/2016 13:38

Hi all, just joined this online after weighing myself for the first time in ages - I knew I'd gained but it really wasn't pretty. On the plus side I am really motivated now I have more to shift.
I'm just slightly confused by the difference between Extra Easy and the Extra Easy Speedy (I think that's what it's called - I get two different options when I log into my weight loss tools/weight loss planner - I can create a 'plan' for either).
I'm going to go to a meeting as well but can't get there for two weeks and want to start tomorrow as I'm doing a prep shop today. Thanks in advance :)

KatieT12 · 18/02/2016 13:40

Hello Smile

I'd love to join this thread!

I go to my 1st meeting, at 5:30, this evening Shock I'm so nervous, but it has to be done!

Well done on all your weight losses! You've all done amazing.

Kate x

whyistherumgone · 18/02/2016 13:46

Good luck Kate! I weighed myself at home as I signed up online, but it has definitely given me the kick I needed.
