Hi :) I joined SW last night, so today is my first day on the plan. My weight has been getting me down for a while so I've decided to tackle it instead of doing my best ostrich impression. I did WW before my youngest daughter was born (so I worked out that was 17 yrs ago!) and lost 4 stone. I've put that back on with reinforcements! Have lost and gained weight a couple of times since then, but always end up getting swayed by the chocolate, Ben and Jerry's and pizza!

Went to Aldi this morning and stocked up on loads of veg, chicken, salmon and 5% mince. Much cheaper than I was expecting!

So far today I've had porridge (HE B) with half of my HE A milk (I don't take milk in my tea or coffee) and a spoonful of golden syrup for 1.5 syn. Black coffee with sugar (3 syns) I can't bring myself to use sweeteners, always get a nasty aftertaste. Will try to cut out the sugar eventually instead.

For lunch I had an omelette containing 2 bacon medallions, courgettes, onion and mushrooms, with half a plate of salad.

For dinner I've some kind of sticky fanta chicken thing in the slowcooker. Found the recipe on my group FB page. Planning to have that with rice and stir fried mangetout, baby corn, peppers and mushrooms.

I've got some options sachets for my chocolate fix this evening, using 2 syns.

Fingers crossed I can stick to it this time!

emwithme · 16/02/2016 18:01

Heh! Just ate a box of cheese twists (well, it was either eat them or pack them)...and then I've looked up the syns. 2 EACH. FUCK ME!

They were bloody lovely.

AvaLeStrange · 16/02/2016 18:15

Hour and 15 minutes to first weigh in...just about to eat dinner which probably isn't ideal but far too late for DD when we get back.

Please cross your fingers for me - I desperately need it to work this time.

Buttwing · 16/02/2016 19:37

Good luck Ava

Thanks basin sorry you're suffering too, if dc4 had been my first baby I don't think I would have gone on to have four!! We have nicknamed him asbo baby GrinGrin

B-yogurt and grapes

L-baked potato, ham and beans

D-pasta with prawns and chilli (with some veg thrown in)

I need more fruit and veg but the dc have eaten me out of house and home I need to go shopping.

Buttwing · 16/02/2016 19:38

Sorry meant to add welcome Luna and well done to the losersSmile

Kim82 · 16/02/2016 19:46

Urgh. I've struggled today as dd3 is ill and had me up through the night - my willpower is non existent when I'm tired. I've had a packet of high syn crisps (McCoys), some white bread toast dripping in butter and about 8 ginger nuts. I really want a glass of coke too but we only have Dh's full fat in so I'm trying to resist it. I also want cake and chocolate. Argh!!!

cowboylover · 16/02/2016 21:10

Hope your weigh went well Ava

Today
B; Full cooked with Quorn sausage, now I have got used to them I think they are really good for 1 syn
L; Fruit salad
D; Greek Plaki with cod from this months magazine which was delicious with salad leaves and potatoes.

Sitting here now with using 3 Syns for the day I really fancy some chocolate so might weigh some out as only have a big bar.

calzone · 16/02/2016 22:06

Good luck for weigh in everyone!

I deserve a medal for what I resisted today......boys had pizza at Bella Italia (terrible service so didn't pay a penny for lunch) I had tap water.
Then they had smoothies and pancakes with banana and Nutella.

B....fruit, yoghurt, banana
L....2 eggs and beans
D.....awesome! Turkey mince in tomato sauce, layered with aubergine, topped with cheese and chorizo baked in the oven. Served with green beans and broccoli
Pudding.....SW trifle 4 Syns
HEB hifi bar
HEA milk

AtSea1979 · 16/02/2016 22:10

Just seen this, checking in for ideas. Had SW Iceland meatballs today, with passata, onion and garlic with a dash of wine vinegar. Was delicious.

lunatrick · 16/02/2016 22:39

Thanks for the welcome :)

Some lovely ideas on this thread - I'll be going back and stealing some of them!

I'm stuffed. Managed to have totally free foods on lunch and dinner, with loads of speedy veg. Had half my HEA milk left to use, so used that with my Options chocolate (praline flavour) and topped up with water - certainly hitting the spot for my chocolate fix.

Have only used 6.5 syns today, am being mindful of the advice I received about not having too few, but I'm done for the day!

My husband is loving the food too, so that makes it easier.

AvaLeStrange · 16/02/2016 23:49

Wow Calzone...you do deserve a medal!

Hi Luna I'm a newbie too Smile.

So weighed in at -1lb, which is disappointing, but I did have to wing it a bit last week due to being busy & unwell, so I know there are changes I can make and having the group support is really helpful (and on here of course!).

I've not found it makes much of a difference in the past but definitely think it will this time.

DD has also lost 1lb, which is just right for her. We've signed up for the 12 week countdown and if she manages 1lb a week she'll look great by the end of it I think.

Went straight from group to supermarket & stocked up on fresh fruit, frozen berries & cherries, fat free yoghurt & fromage frais a a metric fuckton of Muller lights.

On it like a car bonnet from tomorrow. I'll be buggered ifvim giving up this time.

BasinHaircut · 17/02/2016 08:33

Supposed to be going out to lunch at work today, but I've brought a salad with me instead because they are going for fish and chips! A place with not one SW friendly option!

To strengthen my resolve I also weighed myself this morning (I know, naughty weighing midweek) just to see if I'd lost yet this week and I haven't, so now I am determined not to cheat for the rest of the week.

So today will be:
B - porridge and skimmed milk
L - chicken and Cous Cous and big salad
D - mushroom stroganoff, rice, green beans and carrots
Sn - banana and apple

sleeplessinmybedroom · 17/02/2016 08:56

Oriana I'm so sorry for your loss. take care of yourself.

Can I join, I joined sw for the first time ever last week. Wi is tomorrow. I don't feel lighter at all so I'm not sure how much I'm going to have lost. I'm finding I've not been starving at all. Hope I'm not doing it wrong. I have almost 7st to loose so a long way to go. I've lost and gained the same stone over and over again over the last three years.

sleeplessinmybedroom · 17/02/2016 08:57

Lose not loose.

Auroralights12 · 17/02/2016 10:12

deli1976 · 17/02/2016 12:31

Oriana xxxx

EmilyK83 · 17/02/2016 13:46

Back on it today after last night's treat night - a takeaway kebab and some biscuits!!

B - satsumas, herbal tea

L - homemade butternut squash soup. I chopped the squash up, cooked it in stock until soft, then drained it (saving the stock) and blended, adding stock while blending to get it to the right consistency. So good!

D - salt and pepper chicken with rice and veg

Alpen Lights for my HexB, going to get a skinny latte when out later for my HexA...

eggdipdip · 17/02/2016 14:59

Hi everyone

Hoping I can join you all here for support and inspiration? I just joined Slimming World Online on Sunday and now having a wobble that I have nobody to chat with/ask questions/compare notes!

So far, it's going really well though and I'm loving the freedom to eat carbs after not touching bread or potatoes for fear they would instantly cause me to gain 10lbs (nothing to do with all the other crap I ate obviously!).

Anyway, just wanted to say hi...so, hi!

Hay135 · 17/02/2016 15:25

Hi egg

I'm struggling today, not feeling very well and used 9 1/2 Syns already on a French fancy cake and chocolate dip with my strawberries.
Need to give my head a wobble! I'm home from work now so gonna grab some lunch.
I had an also thin toasted HEB with cheese triangles 1/2 HEA for breakfast and grapes as a snack. I'm going to have a mug shot follow by blueberries and melon to at least get some speed food in.
I have Fish, mushrooms and spinach for tea.

As long as I avoid snacking on Syns it could still be a good day........Blush

Katenka · 17/02/2016 16:41

Hi egg. It's really freeing isn't it?

I am loving it so far. Much prefer it to when it was red and green days.

Good luck!

AvaLeStrange · 17/02/2016 16:54

Hi egg!

I'm glad to see the back of red and green too, purely because it was so much like hard work and I'm not much of a pasta person.

Going well today:

Breakfast: Strawberries, raspberries and cherries with fat free Greek yoghurt

Lunch: HexB of 2 small slices wholemeal toast with 2 scrambled eggs and smoked salmon

Dinner: Chicken breasts with Nandos seasoning baked in the oven, SW chips and salad. Probably going to have a sliced banana with the new peanut and caramel Mullerlight and 5 syns of Maltesers for puddding.

HexA - 250ml of semi skimmed as usual - have enough for one more coffee (I have Tassimo Americanos and use about 80ml warmed in the microwave per mug - am not drinking 10 cups a day!)

Can I ask those of you who have meetings in the evening what (if anything) you eat beforehand? My meeting starts at 7.30pm and doesn't finish much before 9pm so way too late to eat after. Yesterday I only had dinner at 6.40pm which I'm sure affected my weigh in. Was thinking next week I might get a SW ready meal and have that as my main meal for lunch, then just have a salad when I get in.

calzone · 17/02/2016 16:56

B.....3 Linda sausages, whole packet of ham, 2 eggs, beans
Banana

L.....too full

Snack.....strawberries, jelly and banana custard Mullerlight

D....celeriac soup

And weigh in!

Hay135 · 17/02/2016 17:18

Ava I eat my tea around half 6 and my meeting is at 7.30 also. My thinking is that it may effect the first week i ate tea before i went but as long as at eat around the same time it will effect me the same each week so my actual weight loss will still show.
So if i changed between eating before and not eating before i go it would be less accurate than always eating before I go.
Does that make sense?

Katenka · 17/02/2016 17:24

B- Apple

L-butternut squash with chicken cheese (HEA)

D - chilli made with 5% mince beef, sweet potatoes and a pile of green peppers (extra veg in the chilli)

Snacks - Apple, pears and hi fi light

Got a raisin and biscuit Yorker in the fridge for later - 11 Syns.

Hoping for at least 2.5 off this week as that will take me under 13 stone and well on my way to my stone award.

AvaLeStrange · 17/02/2016 17:27

Thanks Hay. Yes that does make sense and was what I was thinking prior to last night! I'm also wearing the same clothes every week.

I'll see how it goes. I normally finish earlier on a Tuesday so could eat around 5.30-6 if I prep in advance, which wouldn't seem quite so close to weigh in.
