SW is obviously having more of an effect than I thought! Had pancakes for Valentine's dessert last night, with cream and raspberries - shop bought Scotch pancakes. Had one and left the rest as the taste wasn't worth the Syns!!

Today:

B - 2 satsumas, herbal tea, Alpen Light (half HexB)

L - rice salad with chicken, radishes, celery, peppers and spinach, seasoned with salt, pepper and lemon juice

Skinny decaf latte for HexA now while I'm out for a walk and trying to hit today's Fitbit target...

D - gammon, egg and butternut chips with cabbage. Dessert will be my other Alpen Light bar crumbled into yoghurt with raspberries and a syn of light squirty cream...

Katenka · 15/02/2016 16:29

I lost 3lb this week.

That's 9lb in two weeks. Really happy with that

Today was

Lunch butternut squash pizza with red pepper and ham. Cheese (HEA) and an apple

Dinner is going to be chicken, carrot and swede mash and the rest of the butternut squash.

Smacked on fruits during the day and will have hi fi as my HEB.

Haven't had any Syns yet today. Not sure wether I should work some in if I am hungry later or not worry about it.

calzone · 15/02/2016 17:16

Oh Oriana....am so sorry. Do look after yourself.......xx

B.....magic pancakes, stewed rhubarb
Apple

L.....Quarmite with crudités
Mullerlight with melon fingers

D......sweet potato fries with salad and fish, I think.

TitusAndromedon · 15/02/2016 18:29

I'm sorry to jump on, but I started Slimming World last Tuesday and so far it isn't exactly setting my world on fire. I'm being weighed tomorrow, but regardless of loss feel that, at the moment, it's a really unsustainable way of eating for me because I'm constantly hungry. In the past I've done Weight Watchers and low carb/high fat, which both worked well for me, but I have twelve week old twins so I was hoping SW would be more versatile and fit in with going for lunch with my NCT group and similar. However, I'm finding that the lack of fat is making me feel really hungry, and I feel like I need to constantly eat. It's leaving me incredibly grumpy! Could anyone advise? Today's meals:

B: Overnight oats with natural yoghurt and two sliced plums
Snack: Boiled egg
L: Tin of tuna with tbsp light mayo, big bowl of salad with cucumber and tomatoes, slices of apple, mango and melon
S: Snap pot of baked beans, apple

Now I've come home from a walk and eaten two boiled eggs. For dinner I'll have a burger with cheese, no bun, SW chips and broccoli and carrots. I might have yoghurt and pineapple after.

It feels like a lot of food, and as you'd expect I don't really have the time to be constantly preparing food and eating it. I'm also a little dubious about having a substantial portion of carbs at every meal, but perhaps this is what I'm missing? Any tips would be appreciated.

Kim82 · 15/02/2016 18:51

Titus, your menu looks fine but I would have added either a jacket potato or some pasta to your lunch as it will fill you up more. Don't forget you also have your syns to use as it doesn't look like you have used any today apart from a small amount for your mayo. You should have at least 5 each day. If it helps I can tell you my menu for today:

B - 2 weetabix with chopped banana (HeA and milk HeB)

S - apple, handful of grapes and a couple of strawberries

L - Tuna, pasta, sweetcorn with salad (lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, celery, red onion), packet of hula hoop pufts (3.5 syns)

S - 2 big slices of melon

D - 3 pieces of grilled bacon, 2 fried eggs, mushrooms, 2 grilled tomatoes, baked beans (egg and mushrooms fried in Fry Light)

I will also have a curly wurly tonight which is 6 syns. I drink mainly bottled water, one glass of diet coke per day and how ever many cups of tea I can manage with whatever milk allowance is left from my HeA after my breakfast.

It sounds like a lot but I have lost 18.5lbs in 6 weeks eating meals like this every day so it does work.

TitusAndromedon · 15/02/2016 19:02

Thanks, Kim. The burger for tonight has about six syns, so I will be using some. In any case, I guess I will need to have a large portion of carbs with each meal to ensure I'm not always hungry.

AvaLeStrange · 15/02/2016 19:30

Congratulations on your twins Titus - I was barely leaving the house when DD was 12 weeks so I am in awe of you even joining SW!

Why don't you tell us what you'd normally eat in day, and perhaps between us we can tweak it so it's SW friendly and satisfying?

I know what you mean about being sceptical about the carbs.

I think I've done alright today:

B - 2 boiled eggs with smoked salmon

L - Roast beef, rocket and tomato sandwich (HexB) with pk of Walkers Pops (4 syns) and a Muller Greek Orange Yoghurt (0.5 syns)

Snack - 2 Jaffa Cakes (5.0)

Dinner - Beef & noodle stir fry, based on the Singapore Noodles recipe in magazine but tweaked a bit hence 3 syns rather than 0.5 as I added some crushed peanuts.

HexA - semi skimmed milk in my coffees as usual.

First weigh-in tomorrow - am slightly terrified as it's usually at this point that I come crashing off the wagon as I've either 'lost a few pounds and deserve a treat' or 'haven't lost anything and it's all a waste of time'.

I have a figure in my head of -3lb that I'd be happy with, more would be great, less would be a bit disappointing, less than -2lb and I'll be gutted.

Having said that, although I've been paying a lot more attention to what I eat, I have been winging it a bit so at least I know I have 'somewhere to go' if this week isn't so good.

Can anyone remind me what the superspeed plan is as may have a go at that since I'm off work for a week after tomorrow.

Hackedabove · 15/02/2016 20:16

Take care Oriana

FannyFanakapan · 15/02/2016 20:17

oooh hello, I have been off plan for a birthday weekend, didnt weigh in on Friday as I had a meeting...

b: omlette, tomato, apple
l: Lamb tagine, bread and butter (2)
D: Lamb tagine with cauli rice, pomegranate. STrawberries and muller.

ohtheholidays · 15/02/2016 20:47

Hi I've just started SW today.I really couldn't have picked a worse time to start, half term for the children and we have 5DC one at work the rest at school.

So far today I've had
B: a large omelette made with mushrooms and ham.
L:Jacket potato with tuna mayo and some clover,5 sins.
S:I've had two pieces of fruit and a couple of mushrooms and a low yogurt.

Not had dinner yet and getting really hungry.I know I need to have a look for some tasty and easy recipes tonight for the rest of the week.

maygirl · 15/02/2016 21:01

So sorry Oriana xxx
I'm away for a few days, trying to stay on plan as best as I can .

cowboylover · 15/02/2016 22:09

Trying to get back on plan but feeling unwell and trying to remind myself that chocolate and cake is not the cure for a virus!

Today
B; Porridge and milk
L; Apple, Mullerlight, HiFi
D; Steak, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, baby potatoes and mushrooms.
Just had a Options hot chocolate which would normally be 2syns but realised I had already had my A when I was writing it down so finishing the day on 11 Syns

I don't think I will be going to work tomorrow but I sent DH out with a shopping list and think he did ok so hopefully I have a few options on plan.

Hay135 · 15/02/2016 22:53

Weighed in and maintained happy I didn't put on weight and glad I made the effort to exercise this week or it could have been a lot worse. Back on it today and going to be good this week and get this weight off!

emwithme · 16/02/2016 00:29

OK, so DH and I are moving house on Wednesday. We had, until this morning, packed NOTHING. At all. We have nearly agreed to divorce three times, and I have stopped myself committing murder more times than I can count.

I am being nearly on plan, but being aware that I am expending a fuck load of energy shouting at DH for being a twat I am not bothered about syns that much. I am actually glad that it's come in the same week as my birthday so I only have one shitty week to get over!

Breakfast: Ha, no. We had to take the cats to the cat hotel and I didn't want to get out of bed.
Lunch: Salad box (from Asda) with a metric fuckton of prawns (that I didn't realise I had in the freezer).
Snack: Hula hoops (5 1/2 syns)
Dinner: Jacket potato, 3 iceland SW sausages, beans, mushrooms, onion (all chopped and fried together). Muller greek yoghurt (1/2 syn)
Snack: Hifi bars (HEB), peanuts (a zillionty syns)

And now it's time for bed and we have got a fuckload to do tomorrow and the last time we moved, DH promised that I would never have to pack a house again, we could either pay for packers or he'd send me away for a week (even if it was just "back home" to visit family in the Midlands).

longlivetheking · 16/02/2016 08:07

Good luck Em, sounds most stressful!

Going to halo MIL clean new house after dropping DS's at golf and weighing in. Hope DD doesn't play up too much whilst we're waiting!

Got the weigh in dread!

Had been 100% until Sunday but hoping that doesn't mess things up too much. Have also been on exercise bike a few times so hopefully it will add up Confused

Buttwing · 16/02/2016 08:26

Gah baby up since 4.30. Wtf is that all about?! I'm beyond tired. Im off to a national trust place this morning to walk the kids. They serve amazing cakes there must resist!!
Em that sounds like a nightmare good luck!!

EmilyK83 · 16/02/2016 09:53

2lb off today, so a stone and 1/2lb in 6 weeks! So happy!

BasinHaircut · 16/02/2016 10:09

em you should have booked packers! Best couple of hundred quid I've ever spent!

butt I feel your pain, DS(2.5) has decided that 5:30 is time to get up so DH and I are knackered!

I'm aching so badly from circuit training this morning. I think the lack of sleep doesn't help.

Today should look like this:
B: porridge with skimmed milk
L: chicken, Cous Cous, big salad
D: more chicken, micro pilau rice, veg curry, cucumber, tomato and onion salad.
Sn: banana and pear.

At the gym last night I was checking myself out in the mirrors and I think I could do with losing a bit more than my original target so I'm revising it.

My first target is still 11st by the week of 7 March (I'm 11st4lbs now), but after that I think I want to aim for 10st 4lbs by the end of May.

BasinHaircut · 16/02/2016 10:10

Emily that's amazing!

Kim82 · 16/02/2016 10:31

Emily that's brilliant, well done! I need to go food shopping today but dd3 has a throat and ear infection so is really not happy, I might have to wait until dh gets home from work so I can go without her. Today's menu will hopefully be:

B - weetabix

L - ham, tomato and spinach omelette and a lemon muller light Greek yoghurt

D - griddled pork steak with red onion, garlic roasted new potatoes and veg

Sn - fruit, cucumber sticks, small choc bar

EmilyK83 · 16/02/2016 11:43

Thanks ladies!

Going to have a bit of a treat tonight for hitting the stone mark, so today will be like this...

B - nothing - never do on weigh day!

L - leftover rice salad with radishes, chicken, celery, peppers, spinach and lemon juice

D - takeaway kebab...and I'm just off out to find a non-SW friendly dessert too ;)

emwithme · 16/02/2016 11:54

Emily That's amazing, well done!

I know we should have booked packers. If it had been up to DH, we wouldn't even have bloody removal men. He has gone off to acquire more boxes now, the ones we've had in the shed for 18 months (since best mate moved) are mouldy and soggy and despite me asking him to check them a couple of weeks ago, he hadn't.

BasinHaircut · 16/02/2016 12:56

em is there time to dig a quick hole in the garden and bury DH in there before you move? Grin

BasinHaircut · 16/02/2016 14:06

Just had an unplanned snack of M&S honey BBQ whole grain crisp snack type thingies. Appx 6.5syns and delicious!

Really needed something to satisfy a craving.

Should still be below 10 syns for the day though

longlivetheking · 16/02/2016 15:41

2.5lb off! SO pleased.
Out for DH's birthday later so will have to be good rest of the week. Sure the cycling helped too so will be doing more of that.

Hurrah. Have been 1 or 0.5 or maintains since Xmas and it's been really annoying!
