Right.

Have had a bad week plan-wise. Had a croissant breakfast, a Chinese takeaway and yesterday I ate big white bread baguette with butter on it (probably a billion syns).

Supposed to weigh on Sunday but we've been invited to a friends to dinner tonight AND I've got a baby shower this afternoon which will be all cake and stuff, so I wanted to see what damage id done already to stop me from over indulging tonight.

Well, I've lost a few ounces. I was 11st4lbs and change last week and today I'm 11st4lbs on the nose. Can't believe it.

Anyway, it's made me determined to do much better next week.

On the plus side I've managed the gym twice a week for the past 2 weeks which I'm really pleased about. I've really struggled to find time for it since I had DS but hopefully I've got my groove back.

fraggle84 · 13/02/2016 07:51

I keep joining this thread then disappearing, had a chat with myself & im back and not going away!!

Joined sw at Easter 2015, had lost 2 stone but put on last week so now it's 1 stone 12.

Need about 3 stone until I'm at target which I want by September is that too ambitious?

Today's planned food
B - sausages (3syns), scrambled egg
L - syn free tomato soup
D - chilli with sw chips & roast veg
A&b - hi fi bar & milk
Syns - sausages (3), cheese (5)

loopsylala · 13/02/2016 08:19

I think I've lost 4lbs (WI tomorrow but have been sneakily weighing daily)

I've struggled to stay within my syns as I'm still getting used to it and next week I'm away for a few days so that could influence it too.

FoofFighter · 13/02/2016 08:45

Weigh in shortly, wish me luck! Expecting a maintain at best despite being on plan 95% for the last 5 days as a hangover from the previous week's cba-ness.

EmilyK83 · 13/02/2016 09:32

Good luck Foof!

Welcome back fraggle!

Loopsy- I'm trying to avoid weighing daily, there's so much fluctuation :-/

Basin - you can do it!! Does the baby shower host know you're on SW? You could offer to take veg, SW-friendly dips and a few other bits along to make it more likely you'll stay mostly on track?

AvaLeStrange · 13/02/2016 09:51

Will be thinking of you Basin as we've got FILs birthday do this afternoon. I'm only aware of sandwiches, sausage rolls & cake being on offer which isn't ideal.

Have had from age frais & fruit for breakfast, and will do ham & mushroom omlette with sweet potatoes wedges & salad for dinner, and just try not to go overboard in between.

Am driving as well as I have the tail end of a cold, so no booze for me which should help.

Katenka · 13/02/2016 10:35

Hi everyone

I hope I am ok to join.

I did slimming world 5 years ago when ds was 13 days old. I lost 5 stone but stopped going when I went back to work.

I managed to maintain my weight but decided to go back to loss the last almost 3 stone.

I weigh in on Monday and lost 6lbs in my first week. Hoping for another good one this Monday.

When I did it before I saved all my Syns for one day a week. But this time I have had my Syns daily. It's made it much easier to do. I have even tried some recipes from the magazine out, which I never did.

I think this group is nicer than the one I used to go to, too. Very supportive. Just hoping I see it through to target!

OrianaBanana · 13/02/2016 10:44

Trying to cut syns down a bit (from 15 a day) as last week shouldn't really have been a maintain and I'm worried about this week

B - fried egg on toast (half HExB), fried tomato, butter (2) and tea (HExA)
L - hummus and smoked salmon dips (free) with crudités, apple, possibly pops (4)
D - lamb tikka masala from either a book or the mag, must find it...Confused, salad
S - teas and coffees (decaf), banana, clementine... hopefully no more syns.

I am sure when the 'morning' sickness starts I will lose more quickly and not very healthily - must try and work out what a healthy gain is from my target weight throughout the 9 months and try and work out if I can use as a yardstick.

Can everyone list their favourite free snacks? It would be great to get a bit of inspiration as I'm a real snacker and I'd love something different to snack on!

For me:

Chicken drumsticks
Free hummus and smoked salmon dip (now have to cut down on the oily fish though)
Quorn cocktail sausages (half syns each but still)
Chopped carrot
Gherkin wrapped in ham

WI day today for me - I joined online at New Year and after a good start got a bit stuck last week and STS. Just weighed and I've lost half a kilo which takes me to 6 kg in 6 weeks. I'm really pleased with that and it has really motivated me to stick with it, I still have a very long way to go (40 kg)!

I'm changing my relationship with food for good and I actually feel as though I can keep to this way of eating. Bread has been hard to reduce so much but I feel much better for it and I'm not feeling the need to snack so much.

Pisghetti · 13/02/2016 11:23

I've got the book Anna but haven't read it yet helpful!

Good luck Foof!

B - boiled eggs and wm toast (HeB)
L - we'll probably eat in town so I'll get a baked potato with beans. Maybe HeA cheese....
D - going to try a recipe from the new book once I've had a chance to flick through it! Or might go for nacho feast with quorn mince.

Oriana I mostly snack on fruit but crudités like carrot sticks, pepper sticks, mange tout etc with free dips are good too? The beetroot one on the website is lovely and really easy to make.

Katenka · 13/02/2016 11:34

I snack on red pepper or ham and toast butternut squash. I like it roasted and cold in salad. But not sure if many people would eat it cold.

Hay135 · 13/02/2016 12:06

I snack on grapes, cherries, melon, blueberries, muller Greek yoghurt 1/2 syn, peppers.
I am looking for new snack ideas too Smile

EmilyK83 · 13/02/2016 13:38

Well done losers!

I snack on Alpen Light bars (as part of my HexB), chopped fruit with fat free natural yoghurt mixed with sweetener, Asda Chinese chicken slices, chopped up veggies (radishes, carrot sticks, cucumber, celery etc), gherkins, pickled onions!

EmilyK83 · 13/02/2016 13:42

Today we've actually meal planned for a whole week, been shopping and saved ourselves a small fortune in the process! Definitely going to do this every week now...

Today looks like this:

B - raspberries and fat free yoghurt

L - Kingsmill thin (HexB), radishes, celery, cucumber, chicken slices, pickled cabbage, gherkins, a bacon medallion that needed using today and some quarmite!

D - leftover ocean pie with spinach and salad

Will get a skinny latte in town later for my HexA, and Syns will probably be in the form of Yoomoo frozen yoghurt (4 for 1/4 of the tub) and choc shot after dinner!

Katenka · 13/02/2016 13:42

Oh yes and hi fi bars. They really help my late night chocolate cravings. Bread and crackers always make me bloated so I struggle with healthy b.

Hackedabove · 13/02/2016 13:48

I have the fab free feasts book, going to do the Trinidadian curry tonight for friends, consultant did it and said it was good, except scotch bonnet chillies may need removing before they disintegrate.

One thing I'm liking about SW is getting new recipes to cook.

Katenka · 13/02/2016 14:46

One thing I'm liking about SW is getting new recipes to cook.

Me too. I have cooked more this week than I have in years.

Mum and dad are coming round for dinner tomorrow so I am doing the pulled pork.

Buttwing · 13/02/2016 17:54

Hi quick question how many syns would you say are in

Chicken tikka starter
Chicken shashlik and a couple of tablespoons of rogan josh sauce.

Having a curry tonight and really want to choose the best option.

Kim82 · 13/02/2016 18:58

I've no idea how many syns would be in that Buttwing, I'm useless at trying to work it out - sorry!

My day started off well but ended badly. I've had:

B - weetabix and banana

L - tuna salad, packet of hula hoop puffs (3.5) and one of those mini dairy milk thingies that used to be called wildlife bars (5.5)

All okay up to that point but then I took the kids to McDonalds and ended up buying a grilled sweet chilli chicken wrap which I didn't think would be too many syns but apparently they're about 20!!

I've been good the rest of the week though and have been under on syns most days so I'm hoping it'll cancel it out. I can't believe how many syns were in it but at least I ordered diet coke to go with it. Just fruit as snacks for me tonight!

Buttwing · 13/02/2016 19:50

Thanks anyway Kim

It's a bit by the by now anyway. I had the shashlik, boiled rice and salad, which I think will be pretty low. The tikka was dried out so I left it. The sauce had about a centimetre of oil floating on the top, gross! So I left that too.

Oh well I ended up being good even though i was trying not to be!!

B-fruit and yogurt

L-chicken and bacon salad

D-ropey curry takeawayGrin

annatha · 13/02/2016 20:22

3lb off and slimmer of the week! No idea how, there were two "fuck it days" this week. I had a look at the book but I don't think I'd get much use out of it, dh isn't overly adventurous. My consultant is great though and lets us take photos of the recipes we fancy in the books she has out on display (pretty sure she's not meant to do this...) so I'm going to try the cauliflower pizza and meatzza eventually.

calzone · 13/02/2016 21:33

Those looking for new syn free snacks......have you tried Quarmite?

Slimming World Support Thread 2016 (2)
EmilyK83 · 13/02/2016 21:48

Mmmmmmm quarmite... 😍😍

maygirl · 13/02/2016 22:50

Well done Annatha!
B heB porridge with yogurt, blueberries and apple . half heA milk in coffee
and some scrambled eggs Blush, getting energy up for double gym session of spinning followed by HIIT , my legs are still throbbing now!
banana in between classes
more yogurt after.
L baked sweet potato with leftover chilli con carne, baked beans, other half HeA cheese, salad, homemade coleslaw (0.5syn for lite mayo)
options (2syns), orange
D curry pork skewers from this months mag, really tasty and spicy. I only had green thai curry paste, not red so used that, and only half the amount in the recipe. The pork was a bit too spicy for DCs, they had to down loads of water Grin. its served with noodles and a salad of green beans, carrot strips, tomatoes, chilli, and a lime and chilli dressing. I added broccoli and baby corn too. It was supposed to have a few nuts in but I didn't have any, so reduced syns to 1 per serving.

Valentines treat of a small piece choc cake I made for DH, putting it as 8 syns. Going away for few days tomorrow, will try my best to stay on plan .
