ava we had the chicken tikka masala recently too. It's amazing isn't it! I used quark instead of yoghurt though

KittyOShea · 11/02/2016 21:14

Basin how about Eton mess with 0% from age frais instead of cream?

Frozen/ fresh berries are free and meringues are pretty low syn

Congrats on the 3 stone award calzone and to all the losers

Mummyme87 · 11/02/2016 21:35

2lb off for me last night, a total of 9.5lb in 4 weeks 😊 Very happy with this. Although a bit miffed as I picked up two boxes of hifi bars and didn't realise they weren't the light ones

Pisghetti · 11/02/2016 22:35

Basin you could do a trifley sort of thing - sugar free jelly (between 1.5-3.5 Syns a pack) with some frozen fruit stirred in before it sets. Top with quark mixed with a heaped tbsp sweetener and two capfuls of tesco Sicilian lemon flavouring?

I lost half a pound. I'm ok with that. I had a big loss last week due to not eating much and was expecting a bounce. At least it went off not on!

cowboylover · 11/02/2016 22:52

The dessert looks really good in this months magazine with the yoghurt and fruit in but I am not sure what it's called again now!

I put on 3lb but in my birthday week and lots of stress going on I am ok with that so now moving on.

calzone · 11/02/2016 23:14

Thanks everyone.

The support on here has really spurred me on......😊

Am dying to know what the deleted post said!!

calzone · 11/02/2016 23:17

AvaLeStrange · 11/02/2016 23:50

Just have proper look at thread (was on rubbish phone before).

Calzone that's a brilliant achievement - how long have you been going for?

I'm not sure whether I'm dreading my first weigh in, or looking forward to it Confused. Part of me feels really positive that I'm doing something about my weight, but then I just can't believe that it will actually work and I won't be in much the same boat as I am now in 3 months time.

Hackedabove · 12/02/2016 06:53

Brilliant achievement Calzone.

FoofFighter · 12/02/2016 09:07

Calzone it was a link to a surveymonkey about food, didn't click it tho so maybe something naughty!
Friday
B: porridge HEXB and HEXA and blueberries/grated apple
L: SW Quiche (pasta, red pepper, broccoli) and salad,el mayo 1
T: Tesco Takeaway veggie chow mein 2, chinese chicken, huge thing of prepared fresh fruit

Sounbelievablydull · 12/02/2016 09:50

Can't believe it only 1/2 lb off 😢 this was my second week. I have been v good (I think) other than some wine at weekend and as had no Syns at all during the week I am very disappointed.
Think I will do food diary and see what went wrong
I have had quite a few pasta n sauce things for lunch at work made with water only but perhaps they are not as innocent as they seem??

KittyOShea · 12/02/2016 10:14

Sound I think most varieties of pasta n sauce are fine. Make sure though 1/3 of your plate is speed to maximise weight loss. If I have something like that for lunch I make sure I bring lots of melon and mandarin oranges too to make sure I have enough speed.

Buttwing · 12/02/2016 11:48

Soundbelieve did you have a big loss last week? The second week is often a lower weight loss if you had a good one in the first week. Stick with it and weight will come off next week. Try to seethe bigger picture and look at what you've lost over the two weeks. But I know it's totally crap when it happens!

B-mango and yogurt

L-chicken and bacon salad

D-roast chicken, caponata, salad, sw chips and corn on the cob.

AvaLeStrange · 12/02/2016 11:59

Sounbelievably

It's such a bugger when that happens and I really dreading it as I'm sure I'll be the same and it's definitely one of the major reasons why I've struggled to stay on track just losing weight on my own at home - it's so demoralising.

Having said that, there were several people at the group I joined on Tuesday saying they found they had a 'good' week and then a week where they stayed the same or lost very little, followed by another 'good' week.

I found this quite reassuring in a way as at least I know to expect that and that I'll have some support and an incentive to keep going (actually DD is more my incentive than anything but we both need the structure of the group I think).

OohMavis · 12/02/2016 12:40

2lbs off, happy with that Smile

Hay135 · 12/02/2016 13:02

Sounbelieve you need to make sure you are having your Syns the first time I did slimming world I though I was being really good not having my Syns and didn't loose much each week. I got demoralised and quit. This time my consultant is amazing and constantly reminding us we need to have min 5 Syns a day. Been doing it for 3months and lost 1stone 6 1/2 lbs! That being said some weeks the scales just don't reflect the week I've had but if you keep going you will get there Grin

FoofFighter · 12/02/2016 13:09

Once you have a good few weeks on plan under your belt you can sometimes see a pattern to your weight loss - for me it's every third week will be a random maintain or even a small gain for no apparent reason, and usually get one decent loss a month of 3lbs and the rest usualy 1-1.5lbs

longlivetheking · 12/02/2016 15:25

When I came on today I had a prompt asking me if I wanted to change my username so I have purely for that reason!

Still Blondie, still on track. Hoping for a really good loss Tuesday as no plans this weekend

Pisghetti · 12/02/2016 16:59

Hmm today started so well...

B - wm toast with cheese slice HeB and HeA
S1 - fruit pot of apple slices, pineapple and grapes
S2 - banana, clementine
S3 - biscuit. Hmm ok 6.5 Syns... Manageable... But then:
L - gnocchi in creamy white wine sauce (only veggie option) with loads of veg and salad. Fresh fruit for dessert. And a dark chocolate tartlet with salted caramel sauce - argh! (It was lush mind)

God knows how many Syns. In the spirit of NFIF though I shall endeavour to eat free foods only for dinner!

maygirl · 12/02/2016 20:44

Eaten loads today, on plan and happy!
B omelette, mushrooms, melon, yogurt
Apple
L leftover chickpea curry, cucumber, tomatoes

Well done on losses people! Grin

A good day today. Fitbit's chalked up 15,000 steps, and I actually had all three meals today! And I was on the radio this morning - whoop!!

B - 2 satsumas, Alpen Light (half HexB)

Small skinny latte while out (HexA)

L - salad leaves with chicken, bacon, peppers and asparagus

D - ocean pie (oh cooked!! - 1/4 syn per portion) with salad and asparagus

Also made a 2 syn dessert which was amazing! 2 crushed Asda mini meringues (1.5) with sweetened fat free yoghurt, raspberries, a crumbled Alpen Light (1/2 HexB) and 0.5 Syns of light squirty cream. Bit like a take on an Eton Mess and so good - got rid of sugar cravings! Pic attached 😊

Keep falling off the thread. Anyone have the free food feasts book? Any good? I'm already on a countdown and don't really have the money to buy another one but may get the book.

This is my first week without having to hand a food diary in and I've struggled. Still writing everything down etc but making stupid choices (a 12 syn chai latte when I get a billion hex As from breastfeeding so could've had a big free whole milk latte), ending up having ikea meatballs and Daim cake for both lunch and dinner one day after getting stuck cluster feeding in the cafe and struggled to get 1/3 speed. Weigh in tomorrow and I'm dreading it.

annatha · 12/02/2016 22:42

Dh just came home with mini eggs and a chocolate orange. Oh god. He's helpfully eaten all the mini eggs and we've agreed to save the orange until after weigh in tomorrow. Mini eggs are 1 syn EACH and each segment of chocolate orange is 2.5 syns.
