L...lentil dhal loaf, salad, chopped fruit, melon fingers

Snack.....hifi bar, 2 Ryvita with Quarmite and tomatoes

D.....The almighty amazing mushroom risotto......syn free!!

BasinHaircut · 05/02/2016 21:07

B - Dairylea light on toast (HEXA&B)

L - leftover Spag Bol

D - 2 fried eggs and SW chips.

Haven't eaten nearly enough speed food today (or any actually) but it's been hectic and I never had a chance to go to the shops or to cook. But at least I did an exercise class this evening!

Kim82 · 05/02/2016 21:18

Well done on the losses everyone, you're all doing so well! All these menus look great too, I'm taking notes to help with my meal ideas.

How do you all manage at the weekends? Until I started SW I would always get a takeaway on a Friday and Saturday would be spent on the sofa with a big bag of posh crisps and some wine! I've been okay with not drinking but struggle with no snacks on Saturday night and am fed up of fruit by the end of the day so does anyone have any tips?

Anyway, my food today has been:

B - weetabix and banana (HEB and milk from HEA)

L - ham, mushroom and spinach omelette with a packet of pombear crisps (4.5 syns)

D - chicken breast sprinkled with paprika, broccoli, cauliflower and sprouts

Snacks - kitkat (5.5 syns), apple, 2 oranges, handful of grapes

I am now sitting watching dh devour a huge galaxy bar right in front of me. Bastard!!

calzone · 05/02/2016 21:48

Kim.....make yourself a platter......

Gherkins
Pickled onions
Ham
Mini tomatoes
Carrot sticks
Pufts
Quarmite dip
Ryvita HEB
A fudge (6)

Blizy · 05/02/2016 22:04

Hi, I joined SW last week, had my first weigh in and only lost 1 1/2 lbs. I'm a bit disappointed with this as was expecting more, I've stuck to the plan. 100%. Any tips to help?

calzone · 05/02/2016 22:09

Blizey......drink lots of water.

Only choose speed fruits and vegetables.
Vary what you eat every day.

Tell us what you have had today. It might be you are not eating enough.

Blizy · 05/02/2016 22:22

Today I had
B- 2x hifi bars as I was up and out early
L- homemade carrot and lentil soup apple and tangerine.
D- chicken fried rice with salad.

No syns today, I've really struggle to eat as my IBS is flaring up.

tabulahrasa · 05/02/2016 22:24

I do that, well not that, but a plate or whatever with as much stuff as I can to eke out my syns, with like crisps (pufts or something) pickled onions, fruit, meringue and quark, jelly beans, mikado, ooh flying saucers not long ago, they were great, lol.

So I've got loads to nibble on, but it's well within syns.

TheFridgePickersKnickers · 06/02/2016 00:10

Hi, Can I join in please.

Im an old timer SW fan. Lost 5 1/2 stone in 12 months many years ago on the old red and Green plan.

Have been back to SW a few times since but never had quite as much success on the EE plan.

So after a 15 month break (and carrying a lot of extra padding) I plucked up the courage to rejoin on Thursday. New group in a new area as we have moved. It all feels a bit strange again.

I am desperate to shift some of my weight. Realistically I have at least 4stone but aiming for a size 14 really.

Today was day 2 on the plan. Very hectic day, so worried I have not eaten enough:

B: Nothing ( I rarely eat b/fast)
L: Banana with 0% Total
D: 2 bacon rashers (fat removed), scrambled eggs, 3 huge grilled mushrooms, 1 grilled beef tomato, watercress and baked beans with a dollop of HP sauce (2s).. Followed by Fresh fruit salad - kiwi, apple grapes, melon and apple

Just eaten a Curly Wurly - 6 syns.

WeShouldOpenABar · 06/02/2016 00:46

I work flexible syns so that I only use them on the weekend. This is the only way I can get it to work for me I'm not interested in a biscuit midweek if it means I can't drink on the weekend.
I'm getting a lot of grief in work especially from the girl who started sw with me and fell off the wagon immediately. She tries to force me to eat whatever treat is going I assume to make herself feel better, its getting me down

Hackedabove · 06/02/2016 08:18

WeShouldOpenABar so do you have absolutely no syns in the week?

I find drinking tea keeps me going between meals, but it's one syn with milk.

calzone · 06/02/2016 08:38

Fridge......you are definitely not eating enough.

Your plate needs to be filled with 1/3 speed vegetables, salad.

Could you try eating breakfast which will kickstart your metabolism? You could have the banana and yoghurt for breakfast and then some eggs, ham and salad for lunch.....

EmilyK83 · 06/02/2016 09:24

Well done on losses everyone!!

Well...I had a meal out last night which was way over Syns but well worth it! Greek Cypriot restaurant - this pic shows just some of what my sister and I ate!! Had only had 22 of 60 Syns over the 4 days since weigh in, though, so hoping it won't have done too much damage...

Going to try and do SP days till I'm weighed on Tues morning, today may look something like this...

B - fruit, Alpen Light

L - homemade soup with second HexB bread

D - some kind of stew with swede or celeriac or butternut mash

Already walked 2.5 miles this morning too! Grin

DamedifYouDo · 06/02/2016 11:32

WI for me today (online member) feeling a bit down as I maintained this week. I was ill with flu when I weighed last week and I think last weeks loss was not really a "true" loss as I was sick.
I've lost 12.5 lb since Jan 2 which is great, I even had a blow out weekend in London two weeks ago so I shouldn't feel down but half a pound loss would have really put a smile on my face!
Never mind I'm going to stay motivated!!!! My jeans are looser and I feel better, I picked up a 10 lb bag of potatoes when I was shopping and it made me realise that I've already lost more than that.

Gusthetheatrecat · 06/02/2016 11:55

Hello all,
Not been on this thread before so have just been reading some of your meal plans to get some ideas.
I have come to ask for a virtual kick up the arse as I started SW on the 1st Jan, have stuck to it absolutely religiously, and have lost so far about 4kg. I can really feel the difference and my clothes are getting looser.
So far so good. Then I fell off the waggon 3 days ago and ate a pain au chocolat and since then it's like I opened the floodgates and I have eaten something entirely off-plan every day.
I think I often do this with dieting: make some progress and feel pleased with myself, then remember how far I've got to go to my goal and get dispirited and give up. So I need not to fall into this trap this time! I want to lose at least the equivalent of a stone and a half. Probably more. I am going to do SW for 6 months and see how I get on.
How do you all cope when you've made some progress but then look ahead and realise you have come only a tiny way so far?!

WeShouldOpenABar · 06/02/2016 12:33

Hacked I usually have no syns during the week but one or two wouldn't bother me , I just like to be a bit looser on the weekend it works for me

Buttwing · 06/02/2016 12:42

Hi all buggered up a bit last night and ate half a packet of biscuits gaaah! I do wonder sometimes whether I will ever have a normal relationship with food. Was waiting for dd to finish her class this morning having a cup of tea (with skimmed milk!) in m and s and seemed to be surrounded by thin people eating cake.

Sorry bit of a pity party today feeling crap and think I've broken my finger on a sodding frozen chicken of all things (s'ok you can laugh)

B-nothing

L-baked potato, chilli, and salad

D-beef casserole with lots of veg

Buttwing · 06/02/2016 12:43

Oh and welcome gus I try and focus on getting to my next award or into the next stone. If I look at the big picture I get disheartened.

Wibblewobble100 · 06/02/2016 13:01

Hey all, need some motivation. I feel like I take two steps forward one step back. I m loosing but not consistently. Been at it since mid November (11 weeks) and I'm 9.5 lb down. It's much better than 9.5 lb on or staying at start weight which is probably where I'd be if I hadn't joined, but it's a bit disheartening when some people loose that much in a week! I have a pattern... 2.5-3 lb off the week after my period, 0.5-1 lb off the next week, maintain then next week, 1 lb on the next week and the cycle restarts. I'm on plan I suppose 80% of the time if I'm realistic so there is room to tighten up but sometimes life just gets in the way. Can who ever has the stick wave it at me please?

Wibblewobble100 · 06/02/2016 13:05

So far today...
B 1/2 banana grapes fat free yoghurt and a boiled egg tea with milk
S Costa skinny cappuccino.

Need more speed and water...

cowboylover · 06/02/2016 13:15

Stick waving; more speed foods, more water and small steps people, we can get there!

After 4 days of waking up and thinking about Rice Krispies (of all things!) I gave in but measured out a 5 syn portion and really enjoyed them so can move on now Smile

Horrible storms here and feel like I'm going to get blown off the mountain but really need to go and get some food shopping as running so low now but at least DH is home later from his week away so I don't need to drag DD out in it either. Just now to work out what to have!

Anyone made anything out of the magazine yet this month? Eyeing up the chicken and spinach lasagne for later this week.

ChessieFL · 06/02/2016 13:21

WI today, lost 0.5 lb which I'm pleased with after last weekend's brownie overload and meal out yesterday. 4.5 lb to target!

Gusthetheatrecat · 06/02/2016 15:18

Cowboylover - more speed foods, more water and small steps. That's a good mantra. I am trying to remember about small steps (and not to wail, 'I've had no cake since December, when will I be THIIIIIIN?!')
Also derailed by being ill at the moment, which always makes me want to eat carbs and sweets.
Will press onwards. Going to read the whole thread to see if anyone has any good ideas for snacks. Am a veggie, well, pescatarian, and finding anything to eat between meals that isn't just mountains of fruit a bit tricky.

calzone · 06/02/2016 15:27

Welcome all you newbies.

I am the keeper of the Big Stick which I wave at you threateningly to scare you to stay on plan.

So, a little history......

I began SW on January 4 2015 and weighed in at 14st 3lbs. I was horrified. Lost 9lbs in my first week and am currently 42 lbs down. I now weigh 11st 5lbs.

Slimming World is a way of life. Cooking in a no fat/low fat way is what I do now. When I occasionally go off plan and binge eat, I feel physically ill. I know I will be doing this for life. I also know I am only 5lbs to target and then I won't have to pay! :-)

But life happens. Nights out, parties, anniversaries, birthdays, Xmas, Easter.....the point is to get back on plan ASAP. There are 21 meals in a week. If you have one meal off plan it shouldn't wreck your whole week.

Top tips

Meal plan
Make every meal delicious. There is nothing delicious about a Mugshot.
1/3 plate has to have speed food
Drink lots of water
Keep a diary of everything you eat
Surround yourself by everything SW.....on FB, IG, join the social team if you can, join your SW FB group.
Support each other and just be honest with yourself.

Do you really want that biscuit or will it trigger you to eat all the biscuits? Know your triggers and avoid them.

Pep talk over.

Am going to post my before and current photo for new ones again. Sorry to those who have seen it.
