Hey Bendy, don't lose heart Brew
I'd suggest keeping a food and exercise diary long term, good and bad weeks .Then when you have a great loss like you did recently you can look back at what meals resulted in this, and when have a gain, what foods aren't working for you.
Todays food looks ok, but next time for an SP breakfast you need at least half a plate of speed veg or fruit with your eggs and toast . If you think something BIG missing, check your wholemeal bread weights , all cereals are in the book- some instant porridges aren't and that you fill plate with a third to half of speed veg first rather than add it on top .I found I was serving my usual portion sometimes, then piling veg on top and stuffing myself, rather than the extra veg reducing my meat and carb amounts if you know what I mean! Hope you have a good week (hugs)

EmilyK83 · 03/02/2016 12:35

Keep going Bendy - you can do it!

Plans for today:

B - bacon, eggs, tomatoes, beans and 2 satsumas

L - leftover smoked salmon pate with carrot sticks and celery

D - Secret Sausages (veggie sausages - 0.5 Syns each) with mash and veg

Syns - 1.5 for 3 sausages, then probably more on chocolate later...

Buttwing · 03/02/2016 12:52

Keep going bendy I agree with doing a food diary it really helps me focus when things have been going slower than I would like.

I had a horrendous night with youngest child last night so I'm knackered which is always dangerous for me as I hit the sugar. I've just had a (far too) big bowl of spaghetti bolognese in the hope that it will keep the sugar cravings at bay!

B-banana

Hifi

L-spaghetti bolognese

D-chicken curry and rice

Buttwing · 03/02/2016 12:54

Oh and for lamb mince I get lean leg steaks and ask the butcher to mince it. I know supermarkets will do it too if you buy the lamb from the meat counter.

Nutter123 · 03/02/2016 13:12

It's my weigh-in tonight. Had a hashbrown, poached egg and beans for breakfast.

Sn - fruit.

Have a way a sabotaging myself. Should have stayed away from the hashbrown. Somewhere between 10-12 syns. Overall it's been a good week.

EmilyK83 · 03/02/2016 13:59

If it's been a good week, butter, hopefully the hash brown will have no effect...fingers crossed!

Have just been shopping to buy a load of treats, which I'll be making up 5 syn and 10 syn snack bags with - things like mini meringues (1.5 Syns for two), Hartley's sugar-free jelly pots (0.5 Syns each), treat size Fudge bars (3 Syns each) - will hopefully make me stick to my syn allowance and stop me going over! I don't often use Syns in meals - save them for sweet treats instead 😊

emwithme · 03/02/2016 15:20

WI day tomorrow, and we're having a free food taster. I'm taking some chilled iceland meatballs. I really don't like them hot but cold they're bloody delicious.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.

Waitrose free latte (HEA)
Snacks: Berries and yoghurt, apple, satsumas.
Dinner: Iceland burgers, salad.

Hifi bars (HEB)

BasinHaircut · 03/02/2016 16:38

Nutter if you like a hash brown them try making some. Grate a potato and squeeze the moisture out in a tea towel, mix with egg, salt and pepper and fry for a couple of mins on each side (spray oil) then stick in the oven for 10 mins. Delicious and free!

maygirl · 03/02/2016 17:27

B grapenuts cereal, raspberries, yogurt
L SW quiche with aubergine, tomato, peppers, mushrooms, half HeA mozzarella . Cucumber and tomatoes. Other half HeA milk.
Sn gammon, Apple, Satsuma, square choc (2) sweets from DCs (4)
D tasters at group.
Sure will have gained weight, really bloated with * week Sad

Nutter123 · 03/02/2016 19:06

FannyFanakapan · 03/02/2016 19:23

L: Leftover Spag bol, 1 slice bread (1/2 hex b), 1 babybel light (2) grated over.
d: CHicken pie without the pastry (synning 4 - for flour and 3% creme fraiche). New pots and veg. Strawbs, banana and muller.

Nutter123 · 03/02/2016 19:28

4th weigh-in = 4lbs off.

Overall down 10.5lbs in 4 weeks. Am very happy. Going in the right direction.

Another 60 Togo. SmileGrin

BendydickCuminsnatch · 03/02/2016 19:28

Ok today I have eaten:

B: Eggs on toast HEB#1
Snack: Options yoghurt with peach 2.5syns
L: Beans on toast HEB#2 and huge salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomato, spinach, balsamic vinegar
Snack: HEA cheese and apple
3 organix carrot sticks 1 syn
Lots of ham
D: chicken and veg stir fry

Tea, coffee, loads of water, sparkling water

4 syns for milk in tea so in total 7.5syns.

Pretty typical day. Did go a bit off-piste with the baby's organix carrot sticks... Blush

Absolutely ravenous today and still am, only just had dinner! Lots of people here seem to eat very little and I just eat like a horse :(

EmilyK83 · 03/02/2016 19:36

Nicely done Nutter! Same 4 week loss as me! Grin

Here's tonight's dinner: Veggie sausages (Secret Sausages chilli and coriander - 0.5 Syns each), cheesy mash (with HexA), syn-free onion gravy and spinach! So good! 😍

BasinHaircut · 03/02/2016 19:48

emily how are you making that syn free onion gravy? It looks lush!

Well done nutter!

Bendy that does sound like quite a lot of food written down! Sorry that's not v helpful! I'm sure someone more experienced can add something more constructive for you!

My day:
B - porridge with skimmed milk, banana
L - leftover cauliflower sauce macaroni
D - veg curry, chicken, basmati rice, green beans, onion, tomato and cucumber salad
Sn - pear, satsuma

EmilyK83 · 03/02/2016 19:54

It was a bit of an experiment! Sliced 2 onions and cooked till soft, then added 700ml beef stock mixed with about a tsp of marmite, plus around a tbsp of tomato purée, some dried thyme and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Then cooked on low for about an hour and a half until it had thickened! Bit of effort, but wanted to see if it worked...going to make a bigger batch next time and freeze the rest!

BasinHaircut · 03/02/2016 20:12

Sounds amazing!

Pisghetti · 03/02/2016 20:23

You can't Syn yogurts on an SP day. If a yogurt is say 1 or 2 Syns then that's 10-20 calories meaning that in calculating the Syns a free food allowance has been applied. This info graphic turns up on our FB page quite often and it's a useful quick guide to SP. remember half a plate of speed food:

Slimming World Support Thread 2016 (2)
Pisghetti · 03/02/2016 20:28

I'm still totally lurgified. All the soft foods. Today has been
B - sweet omelette with lemon flavoured quark and raspberries
L - butternut squash soup with a wholemeal roll HeB and a slice of cheddar HeA
D - pasta n sauce 1.5 Syns plus 2nd HeA milk, quorn pieces, peas and sweetcorn

2 x hotel chocolat patisserie chocs 7

Sugar free jelly 2 Syns plus squirty cream 1 Syn

BendydickCuminsnatch · 03/02/2016 20:42

Pisghetti, so even non-free yoghurts can't be synned?? e.g. a crunch corner which is clearly never free Confused

Buttwing · 03/02/2016 20:56

I eat a similar amount to that bendy I'm a big eater it's not slowed me down the chocolate does that
I asked my consultant if you could have yogurt with Syns in on an sp day and she said yes. Your Syns can be used on what ever you want on an sp day so if you want a bag of crisps you can.
I've heard some people disagreeing with this on here, but I can't see the difference between a muller corner or a mini curly wurly as long as they are within your Syns.
However you can't create a syn value for free yogurts by using the 20 calls= a syn thing.

All very Confused

BendydickCuminsnatch · 03/02/2016 20:58

Aha I see.

God I am so down in the dumps today and SW is adding to it today ha! Oh well tomorrow is a new day, thanks for the tips everyone.

Nutter123 · 03/02/2016 21:33

Thanks Emily, treated myself sw chips. Xxx

Akire · 03/02/2016 21:43

Was confused over SP days too seems cut out carbs with food which I get but then can have 2x healthy b which is 4 slices small whole meal loaf and that's ok!

Am on doing online too so the info is there but can seem confusing. Lost 2lb this week but mainly because had virus so didn't Bearly eat for 4 days - lost 4 lb then starting eaten and put on 2lb in 2 days. So fully expecting to have put on and not lost next week.

Going to try and have SP day to see which helps.

OrianaBanana · 03/02/2016 22:01

0.5 on this week. That'll be the three course meal plus half bottle of wine from Saturday although I was on plan the rest of the week, heroically declining sticky toffee pudding.. Fair enough I suppose.

Now for a good week and trying to shed those 3lbs I still need to get back to pre -Christmas weight!
