Ok first day don't think I've got the hang of it yet
Breakfast porridge pre measured pouch with skimmed milk
Lunch a chicken mug shot hoping this is ok ???
Evening fish dinner my husband made so unclear as to amounts of oil but he promised minimal😳plus two satsumas and two small glasses of wine
Can't think this will make a difference as not really any change from usual

ginorwine · 29/01/2016 22:53

Nutter123 · 29/01/2016 22:56

Evening everyone

This is my first time, it's been really motivating to read the highs and lows and how to move past it. Overall I need to loose 5 Stones, so this is my big push till I achieve it.

My first weigh in was 6th Jas, progress so far:

Week 1- 7.5 lbs loss(shocked) always struggled to loose weight, so how this happened, no idea.

Week 2 - 0.5 loss

Week 3 - 1.5 lbs gain. Not surprised as I had eaten out all weekend. Nearly didn't go to weigh in but glad I did.

Back on the plan this week, so we will see hopefully good news for my 1St month.

I have 2 kids so not eating left overs and snacks is hard work.

emwithme · 29/01/2016 23:35

I've just had a jam roly poly hifi bar. Bloody hell they're sweet - and not a nice round sweetness, but an awful artificial-strawberry fake sweetness.

I had to have two chocolate orange ones to get the taste out of my mouth.

BLEURGH.

tabulahrasa · 30/01/2016 00:05

Sounbelievablydull - assuming the porridge was a b choice and not synned...

I think chicken mugshots are free, but I don't eat them so I'm not completely sure.

Oil is 6 syns per tablespoon.

Wine is 6 syns for 175ml, which is probably smaller than most people have at home, so you're potentially over your syns.

Really as well, you should be having a third speed with every meal as well.

ginorwine - I'd try to cut syns the rest of the week if it was me, it sometimes works and is more sensible than missing meals...but I wouldn't stress too much about cutting back as that can backfire and you end up blowing the whole week instead of just having that one meal that's over.

annatha · 30/01/2016 00:30

Any ideas for jazzing up baked oats? Made them earlier with a vanilla and coconut yogurt and it tasted like a yummy coconut macaroon. A bit too cakey for breakfast but it made a v filling pud.

wowser3 · 30/01/2016 07:34

Saturday weigh in here. Lost a pound and half. Slow but sure this slimming world, I'm glad to be seeing losses :) Had some milkybar mini eggs for brekkie to celebrate (only 30g mind you, weighed and synned like a good girl)
But oh god, we are going out for an Indian tonight , wouldn't choose Indian myself but we have vouchers for it. What the hell am I going to eat without having a zillion syns???? Doesn't help when my family yak the piss out of me too for having a healthy option. Like when I brought my own slimming world meats to a BBQ once, I never heard the last of it! Any tips for Indian out there please ? :/

maygirl · 30/01/2016 08:44

Luckily my consultant chopped up jam roly poly hi fi for us to taste, didn't like the aftertaste either so didn't buy any.
Indian meals I go for chicken or prawn shashlick as its tandoori style with a load of grilled peppers tomatoes and onions, or steamed spiced fish , cooked in banana leaves sometimes. Have great weekend all

Buttwing · 30/01/2016 09:46

The nicest yogurts I've found are Aldi Greek style. They are nicer than the muller and free. I really struggle to use Syns for yogurt!!

I'm out on my last of three nights out tonight, it's a black tie dinner so I have no control over the food and I'm planning to have a drink as the kids are going for a sleep over with granny.

On a good note I bought a slinky size 12 dress which I feel pretty good in, Ive had a tan done and I'm off for hair and nails today. It will be so nice to feel "done" for a change instead of tracky bottoms accessorised with snot and yogurtGrin

DamedifYouDo · 30/01/2016 10:17

Weigh in day for me today (online member). I'm really pleased that I have lost 5.6 kg (12 Lb 3oz) in four weeks!!!! I went to London last weekend and was definitely over my syns with a cream tea and cocktails, I'm over the moon to have been able to pull it back during the week and to have still lost 1.7 kg. I have more than 6 stone to go so it's going to be a long road but I'm actually finding it doable, I don't feel hungry or deprived - if I really want something then I will have it, enjoy it and not feel guilty, but I'm finding that I don't want to waste my syns on rubbish.
I have a bad cold today and don't feel much like eating so will be making a big pan of veg soup. Family dinner will be spag bol so I can have some if I feel like it. May have some bread with my soup (hx a) milk in drinks (hx b)

DamedifYouDo · 30/01/2016 10:20

I'm not a big fan of mullerlights but I really love the Lidl Milbona greek style lemon / strawberry / coconut vanilla yogurts. (free)

BasinHaircut · 30/01/2016 11:41

Thanks for the yoghurt recommendations! Went Tesco so got the muller Greek ones.

Will look out for the Aldi ones though as I go there some weeks.

knowler · 30/01/2016 11:43

Those milbona yogurts are lush! I like the strawberry one. I've found lidl quite good for a lot of sw friendly things - their 5% fat mince is really tasty.

maygirl · 30/01/2016 11:53

Have a great time buttwing! My kids also going for a sleep over at grannies tonight, DH and I are going out and breaking dry January a bit early ! Going to go for steak or other grilled meats with salad + 2-3 glasses of wine. We are both going to continue cutting out alcohol except on special occasions as both feeling better for it and I've had one of my best months weight loss wise, even though I never had loads and counted the syns.
B porridge heB, raspberries, heA milk. Honey (1)
Banana, yogurt (0.5)
L Jacket potato with hm coronation chicken (1.5), salad.
Fruit if need a snack,
D date night Grin
Just done 2 hrs @ gym

maygirl · 30/01/2016 11:54

Well done on today's weight losses!

Heyheyheygoodbye · 30/01/2016 11:57

Yesterday...

B - apple and clementine. Tea hexa.
L - muller and raspberries (still full from the chippy the night before!)
D - salmon, sugar snap peas, baby potatoes with a tbsp of mayo 5 syns. Curly Wurly 6 syns.

So far today I've had an apple and a banana.

ChessieFL · 30/01/2016 13:45

Maintained today. Disappointed with that as I've been 100% on plan all week. Normally there's at least 1 high syn day per week where I treat myself and I usually still manage to lose, but was good all week and didn't lose! So annoying. I resisted a doughnut at work on Thursday, wish I'd had the bloody thing now! I'd probably still have maintained and I wouldn't have felt deprived. Trying not to go into sod-it mode now.

annatha · 30/01/2016 17:32

3lb down and slimmer of the month!

Right, what are you all taking in for free food February?

BasinHaircut · 30/01/2016 17:36

Come on people! Lots of people feeling a bit shit about this week and thinking 'fuck it' but we are in this together!

I propose a pact of not saying 'fuck it' next month ('no fuck it feb' if you like Grin) in addition to no cheeky mid-week weigh-ins.

Who is in?

Tonight is the long awaited Indian takeaway treat. DH and I both maintained this week so we were clearly doing something wrong this week but I've done a very speed food friendly shop today and have planned all of next week's meals already. Plus we are going to re-evaluate portion sizes.

Overall Jan was a 10lb loss for both me and DH, so can't grumble too much

ChessieFL · 30/01/2016 18:56

I like the sound of no-fuck-it-Feb basin , I'm in! Would love to get to target by the end of Feb.

Off for a day out tomorrow, but we made soup today so I'll take that in a flask to have for lunch so should have a good day food-wise.

calzone · 30/01/2016 19:01

Heyheyheygoodbye · 30/01/2016 19:26

I'm in Basin! I've lost about 8lb in Jan but that's still not all my sodding Christmas gain gone!! Grrrr. And I have a few events which I really want to enjoy in Feb so definitely need to be strict the rest of the time!

EmilyK83 · 30/01/2016 19:44

Well done losers..and I'm with you there, Basin!!

Today's been a good day so far, just 3 Syns. Think I'll have a few cheeky ones tonight, though...

B - satsuma and herbal tea

L - half a tub of Glorious Skinnylicious Thai carrot soup (HexB - and it was lush), salad and a small jacket potato with cottage cheese (big lunch - I should eat more for breakfast...)

D - Big Mac in a bowl again, with lettuce, tomato, swede chips and 3 Syns for thousand island dressing.

Determined to have shifted 2lb this week - weigh in on Tues. If I manage it, it'll take me to under 14 stone for the first time in years...

Nutter123 · 30/01/2016 20:23

Hi I'm in Basin... Had a good start to the day and had a latte with semi-skimmed milk at 4 o'clock, as I hadn't used any syns, the coffe shop didn't have skimmed.

Then got home with he kids as gave into (6.5, t6.5syns) thinking I hadn't had any syns. A bit of a treat- only realising after I had. Confused. Overall 12 syns today.

Keeping motivated Smile

Ain626 · 30/01/2016 20:58

Is it possible to eat too much free food?

I know it's 'free' and I've been told I can eat as much as I want of it... But I have got crazy cravings for raspberries. I've eaten a LOT of them the past few days.

But they are speed... so it's all good right? Hmm
