I've been asked to bring in something sweet which is a bugger.

The smoked salmon terrine on the website went down an absolute storm, as did the smoked salmon bites (wrapped with cottage cheese and rocket).

I made the chocolate orange squares once which were popular, I left off the mandarin segments to lower the syn value. But it's all a bit of a faff.

1/2 on. Well fucked off with that, but it is what it is and there's nothing I can do about it. Just waiting for DH to come home from work and then we're off to the hospital, where I will have icky drops put in my eyes and the the World's Brightest Light will be shone in them (hence me not being able to go alone).

BasinHaircut · 28/01/2016 13:26

Oh god em is that the pupil dilating stuff? I had that once and no one warned my that I wouldn't be able to actually see afterwards, just not to drive.

I had to come home on the bus (on my own) and the whole way I looked at the floor and had to wear my scarf over my face as it was too bright otherwise! Luckily the bus stop was outside the hospital and at the end of my road, otherwise I'm not sure I would have made it.

Chin up though, bet we will all have weeks like that

OrianaBanana · 28/01/2016 13:45

Sorry em, I hope it goes OK.

Feeling better today but hope to stay on plan (and off syns) this eve.

B - bacon roll (13 syns for white bap oops), nectarine, coffee with milk (half HExA)
L - mug shot, kiwi, banana
D - tuna steak with a few SW chips, lots of speed veg
S - clementine, apple, hifi light (half HExB), laughing cow blue wedge cheese and Finn crisp (other half hex a and hex b)

Well I went last night and I lost half a pound!! I wasn't expecting that! I'm so glad I went now and I even weighed in my jeans, it really motivated me I went out last night and had diet coke all night and steak and salad for dinner. I'm being really good today as I've got lunch out tomorrow and a night out on Saturday.

B-coffee and Hifi bar (not great but was running v late)

L-mango and Greek yogurt

D-hmm not sure yet maybe chicken madra and rice or spaghetti bolognese.

giraffesarefab · 28/01/2016 14:20

Weigh in day today, lost 2.5lbs so that's 1st week - 5.5lbs, 2nd week- 2lbs, today - 2.5lbs so 10lbs in 3 weeks. Well pleased but a long way to go yet x

alleypalley · 28/01/2016 14:52

Hi, I was on the last thread briefly but have been struggling to re-focus post Christmas. This week at weigh in I put a lb on so I really need a kick up the arse.

Yesterday was good, all on plan. 11.5 syns used. Today is going well so far, 8 syns used on avocado on my salad for lunch.

annatha · 28/01/2016 17:09

20 syns worth of milk tray gone in minutes. Ffs.

KittyOShea · 28/01/2016 17:30

I missed last night's weigh in as spent the night in a and e with a friend who'd had a car accident. Thankfully she's okay. Then I ate my way through the food machine in the waiting room so probably had about 4 million syns.

I have a lot of making up to do and am visiting my sister this weekend so will be difficult to stay on plan.

calzone · 28/01/2016 18:37

What annoys me is that it's a lot of chopping to put on weight. :-)

Fresh fruit every day
Speed foods
Speed vegetables

I do use frozen but trying to make every meal bright and colourful and tasty and then to put on is a bugger.

FuckedUpFanjo · 28/01/2016 18:41

I'm not going to admit exactly how much chocolate and biscuits I've had over the past 2 days but it is a LOT. My meals have been fine but I've completely ruined it with the treats! Yesterday I didn't feel guilty at all, by today I did it again and am annoyed it wasn't a one-off.

But it has been a bad week, I'm alone with DS, we've both had colds, had absolutely no plans and seen nobody except the GP, and I've got my 3rd post partum period and my cravings have been INSANE. Tonight I'm having pastito AND chips - id never normally double carb but I neeeeeeeed to! I have a speed day planned for tomorrow, so should be good. I like planning ahead, I should do it for non-speed days too, I find it easy to stick to.

Welliesandwings · 28/01/2016 19:00

Weigh day today, another 1lb off so that's 9lb in three weeks. I'm finding it hard this week, craving bread and butter like mad but I've resisted so far. I tried the Muller light peanut and caramel yogurt today.....they can keep it. I think I'll stick to the apple strudel one and the vanilla one with dark chocolate flecks in it.

BasinHaircut · 28/01/2016 19:42

I'm having a beige meal tonight. Someone and into the office with fish and chips earlier and as I had nothing else planned for dinner it's all I could think about . It's tinned for baked in the oven and SW chips though so sort of on plan as its all free, just no speed foods.

Might have some ketchup and mayonnaise with it though .

This is what happens when you don't plan! First time since we started almost 4 weeks ago that I haven't known what was for dinner in advance though so could have been worse.

OrianaBanana · 28/01/2016 20:11

Ooh yeah that peanut caramel mullerlight is rank! Angry

maygirl · 28/01/2016 20:58

Hope everyone is doing ok.
today B porridge heB, milk HEA, sweet freedom syrup (0.5),apple
hi fi (3)
miso soup with noodles, grated carrot and spinach (1)
crisps (6.5) sweet (2) apple
smoked haddock, green beans, broccoli, parsnip, potato, cabbage

low on fruit, syns gone, feeling hungry and a bit like could go off plan...better find some yogurt!

emwithme · 28/01/2016 21:05

Basin , yes, it's the dilating drops. It actually gets easier the more times I have them (it's been three in the past year) because I know what to expect - I have my sunglasses with me so I don't suffer so much afterwards! The appointment went well - they think I have Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension which is improved with weight loss - I have felt better since being back on SW so they're just going to review me in 6 months or so. Hopefully I will have lost more weight and feel better so I won't have to have a lumbar puncture.

Went TOTALLY off plan with food at lunch, though. We got to the Eye Hospital in plenty of time to get lunch at the pub over the road (where I was planning on having steak and salad) - or so we thought - after 20 minutes DH still hadn't even been served at the bar (and there were only five people ahead of him when he got there) and the barman said it would likely be 45 minutes even if we only wanted sandwiches. So we went to Burger King Grin.

It was FUCKING DELICIOUS. I had a whopper and fries (and a diet coke Grin ) so that's 30.5 syns for the whopper and 9 for the fries.

But I am back on plan tonight. Have had HM soup (free) and a SW Iceland ready meal is in the microwave as I type this.

And then tomorrow is my interview

EmilyK83 · 28/01/2016 21:15

I was obviously hungry tonight...just ate all of this wrap pizza AND the salad AND the bowl of SW chips! (The other one was the bf's, I promise!!)

Ain626 · 28/01/2016 21:38

Is it ever possible to eat too much of the same thing? I am having some serious craving issues with raspberries!!! (At least I'm craving a speed food!) I've eaten a fair few of them in the past couple of days!

FannyFanakapan · 28/01/2016 22:26

Ain626 - any chance you could be expecting... Grin

B: Toast, with Pastrami, laughing cow lightest cheese triangle (1) salad and tomato - yum.
l: chicken noodle soup. Muller.
Sn: Half a pineapple, FF greek yoghurt. Orange.
d: Meatloaf, new potatoes, fennel, carrots, sugar snap peas. Muller.

1 hobnob (3.5 syns of lovely crumbliness)

Ain626 · 28/01/2016 22:40

I would love to be expecting Fanny ! So fingers crossed it is a symptom! Wink though unlikely as I have pcos and am currently trying to lose weight so that I can convince the fertility clinic to give me clomid.

Sounbelievablydull · 28/01/2016 23:16

Please can I join? I started sw this evening. I weigh more than I ever ever have before 13.9 so for me to have a normal bmi which is my dream there is clearly a long way to go.
I hope I'm going to be able to understand it all as it feels overwhelming at the moment. I haven't dieted for twenty years hence the obesity!!!
Thinking carefully about what I can get in for dinners this week

FannyFanakapan · 29/01/2016 07:12

SOund, the first couple of weeks are hard, not diet wise, because you are still eating loads, but its working out what you can and cannot eat, the syn values of things you might think are healthy but are high in syns, and the inevitable sugar craving. Plan, Plan and Plan, try new recipes, look at how you can add more veg and less faat to your existing repertoire of dishes.

If in doubt, come and ask us!

BasinHaircut · 29/01/2016 08:31

em Grin I bet that whopper was amazing. 30syns!!!

sound it looks really confusing at first but within a week you will be flying!

Remember to try and have speed food (preferably one third of the plate) with each meal.

One healthy extra A and one B every day (I use mine on porridge with skimmed milk and rest of milk allowance in tea, so I know that if I want a slice of bread or some cheese I have to syn it)

And plan and keep a record of everything you eat. Always have the next day's meals planned out so that you don't end up having to eat on the go (shop sandwiches are a syn killer!) If it's not on the plan and been counted for already, don't eat it.

Also - you can find the syn value of most things if you google it. If not, then 20kcal = 1 syn to be safe.

Good luck and welcome! Everyone on here is v nice and helpful so as fanny says just come here if you need help. There is usually someone around.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 29/01/2016 09:57

Totally forgot I was meant to be doing a speed day today, but turns out my breakfast was OK anyway:

Today:
B: banana, peach, cherries, blueberries and raspberries with chocolate yoghurt (2 syns) over Grin
Snack: HEB1 marmite toast
Lunch: cooked breakfast Grin
Dinner: not sure, I have some leftover salmon in the fridge, so maybe a salad?

WeShouldOpenABar · 29/01/2016 12:56

I've lost 5.5 pounds in January hope to get to half stone next week.

I'm wavering a bit now , not for any reason really I'm not feeling deprived at all but this is usually where I throw in the towel. So I am re-affirming my commitment to slimming world Smile

I'll probably have to do that once a month , its my personal vow not to let it fall by the wayside.
