I was on here back in August and all was going well. Lost 6.5lbs in first week. Then I got a cold and my brain wouldn't let me stay on track. Anyway, back on it and more determined than ever. I only have a stone to lose so really should only take 4 or 5 weeks, but I'm feeling so deflated. The first week I only lost 2 lbs. I'm on week 2 (weigh in is Monday) and I weighed myself today thinking that the weight I didn't shift last week must have come off now to give me a good solid week 2 weight loss (hoping for at least 3 or 4lbs - as the 2 times I've done it in the past I lose that much for 2 weeks then it slows to 2-3lbs after that). I know I should have waited until Monday but I've only lost 1lb. With 2.5days until I officially weigh in I feel really down. I've followed it - no cheating. I actually felt like I'd lost weight but clearly it's just my brain tricking me.

Please motivate me - I just want to fit my jeans again!

-1lb last night. I was slightly gutted, but remembered all the homemade fudge I'd eaten on Monday!!!

My sister followed success express ( 1/3 free, 2/3 super free) and lost 4lbs!!!! I've decided to give it a go. My main problem is when I get home from work, I can't be bothered to start chopping loads of veg.

I've followed it before and the only way I could do 2/3 super free is to have a small portion of my normal dinner and then fill my plate with veg. Trying to incorporate in spaghetti Bol etc. doesn't work for me.

I've also heard a lot about drinking green tea to help with weight loss. Has anyone tried it??

-3.5lbs this morning. That's over 2 weeks but I'm still happy with it. I really wanted another half pound so I got to a stone and a half. I'll get it next week.

holidaysarenice · 09/11/2013 12:16

Well done anti

Veg wise - sometimes I go on aa massive chopping spree and keep it in the fridge chopped? Or I buy pree chopped.

If I'm at work it ends up being peas, sweetcorn or cherry tomatoes with dinner. Easy to chuck in veg.

princess have 3 really good days until monday and I bet you can have another half pound. And where u wearing the same clothes?

cuggles · 09/11/2013 14:10

hi quick question please as whilst I still have my food directory, I have lent my books out and need to start slimming world again...is Pitta Bread (wholemeal) a HE B?? I can see it has a syn value of 7 in the directory but is it allowed as a HE? Thanks in advance.

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 10/11/2013 10:10

Hi everyone, can I please join you?

I have tried to lose weight for years on and off but have just gained gradually due to stress, emotional eating and absolutely no self control. Last year I have tried Weight Watchers and it did work but I am now in my first year of teaching at a primary school and I had to give up completely as I just don't have time to weigh everything. It's just not possible at all.

So I thought I would try slimming world as it seems a bit more flexible. I have all the materials good to go and think I know what I am doing. I am not sure HOW one can lose weight though when eating pasta, loads of beans etc, but I would love for it to work.

The only thing I am a bit confused by is the super free food. How can you measure that it's always a third? So let's say I make a pasta sauce with carrots and tinned tomatoes, would that be good enough? And for breakfast could I just add an apple?

I hope to lose some weight by Christmas as I am going to see family members I haven't seen in a while and I don't want them to see how much weight I have put on this year as I feel really embarrassed Blush I don't have many nice clothes at the moment either so would be great to fit into the lovely stuff in my closet again, even just a few more pieces would make a huge difference.

Also, and this is going to sound really sad and vain, DP has been dropping some hints and I think there might be an engagement to announce within the next few months and I want to wear something nice for that or take a picture to send to (elderly) family members that I don't hate.

So yes that's my motivation at the moment. I think I will struggle with not eating sweets, cakes and stuff, both at home and in the staff room.

My scales are in kg and grams but I just converted it and my starting weight is now 13st and approximately 7.4lb which gives me a BMI of 29.7 and the upper end of obese :(

Starting with some light meals today but properly starting tomorrow when my food shop delivery has arrived.

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 10/11/2013 10:10

Oh god that's long, I am sorry. But it felt good to write it all down somehow.

Minimammoth · 10/11/2013 10:26

Hi Wannabe, I have found that just adding extra veg to things seems to work on dishes like rice past and casseroles, so maybe add courgette, onion and mushrooms to the pasta sauce. Serve with a side salad. The S. W website has some good recipe ideas, that give you an idea how to work it. I have found that after years of calory counting and still not losing weight the SW system works for me, I am actually eating more, and sometimes I do just eat an extra piece of fruit.
Good luck with it.

Hello everyone, I didn't make it to group last week, we were at a local firework display - I was planning to go to group afterwards but it was cold and late and I just couldn't be arsed. So I treated myself to a hotdog, chips and a hot chocolate instead Blush. Have been much better since then though, managed to stay within my syns and been to the gym a couple of times so I'm hoping I may get my 2.5lbs off this week to get my 5 stone award. Fingers crossed for WI on Tuesday!

I find a good way to make sure I get my 1/3 superfree is to just shove a pile of salad on the side of most meals. So if I'm having spaghetti bolognese for example, the sauce will have tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and peppers in it and then I will have salad on the side so I know at least 1/3 if not 1/2 of my meal is superfree.

Steffanoid · 10/11/2013 18:58

hello Smile I'm on my 4th weigh in on tuesday, have lost 13lb over 3 weigh ins and won slimmer of the week last week, I am wondering what makes you win sotw? because I lost 5lb but another member lost 9lb so a bit Confused

Welcome wannabee, you are probably where I was when I started and yes I notice a difference already in clothes etc!

However I've had a caramel square, a bag of crisps, nan and poppadoms today!! - clearly not weighing in tomorrow!!

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 11/11/2013 07:23

Thanks for the welcome everyone :)

I have to say knowing that I would start my diet properly today I pigged out a bit last night with a take out, not good. Procrastinating healthy eating is one of the bad habits I hope to break with this.

So I weighed myself again today just to give me a better idea of a starting point and yes, the take out added 300g. Might not seem a lot but could mean the difference between a loss and no loss at the end of the week so now I at least know.

Holiday When did you start and how much have you lost?

I will have ryvita with laughing cow cheese and cucumber for breakfast-meanign HexA and B will be gone. Lunch will be a baked potato with ham-they usually serve it with butter too but I will try to avoid that today I think after looking it up on the list... I will ask for a side salad.

I packed two pieces of fruit and a mueller light yogurt for snacks throughout the day. Not sure about dinner yet but I have some fresh fish and salad in the fridge, might go for that.

midori1999 · 11/11/2013 10:57

Can I join in please? I joined SW last Weds so my first weigh in will be this Wed. I'm doing EE, which I haven't done before and I'm also Breastfeeding, so I'm a bit worried the weight won't come off as fast as it usually does and ill lose motivation. (I've done SW before and lost 3 stone with original and green days) I am going with a couple of friends though, so that may help.

Do people find a difference in how much you lose with EE compared to original/green?

shelby775 · 11/11/2013 13:44

another 1lb this week. after 2 hours of yoga and religious following of SW as a whole, and several Red days....

I cant have found my natural weight, I still morbidly obese, so why oh why will not the scales go down?!

Really confused about it at the moment. I dont want to have to eat boiled carrots for the majority of the week just to get a good WI, that defeats the object of SW.

Theres no sneaking, no miscounted syns nothing I can point point.

What I do know is that my weightloss graph on SWonline no longer has a dramatic sweeping downwards motion! ARghhhhh!

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 11/11/2013 19:36

I am not sure whether my day was very good.

Had ryvita with cheese but forgot my cucumber so ate a pear with it. Pear was gross as not ripe yet. Lunch was a baked potato with ham and leftover laughing cows, so by then I had finished my HEX A and B. So far so good but then I had three teas with milk which wasn't measured. I am assuming maybe 150ml? Can't have been more but my TA made them. And then I ate four big pieces of fizzy jelly sweets :(

Tonight I had some cucumber, spinach, salmon prepared with a tiny bit of olive oil and rice.

So let's say the sweets were two or three of those mini haribo bags as I obviously didn't weight them that makes 10 syns at least. Plus around 3.5 for semi skimmed milk. Now for the salmon I mixed 2 tablespoons of oil with lemon juice and herbs, it was half a salmon and I ate a fifth maybe? So 2.5 syns, although most of the juice seemed to drip off the fish. So at least 16 syns alhough it could be more for the sweets!?

Sorry this is a bit long I am just trying to work it all out. If anyone sees any huge mistakes with my calculations or the food I ate today please let me know. Bit upset I went over my allowance on my first day, even though it has been a huge change to my eating pattern as it is as I usually snack even more Blush
