Hi everyone, can I please join you?
I have tried to lose weight for years on and off but have just gained gradually due to stress, emotional eating and absolutely no self control. Last year I have tried Weight Watchers and it did work but I am now in my first year of teaching at a primary school and I had to give up completely as I just don't have time to weigh everything. It's just not possible at all.
So I thought I would try slimming world as it seems a bit more flexible. I have all the materials good to go and think I know what I am doing. I am not sure HOW one can lose weight though when eating pasta, loads of beans etc, but I would love for it to work.
The only thing I am a bit confused by is the super free food. How can you measure that it's always a third? So let's say I make a pasta sauce with carrots and tinned tomatoes, would that be good enough? And for breakfast could I just add an apple?
I hope to lose some weight by Christmas as I am going to see family members I haven't seen in a while and I don't want them to see how much weight I have put on this year as I feel really embarrassed
I don't have many nice clothes at the moment either so would be great to fit into the lovely stuff in my closet again, even just a few more pieces would make a huge difference.
Also, and this is going to sound really sad and vain, DP has been dropping some hints and I think there might be an engagement to announce within the next few months and I want to wear something nice for that or take a picture to send to (elderly) family members that I don't hate.
So yes that's my motivation at the moment. I think I will struggle with not eating sweets, cakes and stuff, both at home and in the staff room.
My scales are in kg and grams but I just converted it and my starting weight is now 13st and approximately 7.4lb which gives me a BMI of 29.7 and the upper end of obese :(
Starting with some light meals today but properly starting tomorrow when my food shop delivery has arrived.
