Well done Shifty Grin

ShiftyFades · 22/10/2013 22:54

Thanks Halloween, I was dreading weigh-in an I almost kissed the lady weighing me Smile

It's spurred me on. I'm determined to have no hiccups between now and Christmas.

Does anyone know if SW "shuts" for Christmas? Do we get a free week off?
I doubt I will want to go on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve Wink

Minimammoth · 23/10/2013 08:17

I couldn't get to weigh in so did my own and was up 2 lbs. urghh though not surprising hoping that a lot of it is bloating ( fooling self)

iloveaglassofwine · 23/10/2013 09:54

Can I join the sw fun too, please?

2 stones to lose, ideally a good chunk of that before Christmas. We had a taste session last night where everyone brought in their sw dishes and some of them tasted bloody gorgeous. Is there a thread where everyone posts their favourite recipe? If not, can we start one? Sometimes, I lack inspiration.

Minimammoth · 23/10/2013 11:13

We've had a few recipes on here ilove, post away. I love a good recipe me, especially if it works.

Darkesteyes · 23/10/2013 16:38

Well done on your losses. Half a pound off this week but i had a big loss last week so i dont mind.
People i havent seen for a while are starting to comment now Taxi driver last night (i had heavy bags of shopping SW food) so i got a cab says to me "Yove lost a lot of weight (only 11 pound but clothes are loose so perhaps its showing in inches and im sticking to plan and excsersising every day I cant do any more than im doing so im happy The excsersise lifts my mood which helps.

pinkoneblueone · 23/10/2013 21:21

1lb off this week not bad i guess

ShiftyFades · 23/10/2013 23:01

1lb is excellent, small & sustainable GrinGrinGrin
My work were very congratulatory about my half stone. My line manager says he will donate £25 to the charity of my choice when I reach my 3 st target. Although there was plenty of discussion that I shouldn't lose that much. But it's true, 3 stone puts me in the healthy / normal bracket. Scary stuff but I'm 1/6 there already GrinGrinGrin

pinkoneblueone · 24/10/2013 06:32

I keep jumping up and down I'm a stone away from target and I actually think I'm scared I getting there for some reason :( been bingeing on crap which needs to stop! So while 1 lb is good I keep jumping up and down with gains and losses :/

ShiftyFades · 24/10/2013 23:34

My colleague is the same, she's up & down half a pound a lot. She's going back to basics this week, doing a food diary and reading the book again to remind herself of what's free, the 1/3 veg etc etc.
Would that help you too?

Minimammoth · 25/10/2013 08:22

I am uppy downy too, but largely because of social event eating and going over the syn count. I need to be more disciplined, I do keep diary though. I am 4 lbs away from target. It's so frustrating.

pinkoneblueone · 26/10/2013 08:38

The reason I've been up and down on it is that I've been eating stuff I shouldn't lots of cookies etc so it's my own doing I just need to be more disciplined and get back to it properly.

HalloweenDidi · 26/10/2013 09:33

2.5 off today Grin I just need another lb to get back to where I was at the end of September.

I'm a bit uppy downy too. Mostly because I eat crap whenever I get stressed or sad Hmm I need to stop that as I've still got 2 st til I get to target.

AbbyLou · 26/10/2013 15:56

Hi all. Not been on this thread for a while but I'm still here plodding on. I have had a tough 2/3 weeks or so and have found it hard to stick to the plan but I have had a loss every time I've been so can't complain. The problem is, I know I am getting complacent so I need a kick up the bum. Please feel free to oblige.....

Fairygen · 26/10/2013 21:24

-1 lb on thurs night, so nearly cleared my 3.5 gain 3 weeks ago!!! Feeling very peed off, as I've wasted nearly a month trying to get rid of 1 week of naughtiness!

Great to hear all the losses, well done everyone x

pinkoneblueone · 28/10/2013 10:24

I know that feeling well I put on 7lb when i moved 500miles from home and it took me nearly 8 weeks to get it back off I hated that most of all!

Minimammoth · 28/10/2013 16:23

I think I might me going downy, but very slowly.

muminthecity · 28/10/2013 17:30

Hi everyone, I used to post here regularly but haven't been on for ages. I've been plodding along for the last couple of months, had a couple of small gains but got my 4.5 stone award 2 weeks ago which was great. Lost 1lb last week, hoping for a bit more this week, WI is tomorrow. Desperately want my 5 stone award before Christmas, and I'm hoping for my 6 stone award by my birthday, which is at the end of February.

Well done to all of you for your losses/for sticking to plan. Has anyone started thinking about how they will cope with Christmas? I always have loads of parties/dinners to go to, as well as the main event itself (when I usually consume my own body weight in chocolate and mince pies, not to mention all the other treats!) I am worried about how I will stick to plan, does anyone have any tips?

Minimammoth · 28/10/2013 20:03

Well done muminthecity wow! I am still on getting to losing a stone. Trying not to think about Christmas.

HalloweenDidi · 28/10/2013 21:58

Well done Mum. Grin That must feel good. How much more are you hoping to lose?

I'm aiming for my 2st by Christmas which is another 11lbs and it seems rather a lot to do in 8 weeks. I'll have 3 parties to go to but I think I'll just be flexible with my syns then cut back on the syns for the rest of the week. Christmas day shouldn't be too bad for me as it's just the 4 of us at home and I can just sw the dinner. My problem will be boxing day when we go to mils and she produces enough food to feed an army and takes offence if we don't eat it all. She always gives us a box of chocs each too. That will be difficult to resist.

I've had McDonald's for dinner Blush I'm in London for a few days with dd1 and we'd had a long day, McDonald's was right there, so that's what we had. The rest of the day had been free though so I'm not going to stress too much. We'll try to find something healthier tomorrow. I did resist buying anything in m&m world so that's a little thing to be proud of.

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/10/2013 10:20

Well I took the kids away for half term last week to Skegness and didnt deprive myself but stayed within syns. One day I had candy floss and I drunk a baileys each night.

I lost 2 lbs today. Feeling more positive now as I was very disheartened in week one (last week) with 1/2 a lb. I hope this is the start of some good weight losses. I just want to be into the next stone down for Christmas Smile

Minimammoth · 29/10/2013 10:32

WI this evening. Am at a standstill. Why do the scales always tell you you are2 lb heavier by the end of the day? Plus clothes...... = no change. Humph

trinitybleu · 29/10/2013 11:14

Beautician - candy floss isn't too awful syns wise. I think it's because it weighs nothing!

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/10/2013 14:59

Your right that's why I chose it. I wanted dinky donuts so badly but the candy floss was enough to get my sweet fix Smile

muminthecity · 29/10/2013 16:28

Thanks Mammoth and Didi - I don't actually know how much I want to lose. Definitely 7 stone as a minimum (so only just over 2 stone to go - woohoo!) but I may want to lose a bit more once I get there.
