Well done everyone who has lost. We are on a last holiday get-away in cleethorpes and I haven't been very good. I had a small doughnut on the beach as a treat which was not too bad by itself. The only place we could find to eat was a fish and chip shop. I just didn't know what to have. In the end I had sausage and chipsHmm we are in a bargain £29 premier inn so tomorrow I have breakfast to deal with first. I have decided I will have 2 poached eggs, mushrooms and maybe bacon followed by fruit salad. I don't know whether the bacon will be grilled or fried, I'll have to ask. God knows what lunch will be.......

SummerHoliDidi · 30/08/2013 21:43

trinity that's not 1st 4lbs in a week is it? That would be amazing but very unhealthy.

Well done everybody that's lost this week.

I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning and wasn't at group to wi last week so hopefully I'll have lost a decent amount. I feel like I've been really good, but I haven't really, I've just been ok. I went to my sister's on Tuesday and arrived at lunchtime to be told that we'd have to grab lunch on our way to an appt at Greggs because she had nothing in the house and Greggs was the only place on the way Hmm. So cheese pasty for lunch then :( And she did have something to cook for our dinner but it was a creamy sauce on the pasta so that was probably quite synful as well. So I've had to be good just to make up for that one day, when I didn't even want to use all those syns anyway. I've done quite a bit of exercise as well, I took dd1 and a friend kayaking on Wed, we were out on the water for 2 hours and my arms were aching by the end (and my thighs as well strangely), then I took dd2 swimming yesterday and we had a walk into town today (about 3 mile round trip).

Has anybody got any of the body magic awards? Do you know if I'm supposed to tell the consultant each week as I'm doing it or can I just go in and say "I've done a silver body magic and I want a shiny sticker for it"? I really can't believe how much excitement I get from a sticker Hmm - I'm a grown woman ffs.

SummerHoliDidi · 31/08/2013 10:24

So I only lost 1.5lbs over 2 weeks :( That's 10 weeks and I STILL haven't lost a stone. I'm at 13.5lbs. I truly believed that I would have lost about 4-5lbs this week. How annoying!

trinitybleu · 31/08/2013 12:19

Not in a week, no. Grin Since 25 July. But still, yay!! Smile

Fairygen · 31/08/2013 18:45

summer body magic isn't even mentioned in our group, ever! I'm not sure if it's just our group, but if not, I really think they should try to incorporate it into the meeting.
My weight loss has been slow, but I keep telling myself, if I hadn't been on SW I could have easily been a stone heavier than my starting weight by now.

Congrats trinity x

Minimammoth · 31/08/2013 22:36

I am fighting a losing battle with social events. Friends doing lovely home made curry including home made naan. < how can you say no> BBQ with large sherry trifle, and a Sunday lunch outing tomorrow. It will be a blooming miracle if I have any loss whatsoever on Tuesday. Am trying to be good in between.

AbbyLou · 01/09/2013 14:48

Did anyone else, when they first started, feel like they were eating too much? I am a previous ww person and it is so different I am worried I'm eating too much to lose weight. I've not been hungry at all and can't get my head around the fact that things like pasta, lean meat and potatoes are unlimited. I think I will turn into an egg soon - is it bad for you to eat too many? I have every faith in the plan because there were lots of slim people at my group but I'm struggling to get my head completely out of ww and into sw!

higgle · 01/09/2013 16:34

I find it is really kiddology AbbyLou , yes you can eat all these things, and as much as you like but you need to have 1/3 plate superfree and then if you top up again do the same. You also need to stop when you feel adequately fed ( not stuffed full). I follow SW green plan as I'm a veggie but when I do a calorie count on what I've eate it is almost always 12 -1500 calories. It works very well, but it is not magic. In the early days you will lose lots of weight ( not necessarily lots in one week but a good steady weight loss) without fine tuning. Later on you might need to look a bit more at portion size and be sure to eat loads of superfree.

Hello, can I join you please? I'm coming back to Slimming World, I've got about 2.5 stone to lose since DD (3 mo) arrived. She's EBF so I'm doing extra easy with 6 healthy extras, and have been skimming old threads for some quick meal ideas.

CoconutRing · 02/09/2013 15:32

Hello! May I join in? I have lost a stone on my own (6 or 7 to go!) and I would to like to get help with recipes, ideas and perhaps some inspiration to get to my ideal weight. Smile

AbbyLou · 02/09/2013 18:47

Hello to new people, welcome. As it is getting close to my first weigh-in (tomorrow) I am starting to feel nervous. I have mostly been really good and hope to have lost but just have this awful nagging doubt that I won't have! I don't know why because surely if I've followed it, it will have worked.
Can anyone answer a question about hot chocolate for me? I had a hot chocolate made with milk at the café in the park today as a treat. I looked in the book when I got home and it said 6.5 Syns. Is this still correct if I hadn't had any other milk today or would it be less if I used the milk in it as part of HEa?

beanandspud · 02/09/2013 21:24

I'm back! After a great start to the year the summer holiday has been a bit a a SW disaster. I seem to have got back into a pattern of snacking, eating bread and drinking far too much wine Sad. Weighed-in yesterday after three weeks away and amazingly had only put on 3lb but I feel heavier and blobbier and don't want to head into a downward (or upward?) spiral.

So, I've dug out my SW magazines and planned a week of food. Had the SW paella for dinner tonight and even DH said it was nice to be back on healthy meals again.

We are away again in 8 weeks so would love to have shifted another stone by then.

I'm going to try to go back and read through this thread - so many names that I don't recognise.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 02/09/2013 21:40

Hello beanandspud, the paella sounds interesting, is there a recipe online anywhere?

beanandspud · 02/09/2013 21:57

This is the paella recipe that I use...

Spray a big pan with fry light and gently cook a diced onion and two chopped peppers - red/green. When soft add 2tsp smoked paprika, 2 cloves of crushed garlic and a pinch of saffron.

Stir for a minute then add 1.2l veg stock and 300g roughly chopped fresh tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Add 340g paella rice, stir once and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Add 200g frozen peas and simmer for around 10-15mins until the rice is cooked and most of the liquid has evaporated.

I then add a pack of cooked mixed seafood or a packet of prawns and let them warm through.

Remove from the heat, cover with a clean teatowel for 10 mins and then sprinkle with some parsley before eating.

It's yummy - you could add chicken or different veg if you wanted.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 02/09/2013 23:00

Sounds lovely - will try it, thank you!

iklboo · 02/09/2013 23:31

I got 'Woman of The Year' tonight!!! Well....it was a field of only 3 and I had one guaranteed vote from DH but, still. I got a stertifticate n a sticker n a pen & pencil set n a SASH!!!

holidaysarenice · 03/09/2013 02:30

Well done iklboo!!!!

Pouts - I want a sash!!

AbbyLou · 03/09/2013 08:07

Wow well done iklboo, that's fantastic! It must make you feel brilliant. When I went to my first meeting last week I was looking at all the pictures they had up of some of the women had had lost loads of weight. They looked fantastic and it does help to inspire you.
I have my first weigh-in tonight and I do feel a little apprehensive, if anything because I think I have found the 'diet' too easy. I am worried I have missed something major or totally misunderstood it! I guess tonight will tell!

Fairygen · 03/09/2013 13:29

Congratulations iklboo x

Good luck, abbylou. It really is a simple plan, so much easier than anything I've tried before.

Well, I've had a hectic week so hardly had time to eat. I had a hair appointment at 9 am yesterday, and overslept, so missed breakfast. Then an appointment I thought I had today, was actually yesterday. Hot footed it home to make myself respectable. I eventually got home at 3, then realised I hadn't had lunch either! Dinner was fanta quorn and pasta.

Today, I'm getting ready to start my new job tomorrow. I feel physically sick with nerves, but have managed to force down some magic porridge.

If I have lost this week, it'll be a false reading, so will have to watch out next week!

Me23 · 03/09/2013 13:36

Hello everyone, I started the original sw thread back in jan but have fallen off the wagon think the last sw meeting I went to was back in April, however luckily I haven't piled it back on I have maintained at 10st 13.

I see bean spud has also rejoined the thread. I would live to lose another 1.5 stones. I'm now a size 14 use to be a 16-18 would love to be a 12. I am going back on the wagon now will be doing it from home as shift work makes it impossible to keep up with meetings. I'm vegetarian so only do green days. I'm aiming to lose a stone in 6-8 weeks.

Minimammoth · 03/09/2013 14:12

It's weigh in for me tonight, fingers crossed, despite my syns being off the planet this last week, I am hopeful for maybe just a little loss.
Well done iklboo.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 03/09/2013 15:31

Well done iklboo!

I went to my first group (and first weigh to get started) this morning. After discovering my BMI is 31, I'm feeling pretty resolved to see this through....

AbbyLou · 03/09/2013 16:28

Hi everyone. I have that feeling of impending doom creeping over me! I feel so worried. Any other week it's acceptable not to lose but I need to lose this week. I know my motivation will take a nose-dive if I haven't lost. Think positive - I have lost, I have lost....

Minimammoth · 03/09/2013 20:15

Am a bit disappointed. No loss, no gain.

AbbyLou · 03/09/2013 21:46

Never mind Mini, at least it was better than a gain? Do you know where you went wrong or was it just one of 'those weeks'?
I am pleased to report that I lost 4 pounds in my first week! I am over the moon and now feel happy that I did do it right, I just need to get my head round it and feel confident in it.
