Hello everyone,

Have lost 7lbs so far, still a couple of million to go ....

Made a lovely chicken and pepperoni bake yesterday - was syn free apart from the pepperoni, which I can't find in my book ... it just has pepperami, which isn't the same, is it? Does anyone know what it would be?

And thought I was doing well today as I looked up some Sainsburys biscuits online on myfitnespal and they seemed to be 100 calories per biscuit, but when someone else scanned the bag on the same app, it came up as 300+! Eh??

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 19/08/2013 13:23

Hmmm - I have already had all my HEX and 9 of my Syns, and it is only lunchtime.

Need to do better this afternoon!

Fairygen · 19/08/2013 18:04

100g of sliced pepperoni is 13.5 syns on ee and red, 20 syns on green.

trinitybleu · 19/08/2013 18:11

Thanks Fairy! Was 4 slices so will go and weigh that out when I get home.

muminthecity · 19/08/2013 21:27

Another good day today, though I'm feeling peckish at the moment; don't fancy fruit but don't want to have any more syns before WI tomorrrow Confused.

B - Pineapple
L - Homemade chicken soup with bread (HEB) and spread (1)
D - Chicken, butternut squash and goat's cheese tart with new potatoes and salad (6 syns for the filo pastry, HEA for the cheese.)

That's about it for today, haven't had any snacks which is very unusual for me! Looking at that list though, I don't think I've had enough superfree foods either.

SummerHoliDidi · 19/08/2013 21:36

I've had a really good day today to make up for yesterday when I ate tons of chocolate. Dd2 and I went to Newcastle on the train with some friends, and took our lunch with us. Incredibly I managed to only eat MY lunch and didn't share any of the chocolate biscuits and sweets that we had for the children Shock.
B - toast (HEB) and mashed banana
L - rice salad made with loads of veg and tuna
D - vegetable lasagne (HEA for the cheese)

Minimammoth · 20/08/2013 09:12

It's my first weigh in tonight. Bit nervous. Think I have lost 3 lbs ish. My scales are quite good but I weigh without clothes so have to adjust.
Got family arriving to stay so not sure how I will juggle that one.

Fairygen · 20/08/2013 10:47

Good luck mini, you'll be fine.

My strawberry jelly taster trial worked out lovely. Loads for a syn and a half. Only problem is how to make it for the taster evening, it's very messy to cut. I made it in a loaf tin. I was thinking about making it a bit firmer. Then using a round ice cube tray, put half a strawberry in the bottom and try to do two toned jelly ( half with yogurt). I might put them in bun cases to make it a bit easier.

Trying the curry loaf, as cupcakes, today. If it works,I'll take that instead as it's less faffing about

SummerHoliDidi · 20/08/2013 12:51

Good luck mini. I'm sure you'll have done great!

Fairy that jelly sounds lovely, people will definitely enjoy tasting that, I would anyway.

Fairygen · 20/08/2013 13:41

On my god, the curry loaf cupcakes are to die for!!!!

ShiftyFades · 20/08/2013 19:58

Hello, can I join you? I started SW last week and have had some dreadful moments this week (3 course meal with wine, pizza, chips and a BK) but by eating sensibly the rest of the time I was shocked to see I weighed in at 3lb less this week GrinGrinGrin
Wow!!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 20/08/2013 21:28

Bloody DH brought wine, chocolate and trifle home tonight. Our anniversary tomorrow, but also weigh in and I've been nominated for the bloody woman of the year so don't want to gain....

We have drunk the wine. Choc and trifle must wait til after 9pm tomorrow.

Going to do jelly sweets for taster night, and tuna flan (tuna, natural yoghurt, eggs and a bit of Parmesan on top.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 20/08/2013 21:28

Welcome Shifty!

SummerHoliDidi · 20/08/2013 21:45

So how do you do the curry loaf cupcakes then Fairy? I can't seem to find the recipe anywhere online.

Welcome Shifty well done for those first 3lbs.

Minimammoth · 20/08/2013 21:47

I love the sound of your tuna flan Yourall, have you got a recipe?
Just back from group, lost 4 lbs. am dead chuffed.

muminthecity · 20/08/2013 23:15

Well done Shifty and Mini.

I had my weigh in tonight and I lost 7.5lbs! In a week! I am so happy, I got my 4 stone award as well. My face has looked like this > Grin all evening!

Minimammoth · 21/08/2013 06:31

Awesome, muminthecity.

ShiftyFades · 21/08/2013 08:32

Wow, that's brilliant!!! 7.5lbs!!!

Any tips?!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Fairygen · 21/08/2013 08:46

Well done shifty and mini, mum that's amazing, please share your secret! It's great to hear that it's possible to get big losses after losing so much weight.

summer, it's called curry loaf. I've just put it in cupcakes for the taster evening.

1 packet of bachelors mild curry savoury rice (free)
1 tin of chickpea Dahl ( I used the mazadar brand in Morrisons, it's free)
3 eggs beaten

Mix together pour into lined loaf tin, cook on 180 for 30-40 mins.

I cooked my cupcakes for about 15 mins. They don't rise so they need to be filled pretty full. When they're cooking they look quite wet but they're ok.

I found the chickpea Dahl in the world food section, with the popadoms etc, not with the tinned chilli, curry etc where I spent ages looking, panicking because I couldn't find it!!

Fairygen · 21/08/2013 08:48

It made about 12 cupcakes, free on EE and green, about 2 syns each on red. The whole lot is 36 syns on red!!!

Fairygen · 21/08/2013 09:45

Sorry my brain isn't functioning this morning!! Right, the whole thing is about 33 syns on red, I've counted it at 2.5 syns each. Better to be over than under!!

muminthecity · 21/08/2013 11:48

Thanks Mini, Shifty and Fairy. My only secret is exercise! I've been in the gym for about 1.5 hours every day this week, as well as doing lots of walking. Have also stuck to 10 syns or less each day, drank a minimum of 2l of water each day and eaten about 7-8 different superfree foods per day. I have been really good and stuck to the plan as I was desperate for a big loss this week because I'm off on holiday on Monday and I know I will struggle while I'm away!

SummerHoliDidi · 21/08/2013 20:39

Thanks Fairy I might have a go at that one day next week.

Now You're, how am I supposed to make jelly sweets? I tried it today with 1 sachet of sf jelly, 1 sachet of gelatine and 1 pt water. I ended up with cubes of jelly, nothing like haribo :( What have I done wrong?

ShiftyFades · 21/08/2013 21:33

Wow mumin, you've certainly earned that weight loss!
I am not very active, I really must change that about myself.
I might go for a walk tomorrow lunch time.

I made SW Vegetable Singapore noodles this evening. I got the recipe from a friend's book.
They were very nice and a meat eater can add a few strips of chicken / beef.
Syn free Grin

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 21/08/2013 22:00

I realised I have been making the jelly sweets with less than a pint of water which makes them firmer. If you like a stronger flavour, then add an extra sachet of jelly. For even firmer sweeties, extra gelatine.

Must work, because I lost 4lbs this week...
