Thanks very much fairygen, that's good news! I've just used it on a pasta salad concoction. It was yummy!

Minimammoth · 14/08/2013 20:21

I only joined last night and am already in trouble. I mostly cook homemade food. So can anyone tell me if gram flour has a value or which group it would belong to, I use it as a thickener for gravy casseroles etc.

iklboo · 14/08/2013 20:31

A tablespoon of gram flour is 3.5 - 4 syns. It doesn't belong to any 'group' I'm afraid.

Minimammoth · 14/08/2013 20:37

Thank you ikiboo. I'll just log it in syncs then. I only used Desert spoon for the whole dish. I will make a note.

holidaysarenice · 15/08/2013 02:33

Bollocks plus 2 today!!

Does the fact I had jeans not leggings on count?

Huffpot · 15/08/2013 09:03

Well done mum and littlemouse

I didn't get to WI last night. Was my little boys 3rd birthday and he also came down with chickenpox. He had a little party with his friends who have already had it (and gave it to him) but by the time I had him and his brother settled into bed it was too late for me to get to group

DP is working from home today (carpenter) so going to see if I can pop out to get some shopping and leave Mr Spotty but don't like my chances so may have to do an online shop for tomorrow and make do with what I have in today

Oh the joys of motherhood sigh

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/08/2013 15:27

holidays the jeans definately did it. When i used to go to class the leader said jeans can add 3 pounds. Fact. Yay! That means you lost a pound really!!

I put a pound on. Thought i would, but still a bit disheartened. And i had my 'thursday bra and pants' on specially. And a really light summer dress. So i can't blame my clothes!

Minimammoth · 15/08/2013 17:18

It's my first couple of days, so it's taking me ages to find the syn values and stuff, and I so wanted chocolate today. But I have resisted. Thanks for the jeans tip.

SummerHoliDidi · 15/08/2013 17:33

Holidays I agree that the jeans did it, or maybe the coffee shops with your mum. More likely it's the jeans though.

I really hope I lose s lot this week after sts last week. I have really stuck to it this week cos the kids were away, and I've done more exercise too, I swam half a mile yesterday! But af is now 2 days late and I'm feeling rather bloated atm, so I'm not feeling too hopeful Sad

Loolah · 15/08/2013 19:15

I got all emotional at my weigh in last night, we have been nominating for woman of the year and one of the 3 nominations was ME Grin I was so overwhelmed. I have now lost 4 st 2.5lb in 7 months. Although I do need to lose at least another 3st. I now feel my target is within reach Smile

Fairygen · 16/08/2013 07:30

As expected, I put on, but, only 1/2 lb!! So angry with myself. This is my 8th week and still 2.5lbs off a stone!!!! I'm lucky, this is the first week I've put on, but I've cheated every week and am always playing catch up.

I really want to be slimmer so NO MORE MESSING AROUND!!!!

For the first time, I actually synned what I ate last night and omg!!! I had a Tesco light meal 13.5 syns ( I normally have pizza!!)

Going to do a red week to kick start everything.

loolah, what a great way to celebrate your massive achievement!! You must feel so proud x

holidays, it must have been the jeans! I wear exactly the same every week to weigh, even down to the same underwear!!!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 16/08/2013 08:13

Grrr. Lost a pound of the two I put on on holiday.

I really want a bigger loss this week - I have been piddling about too much. Got a family meal in a fortnight and I was hoping I'd be 12st by then - still got 8lbs to go, so it won't be happening.

The change in mindset is hard - today I am working at home on a deadline, and would normally treat myself to a croissant or something after dropping DS at nursery. I know I won't, but it is hard to get food as treats out of your head.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2013 12:30

gained 2 lbs :(

knew it was tgtbt to have sts all these weeks and been a bad blonde

OP posts:
SummerHoliDidi · 16/08/2013 13:25

Oh dear blondes. Just draw a line under it and start again. If you go back to basics and write it all down, look up all syns etc then you can lose those 2lbs and more. That's if you have the motivation to get stuck back in, if not then there really isn't much harm in leaving it a few weeks til your head's in a better place for getting serious about it.

iklboo · 16/08/2013 14:01

Bank Holidays are planned naughty days for us cos we weigh in at 10am. We have SO much naughty planned. Food, I mean.

We're off on a cruise in 10 weeks. There will be NO sticking to the diet then, I can assure you. We've seen some of the menus. Smile

Fairygen · 17/08/2013 09:00

I hate the weekends!!!!! Off to the parents so no doubt loads of lovely foreign biscuits from lidl. My mum does try, she buys me WW cakes. But they're quite high in syns.i have tried to tell her that the number on the packet is WW points, not SW syns, but she doesn't listen!!!! She used to do SW too. Aaarrgghhh.

Anyway...have a good weekend.

SummerHoliDidi · 17/08/2013 09:44

I lost 1.5lbs this week. I wasn't really feeling very hopeful, especially after my bathroom scales said I hadn't lost anything since last week, and af arrived yesterday (only 4 days late then Hmm). So 1.5lbs is fine, I'd wanted more but I'll take 1.5.

Fairy I know what you mean about visiting parents. We're off to mil's today and I just know that absolutely nothing she ever cooks is even vaguely sw friendly, there's always a very nice dessert, and she serves huge portions (I ask for a little bit and get a HUGE plateful, but not quite as big as dp's). I'm just hoping that I can undo the damage the rest of the week seeing as I wi on a Saturday morning.

Huffpot · 17/08/2013 12:25

Well done all the losers and Sad to blonde

Both my boys have the dreaded pox now so have finally gotten to Asda today to get some food
Off to an Ann Summers party tonight for a friend so need to try and fill up before I go to avoid all the wine and nibbles I'm sure will be in

I'm missing all the walking I normally do as well sigh

PrincessScrumpy · 17/08/2013 18:44

Really struggling today - treated dd1 to a slice of carrot cake and chocolate milkshake. I was being good and just had a coffee with milk that I calculated into syns so all was well until dd (5) found she was full. It was very rich and so yummy I couldn't waste it. Probably 20 syns in one go. Tomorrow is family meal for special occasion - all you can eat Indian buffet. I'm screwed :( wi is Tuesday and I have a chest infection so can even go for a run!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 17/08/2013 21:41

Just made up a sugar free jelly sachet and added pomegranate, raspberries and strawberries. Blimey, it was nice.

Huffpot · 18/08/2013 08:55

I can't waste food either princess so I understabd your pain!

you're did you mix the fruit in while it was setting? I must try that

I went out last night to a friends birthday Ann Summers party. I had some wine (only about half if that of the massive glass I was poured) and some unknown cocktail containing rum which was lovely and and I did....plus one shot after
And a penis cake but avoided everything else!

Just making a big breakfast now and then will do some cleaning to try and burn it off a bit seeing as I am stuck inside with my pox ridden toddlers!

muminthecity · 18/08/2013 18:28

I've been good so far this week, seem to have finally managed to get into some good eating habits for the holidays! Also spent 1.5 hours in the gym yesterday and today, and planning to do the same tomorrow and Tuesday while DD is out with friends. Really hoping for a big loss this week as I'm away on holiday next week so I know I'm going to struggle!

Today:

B - Banana
L - BLT sandwich - bread = HEB, bacon had no fat on it, extra light mayo = 1 syn
D - Chicken, bacon, mushroom, onion and potato frittata/quiche type thing topped with goat's cheese (HEA)
S - Satsuma, pineapple, Muller Light and I have a little milkybar in the fridge that I'm saving for later (3.5 syns)

Fairygen · 18/08/2013 18:48

What an unusual feeling.... I haven't gone over my syns for the first weekend ever.

I decided to nip the food issue (at my parents) in the bud by taking ingredients to make lunch for us all. Lazy eggs, they were delicious! Just lined a muffin tin with ham, put a bit of chopped fresh tomato in the bottom, crack an egg on top and cooked in oven til egg cooked. They were really filling. The second batch we added some chilli to give them a bit of a kick.

We have woman of the year and taster evening this week at group, so will be experimenting with different things to take. Next I'm trying curry loaf made with chick pea Dahl, curry savoury rice and eggs. Also something similar to you're jelly, but mixing a muller light in too.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 18/08/2013 19:05

I chucked all the fruit in and then poured the jelly over. It was ace.

I've been making sweeties, too - 1x sugar free jelly and an extra sachet of gelatine mixed in, and set in little moulds. Like Haribo - my consultant reckons 1.5 Syns for the lot, and I got about 30 sweets.
