2lb off tonight.

I have a small announcement!

It turns out, I am slightly stupid! The weight I was before and after I had my baby was in kg. When I was weighed when he was 15 weeks, and I'd put 10kg on in 9 weeks, I worked out the weights in stone. Except the online converter was wrong!

I thought I had 1st 10 to lose, and wanted to do it in 9 weeks or less. Well, today is week 9, and I was feeling despondent. Til I double checked the weights. It was 1st 5.5 I had to lose! And I've done it, spot on! I'm back to my 'regular' weight!!! And what I gained in 9 weeks, I've lost in 9 weeks! It can be done!

Awesome! The real weight loss (for me!) starts here! I'm in my regular clothes, so it's time to get back in to my 14's with my next challenge!

Currently 16's, some 18's. I have a wardrobe of half this size, and half 14's. I want to get back in to them comfortably!

Bring it on!

higgle · 28/06/2013 10:47

I didn't weigh in this week as I took a week's holiday due to lots of stuff going on at work with evening meetings etc. According to my scales I've lost a lb this week, which is fine by me as I'm now bang on target to lose another 2 stone before I go on holiday on 23 November. 2 stone down, 2 to go. Actually I might review the target weight as I approach it as I just want to be a proper size 10, comfortably fitting.

Today - mini shredded wheat with soy milk, strawberries and blueberries

  • lunch - 4 x Ryvita, box of salad and an apple
  • dinner - Quorn chilli with rice and salad, strawberries mango and natural yoghurt.
captainBeaky · 28/06/2013 11:41

Hello, I started 4 weeks ago. Was initially 11st 10. My weight has been going steadily down and on Sun I was 11st 2, which I was really pleased with. It has now crept back to 11st4!! I know I shouldn't weigh every day, but at the beginning it was spurring me on! I am still drinking a bottle of wine a night, which I know can't be helping, but other than that nothing unhealthy has passed my lips. My 30 day shred dvd arrived today. Anyone tried it?
I will keep going with SW as my best friend has lost 2 and 1/2 stone in 18 months. I guess I'm inpatient and want quick results!
Well done to all you losers!

BethAndHerBrood · 28/06/2013 12:45

I had wi yesterday. I lost 1.5lb, taking my loss to 1 stone.5lb. And it took me into the next stone down, which is very pleasing.

Well done to all losers Smile

melliebobs · 28/06/2013 15:03

Today I had white toast and jam for the first time in 3 weeks. It was HEAVEN Smile

HolidayArmadillo · 28/06/2013 16:23

A bottle of wine a night! You could have lost double without that, it's just all sugar!

Last night I really could have been forgiven for asking DH to go to McDonald's on his way home from work but I instead made a stir fry. Free and full of super free stuff. And I've had the leftovers for lunch too. Feeling very virtuous.

Tomorrow I do a skydive. Today I am under the weight limit. This makes me very happy.

minibmw2010 · 28/06/2013 17:51

CaptainBeaky, a bottle a night is about 18 syns? If so you're over your syn quantity every day.
Been good all day, just had a bagel though (so 6 syns) while DS had his dinner. Have made a blondes quiche to have while DH has his pizza (I wonder if I can sneak one slice) Smile

minibmw2010 · 28/06/2013 18:00

In fact I just looked it up. A bottle of sweet is 36 points, a bottle of dry is 24 and medium is 27! That'll be it then ...

MrsHelsBels74 · 28/06/2013 19:10

Do you drink a bottle on your own or share it? One big glass is about 9 syns.

captainBeaky · 28/06/2013 19:37

Thank you all for looking it up. I am determined to have a week off next week and do my new dvd exercises. Will be interesting to see the difference! And, yes I do have a bottle, I'm working on that as well as I know it is ridiculous. It is just a bad habit I have got into which I am determined to get out of. 11.4 today. Will weigh in next week after much needed abstinence!

Fairygen · 29/06/2013 07:18

Hi all,
I was following the plan online, but really struggled on my own and eventually gave up. Decided to take the bull by the horns and go to group on Thurs.

Ihadn't realised how much I needed the support/ advice of other members. A fair few of the group are at their goal weight and some have lost more than I want to so that's great for my motivation!

I'm giving extra easy a go. I normally stick to red plan, but get bored easily. Just can't believe how much I can eat. Cooked Spanish chicken from the Hairy Dieters last night and it was lush ( 6.5 syns and included LOADS of chorizo) I'm hoping I'll find it easier this time as I've totally given up wine. It's been 10 weeks tomorrow, apart from one night which was a celebration. It's amazing how quickly you 'go off' it. I didn't even drink on my birthday!

I was hoping for some advice on my hexa. I drink quite a bit of coffee so that uses up my hexa, are there any low syn/ free alternatives to milk? I was thinking about syning my milk which will leave me with my a.

Anyone needing motivation......
I know someone ( at a different group) who has been doing extra easy for 24 weeks, has only put on one week, and has nearly lost 5 stone!!!!

schooldidi · 29/06/2013 07:42

I'm about to go and weigh in after my first week. Wish me luck. Smile My scales say I've lost about 4 lbs, so let's hope the Sw scales say the same.

My motivation is that my mum has now lost over 2 st on SW, so now she's the same dress size as meShock I can't have that so I now need to lose quicker than her so I stay slightly slimmer.

TheYoniExpress · 29/06/2013 08:23

Hi fairy. I am also doing EE online - I find this thread and FB pages (look up slimming world meal ideas etc and have a look) inspirational.

Sometimes I have milk as HE, sometimes I syn it ... To be honest depending on the syn value of the alternative so that I use least syns overall Smile

Well done to all losers - I am hoping to have moved on Tuesday WI fingers crossed

schooldidi · 29/06/2013 08:29

3.5 off. I was hoping for a bit more for my first week, but I also know that I have gone over my syns a few days.

melliebobs · 29/06/2013 10:04

3.5 is fantastic for any week! Well done Smile

Mintyy · 29/06/2013 11:43

I'm going to join youze lot if that's ok.

Dh and I have been doing the 5:2 fast thing for 9 months. He has lost 35lb, I have lost ... (drumroll) ... zero lb. Or, to be fair, I lost 5lb and gradually regained it all, despite faithfully sticking to two fasts per week.

Lets just say my thyroid is under investigation!!

Anyway, I am desperate to lose some weight. Even if I can never get down to a size 12 (I am 5'2", so that is not an ambitious aim) then I sure as hell can't put up with being a size 16 any longer. I am extremely depressed by it, to the point where I don't go out some days.

So I have decided to go hardcore and try SW. Went to my first meeting last week. Have stuck to it faithfully so far. Just weighed 35g of muesli for my breakfast and actually LAUGHED at how small the amount was. Bumped it up to 50g and will count that in my syns.

I am very curious to see how I do after a week.

onceipopicantstop · 29/06/2013 13:30

Hi all I'm back from my hols. Have been catching up on the thread - there have been some great losses this week.

I failed completely to stick to my plan of being sensible this week! An hour after arriving I was eating a Magnum!! And then decided to forget about sw and just enjoy the holiday. Haven't weighed myself since getting home. WI is on Thursday so I'm back on plan and hoping to have undone some of the damage by Thursday! Smile

minibmw2010 · 29/06/2013 13:58

A bit if a disastrous 24 hours. DS (2) is sick with tonsillitis so my plans to be good last night went our the window with a pizza and glass of wine. Lunch today was a Blondes Quiche with oven chips and a whispa. After being so good all week .. Sigh ...

TheDetective · 29/06/2013 14:02

Hello Mintyy! I saw your other thread. :)

Regarding milk, the lowest syn I found was Alpro almond milk. Think you can have 950ml of it for HEA. 1/2 a syn for 100ml.

Can't say I've tasted it. I've tried hazelnut milk though which was palatable.

I'm another one with a DP who has lost loads. The bastard!

I was a bit bad last night. It isn't like me. I only had 5.5 syns on thursday. But I was really hungry yesterday. I ended up eating a small mountains worth of chicken. And had 22.5 syns Blush. But I haven't gone over as my week starts again on a thursday for me.

I had gravy, marge in carrot and turnip, as well as a kit kat and a 46g mint aero. Blush

Fairygen · 29/06/2013 20:02

Thanks for all the milk advice.
I think I'm doing ok so far, although it is only day 2!! Not feeling at all hungry, even though I'm watching my portion sizes. The feeling in group was that if you're doing red you can eat as much as you physically can, but with EE you need to keep an eye on portion sizes. This is a totally new concept for me, as I'm a natural pig!

Cooked baked cannelloni from the website for dinner (1 syn). It was pretty tasteless and not really worth the hassle. I think next time I'll swap the spinach and cottage cheese filling for a bolagnese one. Or even just make sw lasagne, rather than stuffing those fiddly tubes!

schooldidi · 29/06/2013 20:34

Fairy nobody at my group seems to think they should be watching portion sizes on EE. I never did when I lost 3 stone 4 years ago on EE. I ate HUGE portions of free foods and lost weight every week. I think if it's free it's free and you don't need to measure or limit yourself at all. I'd definitely go with a lasagne rather than cannelloni, I couldn't be doing with those fiddly tubes.

Does anybody use a pedometer to see how many steps you do in a day? If so, how do you a) stop it from falling off your waistband and b) make sure it counts every step (I walked about a mile and a half today and mine counted 200 steps, that is NOT right)?

Fairygen · 29/06/2013 21:00

That's what I thought, school! They were talking about pasta, and saying that some people struggle to lose weight if they eat a lot of it, even though it's free, so to watch portion control on it and free carbs.Doesn't really affect me too much anyway, I don't eat piles of it. Might have to check next week at group.

I had a pedometer and it drove me nuts, with the same problems! When I go out for a walk I check my route on google maps, put pins down and it gives the distance. I did buy a really cheap one for a few pounds at Argos, so maybe that's why it was rubbish!
