Badroly - really feel for you, I lost my dad 7 years ago and my mum 4 years ago and it really does get easier with every year - it took me about three years each time to really feel like I was through the worst but definitely good to concentrate on the funny stuff, me and my sister often laugh about my mum's funny quirks. I find the run up to the anniversary worse than the actual day so hopefully you will feel better soon.

Huffpot · 30/04/2013 15:48

Welcome to all the new faces.

Hooray for the losses

Anniversaries of death must be very hard to deal with

FourLittleDudes · 30/04/2013 17:42

Syns - second bowl of cereal (don't know how many syns) muller light 0.5, Coffee Mate 2 syns,

Cooking dinner at the moment, which will be the same as last night, finishing the left overs, steak, slimming world chips and salad.

I don't know why I am so hungry.

iklboo · 30/04/2013 18:24

If you're missing chocolate the caramel & chocolate hi-fi bars are nice. You can have 2 as your healthy b choice so I have one after lunch and one after tea (or they're only 3 syns each if you wanted one as a treat).

Mikado biscuits are 0.5 syns each. A couple of those with a cuppa are nice too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2013 18:49

Welcome to all the new faces Smile

Well done all who have lost Grin

Today I did something I have never, ever done, and I am really proud of myself. Co-worker left today, and there was a gathering.....lots of cake, biscuits and bad stuff. I could've quite easily eaten several brownies or Krispy Kreme donuts, but I didn't! I thought of my lovely dress, and all the lbs I've lost. So the big saddo that I am, I ate my strawberries instead Grin I've finally changed my mindset on food, and that is a big thing for me.

Another good thing to happen today, is I became an auntie. My db and his gf, had a beautiful baby girl this afternoon, and she is gorgeous! Got to wait until the weekend for a cuddle as they live by the coast Smile but it's all good in 3girls camp!

Curlywurlysareyum · 30/04/2013 21:21

Lost 1lb tonight - that's 1 stone 1.5 lbs since joining sw 9 weeks ago. So pleased. Have 2 stone off now since summer. Starting to really notice it - lots of people keep asking me and its motivating me to lose more. I'm still a size 16 and would be happy with one more stone to get to 11 and a half stone. I hope I can do it by July for holiday.

3girls - I too have had a few challenges like that and for the first time in my life I refused cake. I felt so proud afterwards. I love keeping my syns to have at night and refuse to waste them on cake that half the time isn't even nice anyway!!

Asumpta - on ee you are suppose to eat one third super free at every meal. I joined 9 weeks ago and only gained once (at Easter) I have cereal most mornings at 8, then fruit about 10. I know this isn't strictly right but it hasn't done me any harm. Maybe when I'm down a bit I will be stricter with things like that. Low fat super noodles are free so I try to eat them with a small side salad. Or i have tuna, pasta and veg for lunch. I think the key to sw is that u eat so much less processed food, jars of sauces etc (i make my own for the first time ever!!) and that the amount of rubbish is cut down - before I started I ate far too many snacks where as now I'm much fuller and eat only one or two treats per day and stay within the 15 syns. I also try to eat loads of super free at dinner time to fill up. Hope this is of some help.

Fourlittledudes - the first two weeks my digestion system was mad!!! I think it's all the extra fibre I ate!!! But it settled down after that.

onceipopicantstop · 30/04/2013 21:30

Weight day for me tomorrow so wish me luck!! Have had a good first week, and haven't felt hungry so have had very few syns, so hoping for a good result!
Resisted an ice cream with ds and dh today and chose a mini milk instead. Only 1.5 syns and was enough that I didn't feel deprived. Might have to get a box for the home freezer!

FourLittleDudes · 01/05/2013 09:28

I was crap last night and rammed two tablespoons of Ben and Jerrys down my neck from the children's pudding Blush plus a huge bowl of fruit and fibre!

Daisybell1 · 01/05/2013 10:13

Mini Milks are only 1.5 each? wow!

And I would have eaten 2 table spoons of fruit and fibre and a huge bowl of Ben and Jerrys so I think you're doing pretty well!

I'm doing ok, but tried to sabotage my efforts last night with a glass of red followed by 5 chocs last night. Why oh why do I do it???

NanaNina · 01/05/2013 12:16

Lost 1lb 4oz in 10 days.........how pathetic is that.

BadRoly · 01/05/2013 13:31

6lb off! Total weight loss 2stone 1/2lb.

Part of the huge loss today is that I weighed last Monday evening and I definitely weigh heavier in the evening. But I'm still very very chuffed!

B-apple,banana,grapes,natural yogurt
S-2 black coffee
D-tuna, boiled egg, cherry toms, cucumber, lettuce, salad dressing (1/2 syn), water, toffee Mullerlight
S- CELEBRATORY CREME EGG Grin 9.5 syns?
T- don't know yet but something very low syns with pork loins, rice and veg. Possibly cooked in apple juice with apples.
S- 2 baby bel (heA) and cereal bar - Alpen/SpecialK/HiFi (heB)

I might be a little bit happy Grin

onceipopicantstop · 01/05/2013 13:42

Well I weighed in this morning (at home) and....11lbs off! ShockHmm

I lost a stone earlier this year doing 5:2 and then regained 11lbs through binging Blush so am now back down to original weight. Which is great but am a little dubious!! I had been eating loads of sweetscarbs so maybe is fluid shifting or something. And have been very stressed for the past week and not eating as much as usual so may all have contributed.

Might reweigh tomorrow just to check...

Re minimilks - this is what my book says but is a couple of years old so someone with a more recent version might want to check?

muminthecity · 01/05/2013 13:52

Afternoon all. Onceipop - 11lbs is amazing, well done!

I had my weigh in last night and lost 3lbs. That's 12lbs in 2 weeks all together. I'm hoping for at least 2 this week so I can get to my first stone. Not sure how likely that is though, I was very naughty last night (had crisps and chocolate buttons Blush) and will be out Friday night so will probably have more syns than usual.

onceipopicantstop · 01/05/2013 14:07

Thanks muminthecity! You must have lost 9lbs in the first week so maybe this isn't a mistake for me...!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2013 15:35

Well done all the losers :)

And yah for becoming an aunty 3 :)

Evening!

Made blondes quiche again today with onion and chives cottage cheese - worked out at no syns as that cottage cheese in the light choices range is free! The pineapple one is 1.5 so may do a ham one with that. Also got the sweet chilli one which is also free, so will be eating these all weekend! With a big plate of salad it is all free!! Planning on making some apple coleslaw from the latest magazine tomorrow - will report back on that.

Can definitely confirm from SW website that mini milks all varieties are indeed 1.5 syns. Can see me stocking up on them! Better than a Magnum mini at 9 syns!

Curlywurlysareyum · 01/05/2013 20:21

NanaNina - that's a loss - do that every week and it won't be long coming off.

Curlywurlysareyum · 01/05/2013 20:22

Some huge losses - muminthecity - it took me weeks to lose that. I'm joining the tortoise club!

Daisybell1 · 01/05/2013 20:53

Oh god, I have 3 weeks until a beach holiday...

I ordered 30 day shred this morning. Does this smack of desperation?

onceipopicantstop · 01/05/2013 20:58

Hi couple of queries!
Anyone know if Onken fat free yogurt is syn-free?

Also could I have the recipe (or the link) to the blondes quiche that is often mentioned?!

Thanks!

FourLittleDudes · 01/05/2013 21:07

I've been quite good today,

B - mixed fruit thing from Tesco. Grape and Kiwi, I managed to get some of it before ds3 noticed it and 'shared'
L - chicken tikka with Salad and Mint Sauce - was filling and gorgeous, made a marinade from fat free natural yoghurt and tandoori powder and left the chicken over night then griddled it on skewers, made the mint dip from more yoghurt and mint sauce. It was lovely.
D - chicken curry made from the left over chicken, and rice.

Snacks - 2 plums. Need to eat some more fruit to up my super free and other than a couple of cups of tea I haven't managed to have my healthy extras today either.

Syns - a few liquorice comforts, a bite of cake, dash of olive oil to cook off the onion etc in the curry.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 01/05/2013 21:08

fourlittle the olive oil can be your 'b' option Smile

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 01/05/2013 21:11

Onceipop the natural is free the flavoured range from 5 to 8 syns each Smile

Huffpot · 01/05/2013 22:09

Well done to the losers! Amazing losses Grin

WI tonight and 1lb off so 10.5lbs in 4 weeks. I wanted more to get down to the next stone but not bad considering I normally gain when I have my period!
Next week - next stone
