  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

my dh gets jeans from this website sometimes and has always been pleased with them...little slow posting sometimes though

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 20:23

I'm on a roll!

MegBusset · 24/09/2007 20:33

I have been wearing the same two pairs of Topshop jeans since forever (give or take being pregnant, where I wore two pairs of, er, Topshop maternity jeans).

I feel a bit shopping in there now as I'm twice the age of their target market, need to grow up and find somewhere else to shop, but have never found better-fitting jeans! My trouble is that I am petite-but-curvy, so jeans are either too long, too tight on the bum or too baggy round the waist.

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 20:37

just for you meggy

ImBarryScott · 24/09/2007 20:41

you lot and yer swanky jeans!
even if I had the cash (which I definitely don't), I am also saddled with thunder thighs and an arse the size of a small country, so 7s skinnys would look hilarious on me.

Wow I am loving this website... I can't believe there is chat about what to wear!

If you're looking at the likes of Topshop and Warehouse for jeans then Oasis are pretty competitive...

Although I don't know you Tam I feel compelled to throw a spanner in the works and say I actually like the second pair... only marginally though. The first pair are very diesel-ish - which is a good thing in my mind.

gingerninja · 24/09/2007 21:01

tibsy, many happy returns to you and your DP. hope you had a good day. how fantastic for your through the night. What oh what did you do? Please tell me!!

Baz, well done for the self settling. She's done really well getting there so quickly. You must feel great. i also think i've missed the window of opportunity. If i'd had the guts i should have done it months ago so I feel resigned to working with it.

EP sorry your DS is poorly. Poor love. It feels like one thing after another doesn't it?

skirmish. Good nights are few and far between on this thread unfortunately. I'm a long timer here so remember you're not alone when it all feels like too much.

Ooh Tam, what a fantastic bit of gossip. faces all around then.

Meg, for your nights and yes, any new stage of development sends us very wonky.

i have a pair of skinny jeans that I poor myself into occasionally. they look dreadful but i, just for once, wanted to be part of current fashion. Perhaps I should have waited for a more flattering fashion. Jeans are one of those things that once you've found a good pair, you live in. However, you spend most of your life in pursuit of that perfect pair.

Hope you have some good nights ladies

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 21:32

hi ginger and mamma T.

off to bed ds stirring but just wanted to say hi.
instead of buying any (nice)new boots for daywear or new jeans to feel young i've just ordered theseoh how times have changed!

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 21:37

ps mammaT glad you found us!
we usually talk about sleep but sometimes we like to throw caution to the wind and talk about non sleep related issues.....not very often mind

night all

MammaT · 24/09/2007 21:42

Tam - very practical! Being stylish is over-rated anyway .

Night!

skirmish · 25/09/2007 07:50

morning all...

tibs, hope you had a good birthday yest Keep your eyes peeled for 7 jeans in tkmaxx - i got a pair earlier this year for £24 (not that fond of them, they stretch even more than topshop jeans, but very confortable!) edd is 21/11 so back pain would probably be there anyway!

ginger - it all felt like too much yest! I am determined to stick to it, and not give in, as i have only 8 weeks left for ds to 'learn' how to sleep again. Then i'll have the newborn to contend with!

Good night here. No afternoon nap, so to bed at 6.30, straight asleep (lovely ), bizarrely woke at 1am, though dh dealt with it (very odd and out of the blue - he must be picking up on my 'do something, he's your child too' vibes! ) I do recall saying something like 'you just have to lie him back down everytime he sits up' dh - 'but he's wide awake!' me - 'he'll soon wear himself out'...and tottered back to bed!!!

Up at 5.40am, but just chatting, so left him til 6, gave him a bottle in cot, and then left him...next thing it was 7.15am! So nice!

MegBusset · 25/09/2007 08:24

Hiya all

Terrible night here. Had about two hours' sleep and feel awful. Just don't know what to do any more

Refused breakfast this morning too... so I have a baby who won't sleep or eat...

Please cheer me up this morning, ladies, with your tales of good sleeping!

ImBarryScott · 25/09/2007 08:36

Morning all,

Meg - sounds horrid. You must be knackered. D'ya think it's teeth maybe, or a bug, if DS's appetite is affected? hope your DH is able to pitch in today and help so you get a rest.

skirmish - glad you had a good night, and that your DH is getting some practice in for when the new baby arrives!

No problems here.

In fact, I think it might be time for us to move on. It's been brilliant chatting with you all, but you don't want a smug old witch with a sleeping baby hanging around when you've had no sleep. As long as I can come back during the inevitable teething/milestones/sickness/funny mood spells, that it!

Thank you all so much for supporting me when I've been climbing the walls with tiredness and frustration. You are all far more patient and dedicated than me, and you know that your gorgeous bubs will always thank you for that .

So I guess I'll catch up with you all when DD's cutting some teeth ! x x

our night - dd woke twice trying to kick her covers off and getting tangled up in them....note to self: leave the blardy covers off!!!! on the + side, she didnt wake for milk til 4am

tam - dont think youre pompous at all my love. ta for the links, actually, i've had some topshop jeans and theyve been a good fit for me, will try them today after the dentist

meggy, i too am petite with a few curves. am actually slimmer than before dd (dont know how i managed that!!) but have got an arse for sure

ibs - i'm normally a primark girl myself, but it just so happens i had a birthday recently ....so ta to the rellies, jeans it is!!!! hope last night was good with no crying [hopefull emoticon]

hi to mammat

and hi to ginger, didnt do anything different, and as you can see, it was a fluke!!!

amber, hope youre feeling better love

skirmish for your night and helpful
dh! i will scour tkmaxx, forgot about there too.....you can tell i'm not an experienced shopper can't you?

oh and a hi to EP, hope lo feeling brighter today

tibsy · 25/09/2007 08:42

meggy poor you. hope you can get sopme rest today. big hugs coming your way lovely xx

ibs, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. i'll really really miss you.....of course i'm chuffed to bits for your sleeping girlie, if a little do pop back, make it up if you have to

Tamdin · 25/09/2007 08:55

Baz you're going but that you've cracked it. I'm sure it'll be onwards and upwards from now on.
will look out for you on other threads and face book! Take care x

Tibs for dentist but enjoy your jean shopping! dd doing well with the milk too

MEG what a horrid night
Trust me we've all been there it does pass. It must be teeth if he's not eating either.
def try to lie down if he naps today. even if you can't sleep you need to lie still for a while!

Skirmsih yoru night sounds very good
glad to hear dh helping out as he'll have no choice when new baby arrives!

Our night was good
ds asleep from awake in cot at 7.30
woke at 2.35 (in with us)
woke at 7.45

somewhere in there he had 2oz milk but he refused his going to bed bottle as he'd eaten so much yesterday so looks like he's cutting out his milk thankfully!

tibsy · 25/09/2007 09:08

tam, thats a fab night youre getting there lovely!!!! well done toddler tam the man

tibsy · 25/09/2007 09:14

do you know, i joined facebook to see what all you girlies were on about and i've never bloody used it since ..... well, apart from thanking ibs for my champagne

EffiePerine · 25/09/2007 09:20

Baz: we'll miss you! You can pop in even if your LO is sleeping you know

Meg: for your night. Does calpol/medised/nurofen help? If he's still not eating, might be worth a quick trip to the gp/hv to rule out any probs. Does sound like teeth though. What about retiring to bed with some books and toys? He might drop off unexpectedly and give you time for a snooze.

Tam: another good night . If we were down to one waking I would be v pleased.

Def an improved night for us, despite the fact that DS would NOT go to sleep havong had a late afternoon nap. Only woke a few times and I think we had some long stretches of sleep. He's much better and not wheezing any more . DH suspects him of pulling a sickie as he miraculously recovered at about lunchtime yesterday!

Jeans: I find Gap useful as you can try on different cuts. Topshop no good for me (wide of arse and chunky of leg but a small waist). I havea pair of Diesel jeans from my MIL and they are a nice fit. Apparantly Gap long & lean are good - don't like skinny jeans v much.

Tamdin · 25/09/2007 09:28

lol at ep's ds pulling a sickie

tibs get your act together and join us on facebook!

Amberjee · 25/09/2007 10:09

do n't get me wrong, i ain't wearing no skinny jeans!
also, i feel a bit the same as topshop. it's such an easy shopping option because they have so much choice, but when i go there all the teenagers and loud music kinda scares me
tam, i'm longing for a pair of wellies though, i gotta do it before we move back to aus!
poor meg, we have a regular breakfast refuser here too. i swear he'll be one of those peop;le who grabs a coffee on the way to work and nothing more for breakfast.
we did have a good night though. woke at 2.30 and 6, back until 7.15. awesome! maybe it was that darned tooth after all. but i'm sure the other one needs to come through soon.
IBS so sad to see you go. pop in occassionally even if you're having good nights. so happy it's worked out for you though.
for ep's ds' sickie. at least he's learning early!

MegBusset · 25/09/2007 12:56

Thanks all... after a bit of a teary morning I'm feeling slightly better now (still knackered, though). Just felt like a failure as I'm struggling to teach my baby to sleep and eat

Baz, sorry to see you go, but it's for a good reason , don't be a stranger now!

Hope everyone else is having a nice day. Are we still on for tomorrow?

EffiePerine · 25/09/2007 12:58

I'm still on for meeting up, despite 2 sore arms after giving blood (mutter mutter). 2pm in the cafe at the Geffrye Museum?

Meg: you're NOT a failure. Teething is hellish (and it does sound like teeth). DS quite like soft / cold things when teething - scrambled eggs usually popular, as are apples (but your DS might be a bit young for a whole apple).

gingerninja · 25/09/2007 13:05

baz, good luck for your continued success. and to see you go. Take care

Meg, hope you're feeling a little happier this pm. It's so hard to keep it together on days like those, especially when others start sleeping. You feel like you'll be the only one left. All i can say is, we're still here and can offer you a virtual cuppa and shoulder.

i love my wellies. I potter around the garden in them all the time. can't wait for dd to start walking proper so I can get some for her! I also need some jeans. Crawling around the floor at the toddler group i have made a hole in the knee. But, i'm also big of arse, wide of leg and a midget to boot. I wouldn't call myself petite just short and jeans are soooooo hard to find for a short arse. i hate the fact that they call them petite but they're still about 5 inches too long) In the past I've bought them from the USA but don't think I'll be going there for a while.

Our sleep OK. WOke at 2.30, briefly 5 and then 6 for the day. Yay a lay in!! I just wish i could go back to sleep more easily.

gingerninja · 25/09/2007 13:06

ooh I'd love to go to the Geffrye Museum. We'll have to organise a meeting for a weekend perhaps
