  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

Oh and DS is walking! Well, tottering between DH and I. He can stand up really well and take 3-4 steps on his own

EffiePerine · 24/09/2007 09:21

Skirmish: can you knoeel by the cot instead? I can't as we have a travel cot that's v low down. It would save your back a little.

EffiePerine · 24/09/2007 09:24

That should be DH and me shouldn't it? [foggy head]

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 09:27

yay for your dh taking care of poorly ds. hope he is better soon. must be vry exciting with teh walking.
we just had to lower the cot to the lowest setting due to ds pulling himself up on the bars,so now i probably am going to kill my back.

EffiePerine · 24/09/2007 09:31

I was doing really well with my back pre-DS, did Alexander Technique for ages. Then bfing + buggy pushing + cot buggered it all up again. Not idea how to lift ton weight DS out of cot in approved fashion

Considering adding FHD (Foggy Head Day) to SIFTW acronymns

DH reports DS much better

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 09:40

skirmish for your early start and your back!

Amber for your lie in but for multiple wakenings. I'd put money on a tooth!

EP hope ds is feeling better soon. you're very lucky dh can care for him at home. Cm probably glad too!
I hated phoning parents (from nursery) to say they had to come and collect their lo when he/she was sick. Some of the responses were not to pleasant

Here's a story when I worked at the nursery for you....

I had to phone one of the mums to come collect her dd (chicken pox) but she wasn't at work.
Phoned her dh to say could he come get dd but said he was miles away and to phone dw at work. I said I have but work say she has booked a day's holiday.
The mum was having an affair and had taken the day off to be with other man and I outed her by accident!!!!

MegBusset · 24/09/2007 09:43

Blimey, loads of messages.

Tibs: Happy birthday and what a welcome pressie from DD!

Baz: Sounds like it's all working out for you.

EP: Hope DS' cough clears up soon.

Amber: At least you have a reason for all the wakings!

Tam: at cat-like DS in bed.

Skirmish: for bad night and back pain, I'm sure I have done some serious damage with all the bending over the cot.

Ours was a pretty bad night, though at least the evening was settled. Took ages to settle to sleep after major crying jag, woke 11, then loads between 1 and 2.30, then 4 and in bed with us, then at least once more before up for the day 7.15. He has been a complete nightmare to settle for naps the last couple of days as well, tending to flip on his front as soon as I put him down, then get really wound up when I flip him onto his back. (He will not settle to sleep on his front either.)

He is desperate to crawl, did anyone else's LO go a bit mental at this stage?

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 11:37

do you like these? www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=true&catalogId=195 51&storeId=12556&categoryId=74413&parentcategoryrn=42358&productId=441915&langId=-1

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 11:39

or these?

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 11:40

need a pair of flat boots for park/playgroup etc. sorry know i should put this in style but feel like i know you lot!

MegBusset · 24/09/2007 12:25

Ooh, I love those first ones. I wish I could wear boots like that but I just don't have the legs for 'em

ImBarryScott · 24/09/2007 12:25

Love them both! First ones marginally better though. Just myself some long biker boot style ones for work (run around all day like a blue-arsed fly!).

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 12:45

i prefer the first ones too so looks like we have a winner!

tibsy · 24/09/2007 13:45

thanks all!!

amber for that tooth, lets hope things settle down for a bit....well until the next one

skirmish - for your poor back. i must admit, i've noticed a few twinges from carrying dd around a lot. what's your edd?

meg - dd went a bit doolally when she started turning over/ crawling/ walking on her walker. think they get a bit confused/frustrated/pleased...all of the above

EP for lo walking...what a star!!! glad he's perked up a bit

Tam know its a bit late, but i like the first pair too could i prevail upon your knowledge/ideas now...i would like to get a new pair of jeans, but am not too sure what style to get.. normally wear the boyf style or the like, but would like to have a slightly more fitted pair.

tibsy · 24/09/2007 13:46

meggy - i'm a shortarse too!!

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 15:13

i like the first ones tam. they look brilliant. i just bought new boots yesterday and i am in lurrrve with them. though a bit embarrassed as i would have to class them as an 'investment' rather than a purchase

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 15:17

tibs, i am sooo bad at buying jeans. i have one pair i love to death and i don't know what i will do when they wear out. hopefully never! i hate the real skinny jeans that are in today, never can get em on , but i like jeans that are reasonably fitting in the thigh but go out to a bootleg cut. that's just me. no idea where to get em from though. my advice would be to go somewhere where you can try on a billion pairs to see what fits and suits you. and take a friend for a second opinion!

tibsy · 24/09/2007 15:55

i know amber, i'm generally crap at shopping anyway!!!! its a bit tricky trying things on with lo about too. will ask dp to have her on sat i think and call upon the honest opinion of my friend jill

tibsy · 24/09/2007 15:56

oh... and i like the look of the skinny jeans but dont think i'll get em past me knees

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 16:24

I absolutely swear by '7 for all mankind' jeans for fit/quality/wash well etc but they are an investment as they start about £150
I have 4 pairs but before you think i'm mental my mil has bought 2 of them as presents, i bought 1 recently and the other pair i've had at least 3 years and they still fit like a glove.

used to wear diesal but not sure what they are like now (?)

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 17:34

i have one pair of 7's (as they say) and yes they are lovely. though strangely i still prefer my cheap warehouse purchased jeans whose brand i can never remember.

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 17:37

eughhh, i fear i'm coming down with a cold. body starting to ache. and ds is all snotty too. sigh.

tibsy · 24/09/2007 17:48

think they may be a tad out of my price range

amber - poor you and little man, hope you feel better soon. honey and fresh lemon always works for me, even if it doesnt, it tastes yummy

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 19:53

yeah, will get out hte manuka honey

Tamdin · 24/09/2007 20:17

amber hope the manuka does the trick. i thougt i was getting a cold as have sore throat then realised it's prob due to the increase in singing I've been having to do every night to get ds to sleep

Tibs hope it didn't come across as pompus re jeans.
i buy topshops skinny jeans but the prob is they stretch alot so go the size down eg if i buy 28w32 they are too big in a day or two and you spend your life pulling them up so i have to buy 26w32 which are a bit tight until they loosen up iyswim.
I'm in the market for a high waisted pair...
