  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

good to see i'm not the only one who loves a good pair of wellies!

lol though said to my single childless freind that i was getting the same pair as her and i hope she didn't mind and she said "don't be silly not at all and they're brilliant for festivals and concerts"

I know she speaks the truth but my first thought when i ordered them was !oh these will be good for going for a walk up the hills'...................... what's happened to me!

ImBarryScott · 25/09/2007 20:09

forgot to say before, I shall keep lurking, and will be celebrating those good nights with you.

Morning all

Good night here
bed at 7.30 from awake in cot
woke at 11 (in with us)
woke at 7.15 for day

had 2oz milk in there but no idea of time!

skirmish · 26/09/2007 08:05

morning (a good one I hope )

tams - sounds like a good night - long may it continue

baz- well done on having a good sleeper. It's amazing how much less stressful parenting becomes when you get a decent nights kip

ok night here - a bit unsettled in the evening, nothing too major (lots of dribble, so perhaps more teeth on the way). Stirred briefly at 5, but left him til 6 (woo hoo) for milk, and then up at 6.50am. Feel half decent for a change, plus, have lovely new memory foam mattress so dh didn't even hear me get up!

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 08:13

of new mattress skirmish! can't wait to move house and get a new 7ft bed!!

skirmish · 26/09/2007 08:30

7ft!! thats just being greedy!

i long for a 6ft! or two doubles pushed together!! but, bad backs in this house couldn't wait til we move unfortunately.

Have you found a house then?

EffiePerine · 26/09/2007 08:36

A good night Tam

Ours was pretty good too: bed at about 9:30 (not sure what's happening there but I suspect lie-ins with Daddy are having an effect) then didn't wake till about 2:30 . A few wakings after that and up at about 8. It's a nice sunny day here (so far) so am taking him to the park for walking practice before tea

Ginger: a weekend do sounds like a good plan. How id your DD settlng in at nursery now? And is work still going OK?

Meg: hope you had a better night.

Skirmish: sounds like a very good one - you deserve it! Am also at the new mattress. Also contemplating a new mahoosive bed when we move (prob early next year). Tam: didn't you have an offer in on the flat?

tibsy · 26/09/2007 08:39

morning ladies!!

tam for your night...am also of potential 7ft mattress!! when will the house be ready lovely?

skirmish - i love you!!! checked out tkmaxx and got 2 pairs of jeans, both of them veritable bargains too!!!! for your night and memory mattress!!

ours was pants, dd has a cough and woke hourly until 3 when she had some milk, then slept til 6.45am
strangely dont feel too bad as she settled with a rubbed back at each waking

best go, need a shower and off to M & Ts ....catch you all later x

tibsy · 26/09/2007 08:40

x posted EP for your night too

EffiePerine · 26/09/2007 08:41

Tibs: sorry you had a rough night. Coughs are a pain. I was worrying he ould throw up as well he was coughing so hard . Well done on the jeans though!

Right, off to make breakfast as DS is gurning. Pancakes this mornig

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 08:52

ep for your night
offer on flat was withdrawn so we're back to square one!
House is coming along but still looks like a building site to me

Tibs yay for TKmaxx. fabulous place that it is. Poor dd with her cough.it drives ds mad and he's usually sick when he coughs too much to everyone's distress

MegBusset · 26/09/2007 09:15

Hi all

Tam yay for good night but for withdrawn offer.

EP and Skirmish, glad you had good nights too.

Tibs for poorly DD, hope she feels better today.

Ours was marginally better than the previous night, but still plenty of wakings -- settled fine until 11 (at least we have not been dashing upstairs all evening recently) then awake 12.30, 2, 4 and in with us, woke once more at some point then up at 7.15. Gave Medised at 2 as he took a while to settle but didn't really seem to help. I'm a bit concerned that these wakings have now become habit rather than because of eczema etc but not really sure what to do about it! Has anyone had success offering water instead of milk in the night?

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 09:18

meg ds is 20 months and i still haven't managed to convince him water is better than milk!
We've reduced the volume slowly and he's now only taking 20z through the night (more of a drink really) so am hoping to ditch it altogether soon.

Sorry remind me what age your ds is again 6, 7 months ?

tibsy · 26/09/2007 09:23

meggy for your improved night, no experience with water instead of milk i'm afraid

tam - we gutted our house when we bought it, but luckily we lived with dps parents whilst we completed most of the work. it gets done eventually for the offer on the apartment tho

Amberjee · 26/09/2007 09:43

hmmm, we haven't even managed a bottle at night let alone water
we had an ok night, two wakings that required feeding. a few others where he just settled himself.
he's going through a weird mummy clinging phase though. the last few days he's been crying when dh holds him but then he's okay if he comes to me. must be horrible for poor dh.

tibsy · 26/09/2007 12:15

amber - dd does that, shes fine if its just her and dada, but as soon as i appear, only mama will do. dp just laughs now, 'oh yeah, mama's best hey?!!'

MegBusset · 26/09/2007 12:20

Tam: he is 7mo, and technically on 3 'meals' a day but not taking huge amounts of food, so I don't want to not feed him if he's hungry, but he fed 4 times last night and that just seems a bit much -- far more often than he feeds in the day!

Ep/Amber: see you in a couple of hours!

Did anyone see Bringing Up Baby last night? Am still seething about it now...

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 12:23

for meg claire verity is a nut case in my opion!

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 12:25

incase you want to complain

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 12:26

enjoy your meet up

tibsy · 26/09/2007 13:47

just me and you then tam

gingerninja · 26/09/2007 14:00

EP DD settling in at nursery nicely. Thanks for asking. I think it's hard when they're part time though because it takes some adjusting again come Wednesday. Work is going well too. I'm enjoying being back.

Meg, water worked for us if she was thirsty which was rare but we had a very easy ride night weaning because DD never really kicked up a fuss. Have you tried resisting and just giving a cuddle? Or perhaps try a bottle at night to break the association?

Amber, my DD is exactly the opposite at the moment. Doesn't want to know me! It's a phase, soon he'll only want his dad.

I didn't watch bringing up... becasue I'd read a post Aitch wrote on it the other day (she was reviewing it) and it sounded horrible. I'm wishing I had now. Perhaps it's on my demand service (which incidentally Tam is a service Virgin have on their cable package it just lets you watch programmes that have been on during the week at your leisure. Bit like a digital recorder I guess but they also have a back catalogue of comedies, drama etc.)

DH took over last night and had a pants night. Trying to get DD transisioning to cows milk but I don't think it's agreeing with her. She was unsettled all night and this morning was very very upset. I'd been diluting formula with cows milk so I'm gonna stop for a while. When should I stop the formula? If she can't have /won't have cows or goats milk can I carry on with formula?

Tamdin · 26/09/2007 14:34

ginger ds still on formula! 2oz diluted in 4oz water. both gp and homeopath said it was fine as he's allergic to cows milk.

gingerninja · 26/09/2007 20:24

Ooh thanks Tam. I honestly think dairy is the key to all the eczema, upset tummies we have but it's so hard to make sure she has a balanced diet without it. I'll just carry on the formula then.

Apparently she had her best day at nursery today so fingers crossed she's settled.
