  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

OP posts:
Tamdin · 22/09/2007 20:37

is that with sky plus? we have it but don't know how to do that

Amberjee · 23/09/2007 07:21

morning! we had an okay night. ds woke a lot but settled himself, so i only got up twice to feed.

skirmish · 23/09/2007 08:21

morning - similar sort of night here. Quite unsettled up til about 11pm, crying/sitting up etc (all with eyes closed though )...woke at 5.30, left him (so he either went back to sleep or was very still!) til 6, bottle, and no luck getting him back to sleep but stayed in nursery til 7.

Now desperately trying to keep him awake til normal nap time at 9ish - though, very funny, he's obviously so tired, he's slumped over in front of tv!

Hope everyone had decent nights...anyone got anything good planned today?

tibsy · 23/09/2007 08:25

morning!!!

tam and ginger hope you both had lovely evenings ginger for those early starts

amber for your self settling boy and your one waking. about time too!!!!!

our night good, woke at 12.30ish, offered the bottle but she declined!!! we gave her a cuddle and she dropped off til 4.50am, when i fed her.......i had a lie in too, 7.15am, whoo hoo

better dash, its dp's birthday today and have got to wake him up with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday, some cake and coffee.......we'll be doing it all again tomorrow as its my birthday then!!!

tibsy · 23/09/2007 08:27

x posted skirmish for the unsettled part of the evening. hope you get some rest today, bless little un slumped in front of tv, ahhhh

Tamdin · 23/09/2007 09:45

happy birthday tibsy's dp!
good night tibs and for your lie in.

Skirmish sound sliek a decent night

amber glad ds gone back to 2 wakings

Our night was good...

ds went to sleep in cot at 7.30
woke at 2 to come in with us (had 4oz milk)
woke at 8.15 for the day

Dh hastaken him out for his walk/park and cooked breakfast.

I know i'm lucky as both sat and sun mornings dh takes ds out from 9.30-11.30 and then brings him home in time for nap so I don't have to do any parenting until 1ish

tibsy · 23/09/2007 10:03

wow tam!! lucky you......wanna swap????
think dp having a bit of a crisis now hes 35 .....as long as he doesnt want a flash car or run off with an 18 year old nympette!!!!!

yey for your night. thats a long stretch in his cot well done toddler tam

Tamdin · 23/09/2007 10:13

I know, dh is very 'good' isn't he

I thought he might give it a miss today as he was out for dinner with his friend last night and he said they drank 2 and half bottles of red wine.
He loves mornings, always has. during the week he gets up before ds about 6.30 and goes for a run. wish i had his motivation.

anyhting nice planned for dp today?

tibsy · 23/09/2007 10:21

god, that is motivated!!!
just having the family around today. thought we could go out tonight to bring in my birthday too (mum offered to babysit) but he's in a bit of a flunk so couldnt get an answer out of him, other than 'if you want'
never mind, i'm out with the girls next week and we're going out together the week after so thatll make up for it

tibsy · 23/09/2007 10:22

tibsy · 23/09/2007 10:24

Happy birthday Tibs and dp

Our night was ok, quite a few wakings inc 3.30-4,30 but slept in til 7.30 so feel ok.

Hi everyone else

Tamdin · 23/09/2007 10:25

oh dear tibs sound like dp might have the birthday blues
do you think if you dragged him out tonight he would have a good time once you got there? does he have to work tomorrow? in which case he might not want the hangover!

Tamdin · 23/09/2007 10:26

x posted tibs and meg.

forget questions tibs. have lovely day

meg hour waking is hard but glad you got bit of a lie in. the darker mornings def help us. couldn't believe ds didn't wake until after 8 this morning!

ImBarryScott · 23/09/2007 13:50

hi everyone,

many happy returns to Mr. Tibsy.

Tam - hope you had a lovely morning off!

Meg for that long waking but glad you are feeling in fine fettle.

Amber for your ds self settling - what a little star.

Skirmish - hope the nap panned out ok

Just got back from seeing MIL and FIL off on their holiday - on the Orient Express. just does not really cover it!

Fine night here. DD up twice, self-settled each time, up for the day at 6.30.

EffiePerine · 23/09/2007 19:13

Sounds like some good nights . The 1 hour waking sounds tough, Meg. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tibs for tomorrow!

We had a bit of a crap night, DS ill with a cough so kept waking up and crying . Am convinced some bugs are bring spread through MN as he has a bit of a chest infection - was wheezing today . Decided not to take him to emergency GP as he was OK in himself, although a bit more clingy than normal. If he hasn;t improved tomorrow DH will take him in,. Anyway, he's been Mediseded up and is now fast asleep, so we shall see what tonight brings...

Ginger, Tam and Meg: glad your LOs are feeling better. This illness season is a bit crap, isn't it?

Yay Tam for the cot . I confess I'm giving up on ours for the time being as DS takes ages to settle in it - he's in our bed with the bedrail up and I'm checking on him regularly. Am v of your lie-ins, though I did get a bath this morning while DH gave DS his breakfast.

Tamdin · 23/09/2007 20:55

Hi Baz. missed you earlier. Hopefully catch you tomorrow

Hi EP.
ds not quite as co-operative with going down in the cot tonight. took about 30 mins of hand holding and singing. (no wonder i have a sore throat)but he went off eventually. No tears which is the main thing for me.

He's awake atm but dh has gone to resettle.

Hope tonight goes ok and your ds is a little better in the morning.

night

tibsy · 24/09/2007 06:53

morning lovely ladies!!!
guess what?....dd slept thru til 6am!!! she mumbled a couple of times and i just reached out touched her back and.....nothing!! dont know if thats technically 'thru the night', but it worked for me she's now gone back off to sleep happy birthday to me!!

ok, enough of that....
EP, for poor lo. hope he gets better soon. I hope the medised enabled him to get some rest last night(and you and dh of course)

Meg, for your hour long waking (they slay me)...hope last night saw an improvement

Ibs for your continued success and i second your at the ils trip!!

Tam - hope dh worked his magic on ds and he had a good night, you two too

and i hope ginger, amber and skirmish had good nights or at the very least, doable ones

havent heard from xcupcake, mrsth, clairey et al for a while...think theyre all sleeping

EffiePerine · 24/09/2007 07:11

What a fab birthday present Tibs! Hope it continues

As expected, not a great night for us, DS pretty uncomfortable with his cough. Gave him some baby nurofen as well as Medised as he had a fever, but he vomited that straight back up . Anyway, he (and we) got some sleep, but it's abit of a shock being wakened by an angry yell in the ear rather than a gentle snuffle!

Hope everyone else had a good night

ImBarryScott · 24/09/2007 07:38

Many happy returns Tibs! What a lovely present from DD. Can you tell her it's your birthday every day ?

EP - so sorry to hear DS is still poorly. Hope he picks up soon.

Tam - well done on the settling! What is it with LOs and singing? Books get DD very excited, so she has lullabies instead - or whatever Smiths song I can remember the words to. Will have to learn something more appropriate soon.

Fine night, if late, due to yesterday's gallivanting. No tears. Mother and Toddler today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TIBS

yay for your through the night. how obliging of dd to enable you to start your birthday well rested

BAZ for another good night for you. I think we can safely say your dd sleeps through the night. wish i had your courage to try it but i think i've missed the boat age wise and I'm too much of a wimp!

EP poor ds totally sympathise as ds cannot sleep if he has a cough and it inevitably ends up with him being sick

Our night was mixed.
ds has a really annoying habit of pummeling his feet in bed(like a cat ) so dh got a bit snippy as he was doing it in his back so he shoved him my way and put a pillow between them.
ds then proceeded to do it to me but it doesn't bother me that much.
He's also starting to talk in his sleep so he cried out mummy a few times but was fast asleep.
all in all i was disturbed a bit but nothing compared to the old days so i feel ok today

skirmish · 24/09/2007 08:38

Happy Birthday tibs

ggrrr to everyone having good nights, and double at tams dh!!! ..same old same old here...except woke at 5.15 and just would not go back to sleep until 6.30am - I ended up in tears pleading with him to stop being a shit and go back to sleep

i'm in agony from bending over the bloody cot to rub his back, and it's only bloody day 3 of my masterplan that probably won't even work!!

sorry for the moan - this is one of the few places where people really seem to understand sleep deprivation!!

not many happy faces in this house today!

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 09:06

Tibs yay for baby tibs and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

we had a sleep in til 8 this morning but sure did need it after the super amount of wakings. But I've got a sneaking suspicion that a tooth (the first) has come through, though LO won't let me look, I think Ican feel it. tam might have been right after all. yay.

IBS, I'm so glad you've had success and it seemed so fast. Your LO must have been ready to sleep, but just needed a little shift in the rightdirection.
ep, sorry ds is still not well, hope he improves soon.
tam, they sure have weird habits in bed/asleep, my LO does a weird foot thumping thing.

Amberjee · 24/09/2007 09:07

and hi skirmish, i know what you mean about back pain, i tried pick up put down for 1 night, and gave up because it was hell.

EffiePerine · 24/09/2007 09:17

Skirmish: soprry you're having a hard time. I think we've all sworn at our LOs at some point (I know I have!) - it is hard when you'refrustrated and they are *not& cooperating. Hope you get a rest today.

Baz: well done your DD . I'm with Tam on being too wimpy for CC but so glad it's working for you.

Got soaked on the way to work this morning - autumn has arrived with a vengeance! DH is looking after poorly DS as we didn't think he was well enough to go to the cm's. I'm so lucky DH can take over as I would either be taking an emergency day off (v difficult today as we're short staffed) or sitting here worrying about DS and whether I would have to pick him up and take him to the GP. Anyway, as DH said it's the first time he's been properly ill so we've been lucky so far. And he was crawling about destroying things last night after the vom incident so couldn't be feeling that bad. Also so glad I am still bfing as he wouldn't eat much yesteday, just wanted milk. Not that my crappy immune system will probably help much
