  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 16:03

meg, wouldn't worry, it's quite normal for weight to plateau at this age.
yay,i got a kip. ds slept for 2 hours, so i prob managed 1.5. feeling decidedly more human.
btw did we decide what time next wednesday??

MegBusset · 21/09/2007 18:21

We have had two major vom incidents today, one after lunch/milk and one just now after tea/milk. Seriously Exorcist-style projectile puking nice! Don't know if he has picked up a bug, or had a reaction to something had a teeny bit of courgette for the first time at lunch but otherwise no new food in the last couple of days.

Anyway, it means he must have an empty tummy as he threw up an enormous volume of milk both times, so not sure if I should try feeding him again before bedtime...

I'm not sure if we decided on a time for Weds, though afternoons are better for us...

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 18:46

poor little mite, what's with all the vomiting going on?
dh promised to be home by 6.30, so i was waiting for him to do the bathing. he just called to say he's leaving now , so guess i'll just do it and put LO to bed. sigh.

ImBarryScott · 21/09/2007 19:05

Meg - hope your poor DS bounces back soon.

Amber - I am with you on the for non-appearing husbands. Mine called a couple of hours ago saying he doesn't think he'll be finished work before I turn in for the night.

At least I've bought myself a magazine, and I might even risk having a bubble bath and hope DD stays asleep long enough for me to enjoy it .

So pleased for those with improvements especially Tam how brilliant. for those suffering more than normal. Our night was a bit better in the sense that we didn't have any dirty nappies but she's still got a poorly tummy and a bit unsettled. DH is also still feeling a little under the weather so I guess it'll just take time. I'm a terrible nurse maid and get really impatient with ill people What a terrible mummy and wife these two have

Amber I'd also have been fuming with DH for being out til three on a school night. It's OK if you're warned but I hate sitting worrying why he hasn't come home because I can't relax.

Hope you got a break this evening.

ImBarryScott · 22/09/2007 08:20

Morning everyone,

Looks like we're the first up.

Hi Ginger - sorry to hear the lurgy still rules in the Ginger household. I know what you mean about being a crap nurse though - I've no patience either (think work zaps all of mine).

Reasonable night here. DD woke and grizzled about 3 times from 3am, but stopped each time before I'd had chance to grab my specs and dressing gown . DH blundering in at 5am from work didn't help though.

Fab news on settling to sleep though. For her lunch nap yesterday, and at bedtime, she just went to sleep. No tears! I'm not expecting this to become the norm, but it still felt fab.

Miss the cuddling to sleep though .

Hope to hear of some good nights.

skirmish · 22/09/2007 08:33

morning baz - we are of course up, i just figured that you were all lucky people who had partners that did the weekend morning shifts!!

ok night here. Decided yest that i would stop bringing ds into bed in the morning and that 6am would be the earliest i would feed him....woke at 5.30am, went in, did shush/pat/rub to no avail (couldn't quite face cc, esp at that time of the day!!), gave milk at 6.10, more shush/pat and asleep at 6.30 and up at 7.10...hopefully, it will all get easier, and that i will have some success!

EffiePerine · 22/09/2007 08:45

at getting a break on weekend mornings. Only if I ask DH in advance and get a form signed in triplicate

A bit of an improvemtn here, but still difficult to get DS to settle to sleep. Not as many wakings though (I don't think).

Amber: give your DH a kick from me!

Baz: that's fab. So glad your plan is working!

WEDS: looks like afternoon good - about 2pm?

Tamdin · 22/09/2007 08:49

baz sounds like a good night
excellent on the no tears to nap/bed. you derserve it for being so brave to tough it out.

Ginger hope you're all feeling better soon.
I'm not the best nurse maid either. infact DH is way more patient than me where illness is concerned.

Skirmish. your new plan sound like a good 'un!

Meg vom sessions. has he ever done it before?

Well knew the sleeping through would be a one off!
not too bad a night but did wake a few times asking for milk and then another couple of cries out (dreaming i think) but it woke me.

must of gotten some sleep though as i was dreaming sylar was chasing me and a group of friends and we all had special powers! (all that talk of heroes!)

Tamdin · 22/09/2007 08:51

amber forgot to say at your dh. give him a kick from me too!

EP.. I've added another bad habit to the list. ds has been faling asleep in our bed and staying there!
before he used to go to sleep in his cot and then wake 11 or 12 ish.
dh said this morning i'm not allowed to do that anymore and he's to go in his cot tonight for the going to sleep part. dh is of course out tonight!

ImBarryScott · 22/09/2007 08:51

hi skirmish - fingers crossed that your plan works.

EP - glad things are on the up, albeit slowly.

I've no chance of a lie-in! Even if Dh hasn't been working late, he's not exactly what you'd call a morning person.

EP - we won't be able to make this Weds, as DH is off, so we're having a family day. But would love to come if there's another outing. I've been road-testing the sleeping in the buggy thing, and it's getting better, so we're much more free now.

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 22/09/2007 08:52

Meg: there are some bugs going round atm (our cm was sick last week) so would gues at a bug rather than a courgette iintolerance. DS has been a bit snotty and was coughing last night, but no vomiting - yet...

skirmish · 22/09/2007 08:53

so no really bad nights then?! (i dreamt of richard hammond - quite nice actually )

also, glad to hear that i'm not the only one whose dh needs 6mths advance warning on doing a morning shift (or any shift for that matter!)

ImBarryScott · 22/09/2007 08:53

x-posted Tam.

glad you didn't have a shocker, even if the previous night's wonders weren't repeated.

Oh, and I reckon if DH is out tonight, then you play by your rules, not his .

OP posts:
MegBusset · 22/09/2007 09:28

Morning all! Our night was OK, slept 7.30-12.30 which is the longest stretch in months. Then fed 3ish and 5ish then in bed with us til 8.

No more vomming so far, but has mostly refused breakfast (banana ready brek, his favourite) so maybe he's still feeling a bit off...

Baz so pleased you seem to be getting past the crying stage.

Hi to everyone else

tibsy · 22/09/2007 09:59

morning all!!
an ok night for us, just the 1 waking at 2.45am!! so i got a decent stretch of sleep ....just as well as dd woke at 6am

lie in skirmish? i wish. like ibs, my dp is not a morning person either, errrr, come to think of it, i wouldnt be if i had the flaming choice!! glad your night was ok

meg - pleased lo ok today, if still a little off colour. its horrid to see them sick yey for your 5 hour stretch

ibs - am so pleased that you seem to have moved on from the crying. you're doing a great job love

hi tam, just when we think we've cracked it eh? he'll do it again tho, i know he will

EP for your improvements

Ginger - hope lo better soon and poor dh too. its hard work looking after the ill uns! hope you get some rest yourself

poor amber hope things are ok with you and you managed to get a break. if not, why not take yourself out today for a little, escape!!!!
oh yeah, a give dh a kick up the bum from me as well!!!! gosh, he'll be black and blue

am very of your meet up on weds.......i wanna come!!!!

tibsy · 22/09/2007 10:02

tam, i reckon you should play by your rules too!!! if dh is out, all bets are off

Amberjee · 22/09/2007 10:10

meg, glad your night seemed okay, hope he's on the road to health.
and yours too ginger, seems to be a lotof bugs aroundat the moment.
i had a lie in - yay dh!
ibs, sorry we won't see you next wed, but definitely soon.
skirmish, hope that morning thing gets easier.
ep, hope you got your triple form signed for a lay in.
i made a fewboden purchases during the week, and got them today - i Like! it's the first time i bought from them, but i got a snowsuit for ds and a few bits for me. verrrry good. i've got 10% discount code and free delivery/free returns offer if anyone wants it let me know. you also get a free crinkle wrap top if you spend enough!
tam, i'm really sad i've been missing heroes. i'm just not disciplined enough about my tv watching.
have i missed anyone? is tibs up yet?

Amberjee · 22/09/2007 10:11

oh hello tibs! yay for one waking.

MegBusset · 22/09/2007 10:26

Morning lie-in? Fat chance! DH is not a morning person, at least until he has had a good strong cup of tea {wink]

2pm on Weds is fine with me btw, might be a wee bit later 'cause the trains only run every half hour, so let's swap numbers by email in case we miss each other.

Tamdin · 22/09/2007 17:48

evening all.

dh out.
ds eating his dinner
ds not in great form today. very lythargic and not interested in anything
I on the other hand have glass of wine in hand and my viewing all lined up for tonight

MegBusset · 22/09/2007 19:33

Hope your DS feels better soon, Tam. And that you are enjoying that large glass of vino

gingerninja · 22/09/2007 20:09

Wine, now that's what I need. Tam what are you watching. There's nothing on this telly box tonight. DH is painting, I'm faffing.

DH took over last night and I got a good night. DD woke at 5.15 for the day this is gonna be 4.15 in a few weeks and I'm petrified about it. It doesn't matter what time she goes to bed she still gets up too early. Anyway, at least I wasn't disturbed until 6

Hope everyone gets better nights tonight.

Tamdin · 22/09/2007 20:21

ginger i've forgotten about your dd and milk. would she take a bottle at that time and go back over? sorry stupid question really.

I've been watching x factor and jonathan ross recorded from last night.

put ds to bed at 7.15
I put him in cot and he lay down. He took some milk and we sang a few songs (ridiculous i know)
He asked to come onto the bed once but i said no lie down and we'll sing some more songs
and he did!
was asleep in 5 minutes

was expecting much worse

gingerninja · 22/09/2007 20:36

Hi Tam, yes she takes milk but doesn't go back to sleep unfortunately.

Congrats for your success. Have a good eve. Might watch JRoss myself. We have Catch up on demand TV with our cable.
