  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

our night was a vast improvement on the previous 4 wakings. she just woke once!!!! offered her the bottle, she wasnt too impressed then slept til 6.30am

amber, hope youre catching some zzzzzzzzzz's

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 08:52

yes he was in bed late as we were out at a friends.

I figured i'd cut out the settling in cot stage as i was tired so we got straight into bed when we got home (dh likes to stay up for a while to 'chill'). he was alseep in 15 mins and didn't move a muscle until this morning

dh was so well rested he got up and went for a run at 6.30 this morning!

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 08:53

well done tibs for you 1 waking.

baz what a lovely voice you have

skirmish · 21/09/2007 08:55

blimey, everyone seems to have had a good night. A couple of little cries last night (don't know how they manage to cry, sit up and stay asleep??!!) and then awake at 5.20, into bed with me, faffing about until bottle at 6 - woken by damn postman at 7.10 (my fault, really must stop internet shopping!!)

to those who have the early morning wakers, do you get up? and then do what? just curious really

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 08:59

skirmish when ds wakes early i go ahead and give him his breakfast and then i usually sort out the laundry or tidy up. find i'm more efficient in the morning!

tibsy · 21/09/2007 09:03

i get up too!! give dd some brekkie and, yep, i've sorted out my laundry too!!!!

off to town now then play planet, ooohhhh, not been before, just more soft play stuff. dd will love it no doubt. so toodleooooo, catch you all later x

MegBusset · 21/09/2007 09:21

Morning all. Amber hope you're OK.

Hi Tibs, Tam, Baz, Skirmish and for the good nights. Ours was not too bad, very unsettled from 9-10 (tooth, I think) so gave Medised, then woke 2, 5 and 7 for the day. Managed to keep him in his cot all night as well.

Skirmish, DS does sometimes wake up at 6 , I bring him into bed for half an hour then when I'm feeling human enough I get up. I hate those days though 'cause it buggers up the timings for his naps etc.

EffiePerine · 21/09/2007 09:34

Wow, Tam! That sounds like a great night. Glad to see other good night as well. Ours was not - waking lots and feeding a lot as well. I think a combination of teeth and not eating a lot during the day. As I'm not feeding during the day I don;t have masses of milk at night. Don't want to offer water or cow's milk instead in case he starts waking up for that as well, so maybe just need to ride this one out (zzzzzzz).

Amber: hope your night improved . Vomitig babies are not good.

Skirmish: DS nearly a year old . There is no stats thread as too lazy/tired to do one!

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 09:50

EP sorry your night wasn't great. if it makes you feel any better i know last night will be a one off for us and we're still no where near him sleeping on his own!

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 09:55

thanks everyone and Yayayayayay for Tamdin - you must feel like a new woman.
so, our night. dh was out until 2am. am i wrong for being just a little mad? ds had a crazy night. he just fights going to sleep so much again. didn't want to go to bed in the evening. finally went to sleep at 9.15, but woke as soon as i went to bed so i just kept him in bed with me until dh got home. then i wanted to move him as dh had been drinking, he said only a few, but you kjnow, i wanted to be safe. then ds woke up a billion times, had a screaming fit at 4.30, you know the kind when they do that roaring kind of angry yelling. and i had to leave and go downstairs and dh had to get up and deal with it for a bit. after that, i was in tears and couldn't get back to sleep. so i just got up at 5.30 and had a bath and did a manic house tidy until ds woke up at 8.

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 10:02

it wouldn't make sense for ds to drop his first nap at 9 months would it. i thought it's meant to be about 12-18 months. yeah, i know he's advanced, but it can't be.
must be just a phase
this morning's nap was (if you can call it a nap) 10 minutes long. beat that!

EffiePerine · 21/09/2007 10:06

Amber: DS has started yelling when waking at night as well which I am classing again as TEETH. He is in discomfort but feeding helps, so I don't give calpol (perhaps I should). BUt then I gave him some Medised last night and he only slept for a couple of hours, so perhaps something else? I thin kthey just have nights like that, esp in a growth spurt. Try and get some rest today and let DH take over this evening if you need a break. He owes you one! We can prop each other up on Wednesday like this

tibsy · 21/09/2007 10:23

amber for your night and you're not wrong to feel a bit put out. agree with EP (hi EP!!) get dh to do the leg work tonight

right, really am off now

oh and a big hi to meg, glad your night was doable too!!

ImBarryScott · 21/09/2007 11:28

Amber - I think you are right to feel a little peeved, and I agree with EP that it's probably DH's turn to do the bed and bath things tonight

Tibs - glad things were better last night

EP - poor DS, it must be hard for the little mite not to be able to feed comfortably.

Meg - pleased to here that your night was reasonable

Skirmish - glad you got some kip. Not a clue on the early morning waking, I'm afraid!

good night for us. 4 mins tears (still about 3mins 59s too long, but I guess I signed up for this). Up again at 6.30am.

OP posts:
Tamdin · 21/09/2007 11:30

amber I would be a bit miffed with dh too. he was out until 3 not too long ago.

could def be teeth, i found baby nurofen much better than calpol for the pain.

amber ds has only had 1 nap a day from 10 months ish so your ds might be playing around with his nap times again. they never stay in a phase for long do they!!

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 11:32

x posted BAZ
glad you had a good night

Ep teh baby nurofen comment was for you. I didn't make that clear... too mcuh sleep

MegBusset · 21/09/2007 12:09

Any news on your friend's baby yet, Tam?

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 12:38

still no new meg! she was due on wed. mobile etc switched off yesterday because she wanted some peace. Think her mum had phoned her 5 times in an hour!

her previous 2 babies were a few days over due so i'm thinking it might come this weekend. She makes giving birth look easy. dd2 was 10lbs and she had no pain relief!!

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 12:57

thanks everyone. dh didn't seem to understand why i was miffed that he was out so late. and yeah, it was just last saturday that the cabs were apparently on strike until 3
feel better for having met up with friend and taking LO to tune time, even though he only had a 10 min nap.
hopefully he'll crash out for a long one after lunch. xx

EffiePerine · 21/09/2007 13:41

Amber: hope DS got a long nap in.

TYam: DS goes mad on baby nurofen (though he likes the taste). Think it upsets his stomach or maybe it's the flavourings.

Amberjee · 21/09/2007 13:46

thanks i'm off to bed.
ds refuses any kind of medication. lips tight shut.
xx

Tamdin · 21/09/2007 14:37

sorry ep forgot about your ds's reaction to nurofen. prob all the E numbers that are in it

amber hope you get a good rest

MegBusset · 21/09/2007 15:50

Amber hope you are managing to catch up on some kip. And hope DH gives you a break tonight!

Hope everyone else is having a nice day, DH has taken the day off due to hangover (the upside of being a freelancer) so we have been pottering about together, now watching Countdown while LO has a quick nap!

Went to get him weighed today, for the first time in a month, and he has dropped a centile -- HV reckoned it was probably due to taking less milk now he's on solids, so I'm hoping it's nothing to fret about. She also said that the local health authority have cancelled all eight-month check-ups despite them being really important (her words) because of lack of resources . Doesn't seem right to me...
