Bedtime is not going well. I thought two good nights were too good to be true... we go on holiday tomorrow and I've nothing packed. It's DD birthday and I have nothing wrapped.. I do not have the time or energy for this shit 😩

xxrealistmumxx · 05/04/2018 19:35

whoAteAllThePercyPigs definitely not alone, 7.5 months here and nights are still crap :( I just don't always post as it's the same old same old!

Different tonight though, I bit the bullet and moved LO to his own room. It's taken him over half an hour to go to sleep, lots of crying and I've had to reinstate the dummy :( was feeling so pleased to have given it up at 5 months but he is such a grump these days and falling asleep has gotten so much worse so it is back out again. I suspect my night will be spent going backwards and forwards to plug him up! Need to address the dummy use again but one step at a time.

I'm starting to resign myself to this being a long haul. I just don't see how things are going to change much given that he's never done more than a three hour stretch since he was born. Sigh. At least I don't have to creep about my own bedroom any more

Well done baby meepmoop keep it up!

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 05/04/2018 19:45

Ds's first tooth is cutting at the minute,DH is unavailable bad mood. All bodes well...

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 05/04/2018 19:46

Unavailable?? That should say is in a very bad mood.

FrozenMargarita17 · 05/04/2018 20:43

Oh and @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs dd is 8.5 months 😫😫😫😫😫

UtterlyConfused111 · 05/04/2018 21:44

Well done @baby meepmoop
Hope he does it again. The bathroom door story scares me - I’m terrified that would happen - but the babies wouldn’t be with me -,and I wouldn’t have anyone to call except AH who works in London 1.5 hour journey away and would probably be too busy at his “important” job to come...

Haypanky · 05/04/2018 21:49

Ds is 11 months next week. I've got a core group of 4 friends who have similar aged sprogs with similarly rubbish sleep. Which makes me feel a bit better, at least we're in good company! We're on Facebook to each other most nights.

onone85 · 05/04/2018 22:50

Mine is still going/screaming. He's had Half an hours sleep since 7. I feel me and DH are very close to a divorce.. watching in the night garden for the fiftieth thousandth time just to stop him crying. I realise this is probably why he's crying now (he cries, I turn on tv) but I am out of ideas.

Hope all your nights are going smoother than mine right now.

tealandteal · 05/04/2018 22:51

Second wake up of the night here. Thought when I woke up, 'oh 2.45 that's not so bad" When I realised it was 22.45 I could have cried.

tealandteal · 06/04/2018 02:03

Third wake up and just read the thread about the moving loft hatch. I'm never sleeping again!!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 06/04/2018 02:52

Where's that thread @teal? Am intrigued!

Feel your pain about checking the time.. .was convinced it has to be at least 5am for our 4th wake up....it was 2.45. Argh!

tealandteal · 06/04/2018 07:52

It's on AIBU, I'll see if I can figure out a link

BackIntoTheSun · 06/04/2018 14:00

Naptimes are so stressful! She'll be rubbing her eyes but as soon as I try and get her to go for a nap she'll be wide awake and then she'll just spend half an hour whacking her dummy against the cot bars and contorting herself into random positions. Then when I give up and bring her downstairs she'll be grumpy cos she hasn't slept. If she does nap it's for 30 minutes.

If I let her feed to sleep on me in the afternoon she'll sometimes do 90 minutes but then that is teaching her that sleeping on me is the 'norm' when we're trying to get her to sleep in her cot :( Ugh just had to vent

Haypanky · 06/04/2018 15:29

We've cracked and called in a professional sleep consultant. Just don't know what our plan is anymore, and things have gotten worse so 'he'll grow out of it' is no longer an option. We've been having 2 or 3 wake-ups a night, one of which typically lasts 2hrs, plus early rising, plus my daughter sometimes getting up for a wee or with a nightmare. It's also starting to impact on his day now, he's gone from being happy and easy to overtired and fighting naps, which have always been great up till now. If anyone is interested, I can let the group know what she says?

Haypanky · 06/04/2018 15:33

It feels utterly ridiculous to have to do this, and I am hoping it's not a colossal waste of money! Imagine if it doesn't work!!!😱

xxrealistmumxx · 06/04/2018 16:25

I'd love to hear how you get on with the consultant haypanky how old is your LO??

xxrealistmumxx · 06/04/2018 16:26

Sorry, just saw 11 months. Really hope the consultant helps.... Keep us posted!

DiscombobulatedWomble · 06/04/2018 17:17

Yes please let us know!

GinUnicorn · 06/04/2018 18:33

Another one curious about the sleep consultant. Mine was up 8 times last night :/

BackIntoTheSun · 06/04/2018 18:42

I've been looking at sleep consultants too, keep putting it off though. Hope it's helpful for you @haypanky

UtterlyConfused111 · 06/04/2018 20:59

@teal
That is like something out of a horror movie - the thread. It’s making my skin crawl. I’m alone at home with both babies; DH is out for drinks....
@haypanky
I emailed sleep consultant too; they sent me a form to fill in. Haven’t done it yet, because last night she slept!! I hope she goes tonight too... I hope they all do..

onone85 · 06/04/2018 21:40

@Haypanky I'd love to know how you get on! My 11months old sounds exactly the same with the long periods of wakefulness, settles sometimes but then is up screaming a couple of hours later and just won't be comforted. Really hope it works for you.

(Toddles off to google sleep consultant)

Jellybean2017 · 07/04/2018 02:20

@haypanky definitely let us know how it goes. Really hope it helps!

I went out last night and now doing first feed so can't complain. Hope you are all sleeping 😴
