I’ve had similar experiences too when she was a newborn and I was bf all the time. I remember one time waking up with the curled up next to me in bed and no recollection of when I woke up and got her from her cot...

In breaking news! She slept through again till 610 this morning with a giant poo... with a large dream feed at 10pm. I feel like a new person. Not sure she’ll do it again but at least I got a full night of sleep yay
I think the baby rice mixed with the fruit slowed down the transit sufficiently to 6am rather than 3am...
Will try again tonight

BackIntoTheSun · 04/04/2018 11:37

DD slept for an almost 4 hour stretch last night Shock After that she was up for ages til I gave in about 5am and put her in the bed but I still feel like it was a massive win. Being able to have some continuous sleep makes such a difference

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 04/04/2018 20:11

utterly that's great, hope she does the same tonight!

Ds is usually asleep by now, tried bringing him up because he was starting to look tired but now he's rolling round blowing raspberries. Very cute but not at bedtime!

UtterlyConfused111 · 04/04/2018 20:56

Fingers crossed - I’m trying to be positive :-) she’s never done two good nights in a row but I gave her the same food tonight.., let’s see! She and dd1 were blowing raspberries at each other this morning and although it’s exhausting only having 2 years between them, it was absolutely adorable seeing that....

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 04/04/2018 21:57

Good to hear about the better nights! Fingers crossed for a repeat...

Things are still very bad here. I'm now considering a two hour stretch a goddamn luxury...which I'm not getting. It has to get better? Right? I know it will only get worse again but I really need some respite!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 04/04/2018 23:40

Am I the remaining non sleeper here? That's kinda depressing...obvs great you are all getting good nights but it's a lonely place to be Grin

DS won't go into his cot at all tonight. Last attempt totally woke him and now he won't even settle on me. Feeling desperate. Looks like no sleep tonight, I think I'm about to lose my mind. Why why why is he such a shit sleeper??

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 04/04/2018 23:41

He has yet another sodding cold so that's just made it so much worse.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 05/04/2018 03:43

Longest stretch of sleep I've had has been 20 mins. I have gone beyond tangry

Meepmoop · 05/04/2018 04:17

Hope your okay @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs. My DS did a night of 30min wake ups last week and it nearly killed me so I feel your pain. It really is really is awful. Can you have a quiet day tomorrow?

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 05/04/2018 05:41

Thanks @meep. It's been utterly horrible. I've just not really slept. Got a friend coming over but you know what it's like, no such thing as a relaxing day with a baby! I just have to hope tonight isn't the same. I don't think I can do two nights of this.

It does feel like everyone's babies are getting better at sleep whilst mine is just getting worse. Have to remember he's only just 5 months and most of the babies on here are a bit older. I just desperately need things to get better! Even just a bit!

Sorry for the rant....

UtterlyConfused111 · 05/04/2018 06:40

@whoateallthepercypigs
Hope you’re ok. Hang in there. It will get better. Hope you have a better night tonight

FrozenMargarita17 · 05/04/2018 07:15

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs definitely not just you. I tend not to use my phone overnight because it wakes dd up ! And to top off a bad night, she threw herself off the sofa and hurt her nose !

Emberblu · 05/04/2018 07:22

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs ds is the same, got better then worse. This past week has been at least hourly wake ups with on bad night of sleeping on me so no sleep for me. A cold, teething and rolling all combine for awful nights. He's 5 months.

onone85 · 05/04/2018 08:05

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs really sorry to hear it's so hard for you at the minute. I remember my little one being just the same around a similar age but he did get better... then got worse again...and then better again. I really hope things improve soon for you and you manage to get some sleep.

Is there anyone who can take him for a few hours so you can catch up on a few hours sleep?

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 05/04/2018 09:27

Thank you all so much! Sorry to sound so dramatic, really was feeling at the end of my tether with it all!

I know rationally that it will get better. But the past week has just been the same bad night on repeat, last night was a particular low point though. Going to pop out and get some nasal drops as they always seem to help. Got a friend coming over for coffee but chilled day otherwise. No one around to mind him but tbh, he only wants his mummy right now anyway. We'll cope!

I have just eaten half an Easter egg with my breakfast, needed to be done...

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 05/04/2018 09:44

whoateallthepercypigs not, the only one left. I'm still here. My phone has been keeping me awake and waking up Ds possibly so I try not to use it.

Normal awfull night lots of stressful things going on at the moment too. Ds hasn't been napping properly and I think a tooth is coming through. He's so mobile now and is very close to crawling, and he giggles at everything. but still doesn't sleep

GinUnicorn · 05/04/2018 10:08

@whoateallthepercypigs my little one is 6.5 months and am really struggling. It will get better eventually though and you aren't alone x

Jellybean2017 · 05/04/2018 10:14

Still here @whoateallthepercypigs
DS is 8 months. He gets so distracted by my phone I have to just sit in the darkness when I do night feeds, usually end up asleep on the bean bag in his room... We are still getting 2 to 3 wake ups a night but he generally sleeps in his cot in his own room. A few months back I would never believed this would be possible as I could never lay him down asleep without him waking! But something has changed and the situation is generally better! Hang in there. He has a cold now too so tonight may go terribly wrong as he's already on his second nap of the day! I ate a huge quantity of fudge with my breakfast Blush

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 05/04/2018 10:28

Aww love you ladies! I'll remember this when I'm on my self pity party at 3am Grin

DS is going through a lot of change. He's just turned 5 months and is rolling front to back and back to front, and he seems desperate to crawl! Think teething is going on too. And of course the cold. Seems a pretty bad one, poor lad.

DH has told me to bring DS into him tonight from 3am onwards. So that's a life saver to know.

Feeling brighter despite a crushing headache. It does help to get reassurance that this is normal and will pass. You'd think I'd have learnt that with DD but guess the mind blocks out what it wants to!

Madbee · 05/04/2018 10:36

@whoateallthepercypigs nope, I'm definitely still with you! She had a better night last night, but definitely not what I would class as sleeping well (ie awake every 2 hours). It's just so exhausting never being 'off' - it's like being a medic who's permanently on call or something! Hang in there, it has to improve eventually...

@Utterly I keep reading your posts thinking they are mine... and then got to the one about sleeping until 6:30am and realised they weren't Grin Glad things are looking up a bit for you, we are having an almost identical experience with weaning. I was really looking forward to it, but want to back off now since it seems to have changed her digestive system so much! Baby rice and apple was a hit for us last night too.

Meepmoop · 05/04/2018 11:14

I think it was the first night last night that DS wasn't teething or coughing and he slept for 7.5 hours! Was awake for an hour then did another 2.5. Doing my best not to get over excited but I feel like a new person.

In hilarious news was in the bathroom having a shower and when I went to leave the screws came away on the door handle and I couldn't get out! Had to call my mum to rescue me!! Luckily DS was in with me however he did do a poonami when in there

GinUnicorn · 05/04/2018 12:25

Btw same as jellybabies if I have my phone she gets distracted and I'm feeding all night!

Meepmoop · 05/04/2018 15:52

Today is not my day. Bought myself a jumbo packet of marshmallows and the dog ate them off the side. Didn't think they would register as food

Meepmoop · 05/04/2018 15:57

Oh and the cat pooped on the stairs.

UtterlyConfused111 · 05/04/2018 18:56

@meepmoop
Oh no! Poor you!
Hope you had something to replace the marshmallows
