New thread for night (and daytime!) chatter for those awake more than they'd like with a non sleeping baby/child 😊

My DS is six months. First baby likely to be only baby if I don't start getting more sleep! He is a nap and sleep fighter but incredibly cute so I choose to forgive him 😂

She was great in the cinema last time but she was smaller!! It was a bad time to go. 12pm!

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 19:20

Oh goodness me. Dd fell off the bed just before bath time. I'm so tired I'm not quick enough in my reactions. I feel terrible :(

lizzlebizzle33 · 12/03/2018 19:36

Oh no @FrozenMargarita17 I hope she is ok, ds1 did the same at about 7 months, I was overly confident in his sitting abilities 😩

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 20:06

She rolled herself off! @lizzlebizzle33 I absolutely shit myself. She's just so quick!

DiscombobulatedWomble · 12/03/2018 20:20

Good to know it's not just us tealandteal. Crikey meepmoop we're in the middle of leap 4 according to the app, hopefully she's just getting it out the way early, and it's not going to continue until leap 5,not sure I could handle it!

frozen that must have been scary, hope she's OK & the bath calmed her down. I'm dreading DD starting to roll properly, I just know there are going to be crash landings & we've got wooden floors everywhere :l I want to cover everything in bubble wrap!

AMagdalena · 12/03/2018 20:23

DD is taking her sweet time to fall asleep tonight...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 12/03/2018 20:54

@frozen that happened to us with DD! Had her on the bed while I was getting ready. Placed in the middle, had no expectations that she'd able to move that far...i still remember how horrific the sound of the thump as she hit the floor was Shock I felt awful, but she was fine, and no ill effects! These sort of things are going to happen as they become more mobile. The first time is always the worst! yes I did not learn from this

Well, we've had a busy day of playdates, so I'm praying DD sleeps through tonight! As for DS, he seems pretty chilled so fingers crossed for an ok night. He was unsettled last night but part of that I think was due to DD. We'll see...

Good luck all! Oh and welcome newcomers, congratulations, you have found your people Grin this thread (and its previous reincarnations) has been a godsend to me during the sleepless nights...

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 21:10

I felt so bad! She's been able to roll for ages but usually if I give her a toy she just stays where she is. Won't be making that mistake again haha.

Now I'm frightened that she will sleep through because I've damaged her haha.

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 12/03/2018 21:10

utterly me too, this thread has really helped

frozen that sounds really scary, luckily ds hasn't done that yet but he is rolling everywhere so it's probably just a matter of time before we have an accident. Hope they're ok!

Ds has woken up screaming again. Nothing would settle him (same as last night) I tried everything and he just kept screaming. He eventually stopped crying and fell asleep feeding, but starts crying if I tried to put him down. Wondering if it's because of him being ill or if it's completely unrelated. Think it's going to be a long night.

UtterlyConfused111 · 12/03/2018 21:17

@frozen
Exactly the same thing happened to me with DD1. Off the bed just before bathtime; didn’t know she could manage it.
It happens. I too shit myself at the time but she was fine! I couldn’t sleep the whole night...

UtterlyConfused111 · 12/03/2018 21:20

Ok another night starts. She as a bit sniffly during the day and I wonder if she has a sore throat. Given calpol.
It’s been a rubbish day and on top of it all the fucking dog has been sick all over the house. It is AH’s ex’s dog that I seem to have fucking inherited somehow. Last thing I need is a high maintenance sickly dog to take care of too; I never wanted a dog! But such is life. I now have to take care of and walk him too

k567 · 12/03/2018 23:00

11pm and we are on wake up number 4. I want to claw my face off.

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 23:07

She's only woken up once since going to sleep at 7.. hope she hasn't bashed her head too hard. Aghhh

lizzlebizzle33 · 12/03/2018 23:13

Right there with you @k567 uo 4 times in half an hour, very Tangry. I've had to bring him into my bed which I'm fed up of as I can't sleep properly co sleeping.

And now I'm sake again I'm hungry, WIBU to text DH and ask him to bring me toast?

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 23:37

Jinxed it. Came to bed at 11. She's woken 3 times.

FrozenMargarita17 · 12/03/2018 23:38

Toast away @lizzlebizzle33

lizzlebizzle33 · 12/03/2018 23:44

Toast was s delicious but bad choice! The crunching woke ds2 up 🙈 now having to feed him back to sleep. Ah well live and learn. At least I'm not hungry anymore.
I'm definitely trying to put him back in his cot after this feed, I need my bed back.

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 13/03/2018 00:45

It's rubbish a few of us are having bad nights.
Ds is on his 3rd wake up and was screaming again. I snapped at ah and said it's ok you just lie there and do nothing. He was very offended by that and argued that there was nothing he could do. He went quiet after I suggested seeing as he was awake and knew ds wasn't settling he could have held him for a minute, or maybe just asked if I was ok so I didn't feel alone rather than pretending he was sleeping. So tangry.

Meepmoop · 13/03/2018 01:21

DS is constantly coughing himself awake. I've been up since 12 with him crying on and off every 5 mins. I am so tired. Ive given him Nurofen and fed him so not sure what to do. Other than soothing him when he wakes.

I hate coughs!!!

Meepmoop · 13/03/2018 07:18

Anyone else in the stingy eye club this morning?

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/03/2018 09:32

In the stingy eye club here! Also the no sleep headache and tangry club. DS has got his third set of jabs this morning and I've got a smear test this afternoon. What a Tuesday Grin

lizzlebizzle33 · 13/03/2018 10:27

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs that sounds like an awful day, sorry! Get yourself a big bar of chocolate for later on.

Stingy eye, Tangry, headachey club member here too. I think he might be starting teething, he did a scream I've never heard before last night. He was so unsettled, even more than normal if that's even possible.
And still no poop! Day 6 today! 🙈💙💩

AMagdalena · 13/03/2018 10:45

We had a good night. DD only woke up at 6.15am and then did another 2hrs 🙈 I expect this to go to shit anytime now unles someone has swapped my child.
It wasn't that long ago whe we had to c9-sleep all night every night and she'd still wake 4 times.

I am off to see a friend and have a lovely vegan and gluten free chocolate cake in the fridge that I made last night. AH isn't allowed it. Still in bad books for telling me he works hard, so he gets to go to all hokes games (I do nothing and don't deserve even an hr 'me time'). So he's an AH.

AMagdalena · 13/03/2018 10:46

Hokes games= home games

lizzlebizzle33 · 13/03/2018 11:15

AH just asked me if on one if his days off (like I ever get a day off) if I can take out both Ds got the day so he can relax! He gets to relax every fucking evening when I have to go to bed with ds2 at 8pm!!!

Oh my god I am livid. When do I get to relax????
