New thread for night (and daytime!) chatter for those awake more than they'd like with a non sleeping baby/child 😊

My DS is five months. First baby likely to be only baby if I don't start getting more sleep He is a nap and sleep fighter but incredibly cute so I choose to forgive him 😂

Mine is 8 months and still waking every couple of hours. It's wearing a bit thin now...

We had a good few weeks where Dd (10 weeks) would reliably go to sleep easily inbetween feeds but now she's back to her old ways and it takes me like 90 mins to get her to sleep after a feed.

She's sleeping on my chest now, wish me luck with the cot transfer!

Reporting in. DD is protesting against sleep, I'm trying a bit of skin to skin contact with her to see if this will help.

DS currently having really unsettled evening. Not positive bout the night x

DS is 6months on Wednesday, still waking up multiple times in the night but getting back in the cot is much easier

1st wake up here since cot transfer of ds (3 months) at just after 9pm, so not too bad. It usually takes an hour to feed and resettle unless he decides it's playtime 😅 expecting the next feed at 3 but would love a little more sleep! Thanks for the reassurance everyone, it gives me a little hope that it won't last forever

First wake up here. Definite cold. Snorting and coughy. EBLL giving it some 💪.

I expect it to be a crappy night because of the cold. Sigh.

Ds is 4.5 months. Dd is 5 years and a good sleeper.
EBLL has new batteries and going some tonight.

Dh has just woken me up from my dream. I was assistant manager at a subway store and was just cleaning and serving customers when two police officers walk in. They ask to pick up their pre order of 15 subs but we didn't receive the order. I was just trying to get hold of our sister store in the same town to see if they received it in error but no one would answer the phone. Then I woke up so I'll never know what happened!

Being a mother I don't get to finish my lunches, my drinks, my thoughts (my short term memory is now rubbish) and now my dreams!

Percy here, DS is 11 weeks today and DD is 2.6. DD took two years to get her shit sorted on the sleep front.I'm praying DS doesn't follow in her footsteps...

First wake up at 1. For some reason my befuddled brain saw it as 2. Gah.

You make me laugh @hashtagtired! I never get to finish my good dreams either. Although I was once well into a very disturbing dream about Mick Hucknall and was incredibly grateful to DD when she woke me...

I'm so uncomfortable. Sitting up to feed aa DS refuses to lay down as usual. Roll on tomorrow morning when I can pass baby to DH and enjoy some sleep. 😍

Mmm hobnobs. I have eaten a --sharing- bag of maltesers. Having dairy foods again now and no ill effects in DS. So I've got lots of chocolate to catch up on 😊😂

New to the no sleep club, 12 day old DS who is a milk monster and is up every hour demanding a feed..

Just marking my place ... DD1 is 2 years 8 months, has global development delay and wakes up once a night, often inconsolable which results in bed sharing. DD2 is 2 months old, a Velcro baby and a frequent waker. Generally getting about 5 hours broken sleep a night, which is manageable.

Regularly fantasise about hotel bedrooms and time on my own!

Up doing bicycle legs with LO trying to get her to poo she keeps crying and farting away in her cot. DH told me I was stupid but it worked! Soooo tired!

Feed #1 here after 2.5 hrs sleep. My boobs were so ready for a feed! Ds appears very sleepy though so may have to get the pump out otherwise I won’t get back to sleep...
A question guys, what stain remover do you use - think 💩? I sometimes soak ds’ clothes and muslins in vanish but a couple of sleepsuits now look awfully old and faded, I guess because of the bleach (or equivalent) in vanish... so how do you keep your coloureds stuff looking bright? I use Persil non bio for ds’ stuff and Ariel colour for our laundry.

ds is now 3.5 months. how did that happen?
first feed of the night since 10.30 bed. feels great after several really bad weeks. the second half of the night is always worse but I feel i can manage now after getting s decent block of sleep.

on a side note, I rather annoyingly get a really runny and stuffy nose during night feeds and worse of all sneezes which often disturb ds as he is drifting back off to sleep. I have no idea why. I have allergies anyway but haven't been bothered too much by them during the day. it's just when I sit wake up for a feed. anyone else?? or just me...

Hi all, I'm new here.

DD1 is about to be 2 & was an ok sleeper til 4months (gotta love that regression) & pretty much never recovered. These days she sometimes sleeps through, but often wakes just to shout "MUMMMMMEEEEEE", and then goes straight back down again. Leaving me wide awake

Enter DD2 who is 3months. Much calmer child in general & was doing really well sleepwise initially, but I fear it's going downhill....

By comparison a friend of mine has 2 of almost identical ages and "oh gosh the baby just sleeps all the time!" Humph.

Both are asleep but I'm wide awake. What is wrong with me???

First child. Nearly 6 months. Always hated sleeping, currently refuses to sleep in cot from about midnight onwards. Seriously don’t know why and fed up.

OH is snoring away next to me. He genuinely thinks he’s up as much as I am. His parents are visiting tomorrow. Can’t f*ing wait.

Currently struggling to stay awake while breastfeeding 8 day old son. Thought we were making progress yesterday as he slept for two 2.5h stretches during the night and I almost felt like a human being during the day.

However tonight the most sleep I've had was an hour. He falls asleep at the breast, then wakes within 10 minutes of being put in his crib demanding more milk. I'm so tired I could cry and next to me my husband is snoring away.

This is a complete shock to my system as my daughter, now 7, has been an excellent sleeper since birth really. Should have known I'd not be lucky enough to get two good sleepers.

Grrrr I was almost asleep then & DD1 shouted "DADDDDDDEEEEEEE!" (He's fast asleep & didn't even stir)

DD2 will be due another feed in about half an hour so not sure there's any point going to sleep til after that.

My OH had to go for "a little lie down" yesterday evening as he was so tired. Clearly the 7 hours straight sleep he had the night before weren't enough.

To be fair he is very good & sympathetic to my lack of sleep, but sometimes I'm tempted to suggest I wake him every time I'm up & see how he copes. He wouldn't last a day!
