Awake with newborn, anyone else? :)

My little boy is nine days old. He sleeps pretty well during the day but at night just wants to be held and breastfed. He doesn't settle in his moses basket at night (but he will quite often do so during the day)

Anyone else up doing the same?! I'm not keen on the idea of co-sleeping but would be grateful for any advice. Baby sleeps in a gro-snug and we have a dream sheep but I'm guessing this frequent feeding and love of cuddles in the night is probably just par for the course at this early stage? 😊 I am napping during the day so I'm probably averaging about 6 hrs sleep in a 24 hr period.

the baby that can't go more than an hour or so between night feeds has just slept from 10pm until 3am!!! I doubt it will be a regular thing but enjoying the win for now!!

Jellybabie3 · 02/11/2017 05:18

Ds has been awake since 2am. Hes just fighting sleep.....aargh. All the while dh snores Angry

mummarosie1 · 02/11/2017 05:21

Baby that usually sleeps 3 hours between feeds has not settled since 2am feed.. please let this be a one off 😶

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/11/2017 05:25

Hey @Jellybabie3. My DS is also unsettled tonight. We think he’s getting a cold, though now he’s sitting upright he doesn’t sound stuffy at all.
Anyway he just fed and fed on both my boobs in bed and then threw what seemed like the whole of it up. Aaaallll over the bedsheet, duvet cover, pillows and me too. And now the neighbour upstairs is stomping around
Hope your DS settles soon.

Glad you got s good run of sleep @sleepycat13!!

Lovingtyrells · 02/11/2017 06:11

Bad night again for me ! Would NOT be put down at all, feeding a lot and a bit sick too. Was fast asleep after a feed then I tried to put down and sprung awake and fussed for an hour and a half.

Jellybabie3 · 02/11/2017 08:06

Sad didnt go down for more than 45mins all night. Sigh. Awake now. Dh has gone so ds Is in bed with me squirming away for more food

AMagdalena · 02/11/2017 08:11

DD lasted 50 mins in her crib Hmm Shall I laugh or cry?
Seems like 4-month regression has hit is early. She was doing 5-6 hr stretches easily amd now she is such a newborm again
Sad
This child is so getting sleep-trained when she's old enough.

Jellybabie, you must be exhausted

AMagdalena · 02/11/2017 08:12

Sorry about typo's. No glasses on

AMagdalena · 02/11/2017 08:59

OMG, the child has just fallen asleep just laid there...

GinUnicorn · 02/11/2017 14:22

Bad night for us too :(

Jellybabie3 · 02/11/2017 19:19

Ds has just had his bath.....fx for a good night... .anyone get nervous about now??

AMagdalena · 02/11/2017 20:11

Jelly fingers crossed you get some rest!

DD had been fighting sleep so early bath time was enforced!
She'll probably be up and down all night despite my best efforts to get her to nap in day

Lovingtyrells · 02/11/2017 20:37

Wide awake here. I don’t get nervous as it helps a lot to accept the situation.

Jellybean2017 · 02/11/2017 21:36

I read today that a baby of DS age shouldn't be awake for more than two hours at a time 🙈 no wonder he gets over tired. My lovely friend took him out in the pram this afternoon and I had a two hour nap! Amazing after a rubbish night last night. He has been asleep on and off since 4.45pm (after a mega poo!) so goodness knows what impact that will have on tonight. Definitely nervous 😂 At least it's almost the weekend!

GinUnicorn · 03/11/2017 02:11

Jellybean ours sound so similar

GinUnicorn · 03/11/2017 02:11

And she's awake wet and cross

mummarosie1 · 03/11/2017 02:14

Hey guys. Hope your bubbas are being good. I'm just starting the game of 'put baby in crib after feed and see how long it is until she startles herself to tears' lol.

GinUnicorn · 03/11/2017 02:55

Mumsrosie snap! Least fun game ever lol

Frillyhorseyknickers · 03/11/2017 03:45

😴😴 cluster feeding.

Hatstand · 03/11/2017 05:06

Hi everyone, can I join? AMagdalena I think we have been hit with an early 4 month regression too. We've gone from one or two wakeups back to waking every hour/90 minutes.

GinUnicorn · 03/11/2017 05:09

More feeding - so tired :(

HashtagTired · 03/11/2017 05:20

My ds is so bunged and snotty when I lay him down he’s coughing, sneezing, refluxing, gagging and all pretty much at the same time or one after the other. He’s a gooey mess and I just want to blow his nose. Currently having upright cuddles, and he’s soundo so going to attempt to put him down again ...

Lovingtyrells · 03/11/2017 07:19

I didn’t bother trying to put baby in cot last night and had him on my chest and it was much better and I actually had some sleep between feeding. I know your not supposed to but he will NOT go on his back at all and I have been trying for 9 weeks !
