High Needs Baby Support Group (thread IV)

Yoohooo! Over here!

The last thread was filling up so I've started us a sparkling new one.

The original thread was to support those of us with babies fitting the following criteria:

  1. Feeds frequently daytime
  2. Feeds frequently nighttime
  3. Needs to be constantly held
  4. Wont sleep alone
  5. Hates the car seat/pram
  6. Short naps

Some of our babies have grown out of some of those now, but we're still here to support each other through the sleepless nights and noisy car journeys and to offer hugs, chocolate and wine to anyone who's struggling.

So if that list sounds familiar then come and join us as we delight in our active, inquisitive, curious and restless babies or toddlers!

Oh no Joyful! Feel better soon, lady. Hope DS sleeps okay without his Woombie. God, I remember when my DS was younger and sooo flappy at night time. Used to flail himself awake constantly. Was awesome when he started sleeping on his side and front as he stopped flapping!

Night I almost decided that myself this evening, DS so unsettled. He eventually fell asleep holding onto my finger through the cot bars. Bless him. Bloody canines again, I expect :(

Hope y'all have good restful nights.

Excellent. You can always count on some fireworks or a nice car horn when you need it most. I am on 3rd settling since 8. Not looking good for Homeland again. Almost glad it's the last in the series. Hope everyone is recovered from ore-Christmas illness.

Nightmoves · 23/12/2012 21:42

That should say 'pre', obviously and not 'ore''. Sausage fingers strike again.

4th time in since 8. Honestly, I am prepared to sacrifice a lot for my wonderful wee one, but once on a while is it really too much to ask for a couple of hours peace!!!! Why oh why will he not settle???? Poor DH, it must really feel like gaining a child but loosing a wife, if you know what I mean. And I know DS will only be a baby for such a short space of time etc but it really doesn't feel that way tonight, especially as this is 4th night in a row so far of not going more than 90 mins without a wake up. Sorry for the moaning.

Natmu · 24/12/2012 02:45

Moan away Nightmoves. That's what this thread is for! I've been thinking the same for the last few nights. DS2 is refusing to be put down for the evening. He used to happily go to sleep for the first part of the night so it's cuddles all round and no free time for me or DH. I still can't get over how similar all our problems are.

LittleToyMakingMachine · 24/12/2012 08:56

Happy Christmas Eve everyone

How are the poorly babies? Hope they're improving ready for Christmas.

DS's wonderful run of sleep is over. Well we got a week. I'm ready to face no sleep again...
At least this week DP is off so we can take turns to have a lie in.

He's had 2 turns I've had none

Well stop watching NORAD and get on with it Wink
Only joking I've been obsessed with it all day and it is sending me into a totally frenzy of excitement!
Happy birthday to your DS for tomorrow.

Happy birthday for tomorrow little Joyful. Is he feeling any better with the antibiotics?

All quiet here at the moment. Did Christmas dinner today as DH is working tomorrow Xmas Sad. DS1 alternating between Wii and NORAD. He is extremely excited but also extremely tired. Good combination I think! DS2 asleep in my arms after first failed attempt at putting him down. Still got some wrapping to do so praying for free arms soon.

Happy Christmas to everyone Wine

Merry Christmas! Hope the rest of your day was ok.
No sleeping DS here, as we had to stay in my mum's last night due to a huge electric fire in our road resulting in no electricity, heating etc. He did sleep a little bit in his cot but then was very unsettled even in with us.

I was so proud of him yesterday at the family gathering in the morning, as I was holding him and he put his arms out to his uncle. Small steps but big steps to us Smile

Just been baking your vegan brownies Joyful as I've had almost NO treats over Christmas. They're fab! Had a very tiring few days. DS2 not doing sleep day or night time because we were in so many different houses. DS1 absolutely beside himself with excitement and DSD wanting to stay up and do teen chat with me until early hours. I'm not complaining as all these things are lovely (apart from the no sleep) but I do feel a bit thinly spread now Grin. DS2 had marathon sleep in the sling this afternoon (during brownie making) so hopefully we'll have a good night tonight.

How about everyone else?

LittleToyMakingMachine · 27/12/2012 20:45

Mmm brownies.

A sleeping baby in a sling sounds lovely. Smile

Oopla · 28/12/2012 00:24

Hello waves can I join in please?
After 10 months of torturous behaviour I think it's time I admitted that my 3rd baby is in fact high needs. Or a baby terrorist Grin

Have you all had a nice Christmas?
