here

I have an ongoing thread in breast and bottle feeding topic.

To summarise:
ds2 is 11 months. breastfed
never slept
wakes at least 3 times a night. usually more

tried everything possible that i can think of/have read
including:
elizabeth pantley
tracy hogg
shortening night feeds by a minute a night....cant get down past 5 minutes
classical music (yes i am desperate)
more blankets
less blankets
selective ignoring
shushing and patting
co-sleeping

you get the jist
not done CC as I really dont feel emotionally able
it is making me ill - off work sick with this as a contributing factor
help

nutcracker · 05/02/2006 23:21

Fingers are tightly crossed. I'm off to bed now, hope you get a good nights sleep too.

popsycalindisguise · 06/02/2006 09:51

ok....

i went to bed at 9 - ds2 woke briefly at 1 but dh went to cot and patted him for 10 seconds and he went off

woke twice between 2 and 3 put took literally a minute to get him back off

woke at ten to five
so I fed him
back to sleep til 6:30 and up for the day.....

we are getting there...

Just popped over to see how you were getting on...
Sounds like real progress.
Excellent news that ds is settling down to sleep much quicker. Another couple of nights like this and (finges crossed!) you should have it cracked. It seesm to me that the turning point in getting babies to sleep well comes at the point when they learn to settle back down quickly from night wakenings.
Good luck.

busywizzy · 06/02/2006 12:49

Popsy, that is such good news. Hope tonight goes even better for you.

popsycalindisguise · 06/02/2006 20:04

ok he is asleep - later than usual as he had a late nap.....

same plan - aiming for 5:15

Hi Popsy..
U must count urself lucky....!
My son is 10 months old, BF, and has been getting up every hour on the hour since he was 5 months old!!!..he gets up cries, has a 5 min drink and goes to sleep again...I knw it sounds as if he needs me for comfort, his not hungry, so I have tried the dummy, doesn't suck it....keeps crying..
If I leave him to cry, he crys himself (not to sleep) but, AWAKE...
His up for 3 hours after that, so now he is in my bed, and drinkin whenever he gets up!!!...My partner has tried getting him back to sleep, but, he just gets WIDE awake!!
I feel shattered during the day, i am on extended maternity leave from work, I have just accepted it...!

Aloha, can you please give details of this sleep lady pl?..
So, now are you counting your lucky stars??....
P.S I am a 1st time (and probably, because of sleep deprivation, LAST time) mum.....

busywizzy · 08/02/2006 20:30

Popsy, is everything OK? We haven't heard from you for a few days.

popsycalindisguise · 10/02/2006 15:03
