HelenMumsnet · 02/07/2009 12:46

Woolworths.co.uk are offering Mumsnetters family tickets (for four people) to a special, red-carpet showing of Ice Age 3 in 3D this Saturday morning (4 July).

The London showing is full but there are still tickets for Aberdeen, Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Castelford, Didsbury, Edinburgh, Hull, Ipswich, Milton Keynes, Nottingham and Sheffield.

If you'd like one, please email your full name, address and preferred cinema to [email protected]. But get your skates on: tickets are limited and will be offered on a strictly first-come, first-served basis.

So no-one got anything for Edinburgh then. I haven't had an email to say either way. It's nice to have the offer of free tickets but it would also have been nice to get a post or email saying thanks for applying but you didn't get picked.

Oh well, off to the £1 movies for kids then.

YoGabbaGabba · 04/07/2009 09:23

What happened Adam? All sounded so promising yesterday for everyone who applied.......... Oh well, on hold now trying to get Billy Connolly tickets

carriemumsnet · 04/07/2009 10:32

Sorry to those who haven't heard/ didn't get tickets we'll make sure all your feedback gets passed on and mamazon hope you managed to sort something out.

Hope those who did manage to get tickets had a good time, in the words of Cilla, do come back and tell us all about it

Now i may come across as being in a grump because i didn't get ticket - actually it saved me a HUGE trip on public transport with 3 DCs and DS1 missing a party. BUT ... i kind of feel like this has been a kind of ploy to a) spread the word about Woolworths being back online and b) getting people to sign up t their VIF thing in which you may or may not get tickets to a film or possibly a pick n mix.

Hope the people who actually got tickets enjoyed it though

MerlinsBeard · 04/07/2009 10:51

SPM, i have no idea who you are without more clues! (KK5 was a loooong time ago!) DO you live near a fire station? erm .. near a netto? erm ... Did you borrow Doodles camcorder? erm erm ...have you just had a baby?

(hope i haven;t forgotten anyone!)

Saucepanman · 04/07/2009 13:00

Near a fire station is the one you are thinking of I think! Think you used to live round here at some point

[have no reason for keeping my namechange a secret, it's not, it's just not come up yet and am enjoying the guessing!]

RubberAdam · 04/07/2009 13:22

Hope whoever was lucky had a smashing time and really sorry for those who missed out - as someone mentioned I do think a few lurkers/deal hunters/friends of Mumsnetters waded in too looking at the sheer amount of emails I received (and some from blokes ;)!) It was such a last minute opportunity that I thought up with Helen and I had hoped you'd all get a response -- it was looking good for everyone before 6pm on Thursday as I was streaming 30 minute updates of people over but then time, demand and availability and that really worked against everyone. It was the organisers and not Woolies who set a deadline and called an end to things (and in my opinion prematurely). Because of this, I supremely sucked in managing expectations, and I hope you all have wonderful weekends otherwise. I'm going to ask into doing something exclusively again with you all here on mn but with more time and more guarantees

RubberAdam · 04/07/2009 13:28

And by the way, would you consider adopting me as a mumsnetter now? I think I've been converted -- you're all a lovely bunch

tammybear · 04/07/2009 13:28

I just got back from the Milton Keynes one. Was very good! It was in 3D. Very disorganised though. We live in Watford, so was just under an hour to get there. We got there about 8:30am. We hung around as noone turned up til nearer 9, but then people were just stood around. Should have been a place or sign saying where to queue as we ended up being near the end of the queue when we were the first there! Wasn't happy about that. There was a photo opportunity with a big cutout poster thing and you get a print after the showing. We also got a rucksack with lots of toys in it which we thought was very good. Oh and we had a guy doing card tricks, who was actually pretty entertaining.

I have noticed though that the message was posted on other websites and forums, so obviously not everyone there would have been a mumsnetter, which I think is unfair tbh. But unfortunately something that can be really restricted.

But hope everyone else had a fab time too

MIAonline · 04/07/2009 13:38

I think a lot of us saw the offer and didn't waste time posting on here and just got on with emailing Adam

Feel bad saying how great it was when some of you were dissapointed, but also feel bad for not feeding back to Adam so apologies and look away now if you don't want to read it!

Just got back and loved it! The film was really funny and the children's entertainer was great. Got a fridge magnet photo of the family and a fab back pack of goodies. was a lovely treat so thanks MN for organising it and to Adam.

RubberAdam · 04/07/2009 13:46

Thanks for the feedback MIA! Amidst all of this I forgot to think whether the film was actually any good so smiles on that front. Which cinema did you visit?

RubberAdam · 04/07/2009 13:50

tammybear - ace, I had no idea it was rucksack (imagined it was a little bag or something). Did you also get any of the obligotory pic n' mix?!

MIAonline · 04/07/2009 13:50

Ahh now Adam I could tell you, but would have to kill you!

You can only become a MNer if you realise that some us are quite secretive and prefer to keep MN and Real life separate.

I will send you an email though.

coolkat · 04/07/2009 13:56

Hi

Big Thanks to Adam, just returned from Nottingham one, kids loved film, fab bag of goodies, DH now thinks mumsnet is great

Thank you.

nannynick · 04/07/2009 14:01

"and some from blokes" - yes, some of us on Mumsnet are blokes. Not sure on the total number... 27 men was mentioned on the Mumsnet Census message thread.

Personally I didn't apply for tickets... as I'm childless today.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/07/2009 14:09

Just back and saying another BIG Thank You to Adam and MN

The film was brilliant; the funniest Ice Age so far and the £-D was fantastic....I had a few "rollercoaster tummy" moments it is sooo realistic. DS loved it; the rucsac of goodies was totally unexpected (we thought it would be a wee bag with crayons, colouring book and sweetie so were ) and I know that my DD (who we decided was too young at 2) will love the girlie stuff in there.

The girls even managed to take a decent photos of me, so I'm happy

...and DS1 says he will never, ever not never complain about my MN habit ever again

Thank You

LackaDAISYcal · 04/07/2009 14:12

Oh, and I was at the one in Sheffield and there were two women with five girls between them sitting two rows in front of my DS1 and I who I'm sure must have been MNers.
