HelenMumsnet · 02/07/2009 12:46

Woolworths.co.uk are offering Mumsnetters family tickets (for four people) to a special, red-carpet showing of Ice Age 3 in 3D this Saturday morning (4 July).

The London showing is full but there are still tickets for Aberdeen, Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Castelford, Didsbury, Edinburgh, Hull, Ipswich, Milton Keynes, Nottingham and Sheffield.

If you'd like one, please email your full name, address and preferred cinema to [email protected]. But get your skates on: tickets are limited and will be offered on a strictly first-come, first-served basis.

gosh just catching up on the thread and didn't realise so many people have been disappointed

sherby · 04/07/2009 14:30

We went to the Ipswich one and it was great.

BRILLIANT film v funny, magician was funny and a lovely rucksack of toys at the end.

Thank you Adam/Woolworths/Mumsnet

RubberAdam · 04/07/2009 14:48

Great that you all got there early for all the gubbins - not something I could do after Friday night! And pleaee do ping any feedback to me via email too, all appreciated and useful for all the future VIF screenings.

Is there a thread where all the acronyms (DS1/DH) are all explained?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 04/07/2009 14:49

We went to Birmingham, took DS ages to put his glasses on but got there in the end.

No toys though.

tiredemma · 04/07/2009 14:55

Just got back (went shopping to BullRing after)-
Film was fantastic, hilarious- We had such a laugh.

Saw whatshername of This Morning - Alison Hammond.

Cinema wasnt full though- there was about 70 spare seats, so im surprised that Korma didnt get tickets??

It was great- many thanks Adam & woolworths!

Katz · 04/07/2009 14:55

thank you - we went today to Sheffield and it was fab, LackaDAISY that would have been me and hulababy in front with 5 girls! The bags were a huge shock, thank you.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/07/2009 14:59

lol katz....you had MN written all over you

LackaDAISYcal · 04/07/2009 15:03

oh and my DS was the boy who was feeling his way coming up the steps in the dark with the glasses on just as the film was starting.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 04/07/2009 15:31

Not telling you which one we went to but I DEFINITELY know someone on this list was there!

Had a brilliant time and the rucksack filled with little toys was wonderful. I too was expecting a plastic bag with some nasty sweets and a tiny colouring book.

The kids were utterly made up about the unexpected treat so thanks Woolies and MN.

tiredemma · 04/07/2009 15:36

Lupus- how do you know???? (Intruiged!!)

tiredemma · 04/07/2009 15:42

DP was chatting to some bloke (who had his kids with him) and I heard him say
"did you win the competition on mumsdotnetdotcom. The bloke looked at DP as if he was mental.

fatzak · 04/07/2009 15:46

A big thank you here as well Adam. We had a great time at Sheffield and the goody bag were fab! Spent all my time MN spotting - recognised Hulababy from a previous do and now know who Katz is

We had the 2 DSes( in green and blue t- shirts!) who seemed to spend most of time going to the loo! I wondered if the family in front of us with the two DSes in the same t shirts were MN!!

lisad123 · 04/07/2009 15:49

Lupus was it meee?

We went to MK one, and was a little naffed, when I got there to find my name not down, even though I was one of the first. Lucky a nice man sorted us out, but tbh to be told to arrive at 9am for fun and stuff and fine 1 magician fwho was doing a few trick for a few choosen ones, and a lady with digital camera for photo's was a shame. DD2 got very bored of waiting around for the 45mins tbh.

BUT

The film was fabbby and the bag of goodies after really really nice.

sorry for those that didnt get to come, which was a real shame as loads of spaces at MK left.

Libra · 04/07/2009 16:25

Just got back from the Aberdeen one.

Many thanks Adam - particularly for the big rucksack full of toys! Like everyone else I was expecting a plastic bag with a few sweets in.

There were about 20 families at the Aberdeen one - it was about half full - so I suspecting that the numbers were limited by the need to limit the rucksacks? Certainly they had run out of rucksacks by the time DS1 returned from the toilet.

Sorry to everyone who missed the opportunity - hope to meet up with some of the Aberdeen contingent this Thursday.

nannynick · 04/07/2009 16:31

Adam you can find the list here.

chimchar · 04/07/2009 16:33

i went to the cardiff one....was fab!

thanks so much.

again though, the cinema was only about a third full i reckon....gutted for those who didn't get tickets.

TeaOneSugar · 04/07/2009 16:39

I didn't even get a reply, what a shame if there were empty seats.

muggglewump · 04/07/2009 16:47

We're just back from Edinburgh.
Thank you MN/Adam/Woolies, we had a great time.
DD loved it and the goody bag is very generous and totaly unexpected.
I'd thought a few sweeties and a plastic whistle or some such.

Film was great, really funny and I loved the baby T-Rex's, I want one!

The magician was entertaining and all the kids liked the lollies, shame he didn't hand over the £100 note though!

Ooh, and the pic of us is quite good too, at least I don't hate it which I do with most photos.

All in all we had a great (but long, up at 4.45am)day and we're knackered but happy.

If any other MNetters were there, I was the one with the blonde 7yr old DD who sat with her on the floor watching the magician.

saintmaybe · 04/07/2009 16:49

We went to Brighton, thanks Adam!

Did of course spend the whole time wondering who the mnetters were

A woman asking for feedback at the end said lots of people there had come via mn

There did seem to be a lot of nice careful parenting going on!

suwoo · 04/07/2009 16:52

We really enjoyed the Didsbury one, thank you Adam. The rucksack was great- very generous. We just had a magician too and a photographer (we all looked hideous on the photo but never mind).

The very sad thing was the screen was way more than half empty, I would say only 1/4 full- if that, so a real shame more people couldn't get tickets.

muggglewump · 04/07/2009 16:58

Oh yes, there were emothy seats at Edinbut=rgh too. I was suprised really at how few folk were there, I had expected it to be packed but it wasn't at all.

Saying that, they had us down as four people, when there were only ever two of us.
That may have been my mistake as I just assumed you got a ticket/place that was for up to four people, I didn't realise you had to specify how many.
Apologies if anyone lost out because of that.

muggglewump · 04/07/2009 17:00

Emothy?
That would be empty!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 04/07/2009 17:03

I know I didnt get seats, but still want to thank you mumsnet and Adam for the offer and work that goes into things like this. Maybe next time for me!

KingCanuteIAm · 04/07/2009 17:10

I emailed very early on (before replies hit the thread I think) and got tickets, the cinema I went to was about 1/3rd full which was a shame but there were not enough rucksacks to go round which was worse (for those who missed out, I managed to get one as I was out of the film fast - I hate sitting down for ages!)

In terms of the entertainment, a photographer, a chap with some cards (who was very good) and that was all, no sign of games station or anything.

In terms of feedback, the cinema, film, card sharp and goody bag were all fantastic. The entertainment beforehand was minimal, there was certainly no need to arrive early really - oh - and the doors did not open until 15 minutes after they should have!

All in all we all had a fantastic time and I am very glad we went, thank you very much Adam!
