apart from emailing MNHQ?

OP posts:
Rhubarb · 08/06/2009 21:51

Can I just say that I have been accused on that thread of being a part of this one. If you have concerns can you please just contact MNHQ? It's not fair that others get the abuse hurled at them.

Threads like this don't solve anything. All it does is allow people to speculate. MNHQ do actually investigate if you ask them to. So please, just leave it at that.

JackBauer · 08/06/2009 21:59

junglist, I will be watching out for your new thread
Bastard trolls.

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:00

TBF rhubarb, we are not actually discussing that poster, nor even mentioning her name, we are talking about cvq, and hoping it is not the same one.

should the OP come back to her thread, hopefully she won;t happen upon this one, and if she types her posting name in, she won;t be directed to anything bar the thread she is on.

I have emailed MNHQ tho, as I am pretty sure it sounds like her, altho I am very much prepared to stand up and say sorry if I am worng.

I was not going over to the thread tho to say anything, as the amazing support in there is fantastic if anyone else who is in a similar situation comes across it.

Rhubarb · 08/06/2009 22:07

Well myself and poopscoop have been blasted by dittany on that thread and she has alluded to this one. I didn't know about this, and I voiced concerns about her story too, asking those contacting her to be cautious. Now I'm afraid the thread has turned into a tirade against those who shout troll, which I did not.

So please do be aware that when you start one of these threads, other Mumsnetters are not as discreet and may link to it, and yet others may be blamed and even flamed, when asking for caution.

MerlinsBeard · 08/06/2009 22:09

Rhubarb, your posts were very balanced and i don't think you need to worry about any backlash from this at all.

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:12

well, point taken.

your posts were very balanced tho, MoM, is right.

Lizzylou · 08/06/2009 22:12

Dittany alluded to MSN, Rhubs, not this thread.
I agree, if the OP is genuine then this thread is not good. But there are a lot of people supporting her if she is genuine.

Rhubarb · 08/06/2009 22:14

Thanks, but she was replying to my posts. However I do agree with what you are all saying, but I still think that Mumsnet needs to investigate and I do get a little uncomfy about it being discussed in the meantime, just in case.

GypsyMoth · 08/06/2009 22:14

Cvq.........I just can't remember this poster!!!

I had doubts a bit when the happy ending came, but linked it to a more recent, very disgruntled posted who no longer posts. Likely I'm wrong, but it crossed my mind.

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:17

tiffany, that was what we shortened her name to.

she was 'CryingQuietly', then 'CopingQuietly', then 'CopingVeryQuietly', with various other names too.

GypsyMoth · 08/06/2009 22:19

Vaguely remember, not much about her posting though. Must be mostly before my time.

SolidGoldBrass · 08/06/2009 22:26

I remember being about cvq for quite a while before she got outed: while I know some people have awful lives and a lot of bad stuff to deal with, her story seemed so excessive...

BitOfFun · 08/06/2009 22:28

(Or as we prefer to call her, FallingApartDramatically, Psycho )

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:30

oh yeah SGB, and if she had no attention for ooh, a day or so, she would pop up with someting else dramatic and tragic, and would just do a and , and we would all come running (well, me, being the foolish gullable one)!

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:31

yes BoF

ilovemydogandmrobama · 08/06/2009 22:41

Stupid question: Is gmail the same as googlemail? Reason I ask is that I have a googlemail account.

Am feeling tragic though -- no, not a troll. Just on antibiotics for my back molar

psychomum5 · 08/06/2009 22:44

yup, gmail and googlemail is the same, just easier to type when you are lazy

FabulousBakerGirl · 09/06/2009 08:10

Just to let you know that MNHQ have answered me and they are monitoring it. Their philosopy is it is better for some people to look a fool than to pounce on someone in genuine need.

To the poster who asked why people do this, my feeling is it could be to get things. Lots of people offered support and have offered goods in the past if not on this thread.

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 09/06/2009 08:56

at least they have the 'heads up' FBG, especially if it does turn out to be cvq.

if not, then the poster can come and get decent support, if they feel strong enough.

TrillianAstra · 09/06/2009 09:02

Googlemail is what gmail is called in the UK - there's some issue with someone else having registered the name 'gmail' in the UK. So peopel in the rest of the world (or like me who got one quite a while ago) have @gmail.com, but if you signed up now it would be @googlemail.com. I think.

MerlinsBeard · 09/06/2009 10:32

oh the infamous monitoring it line

NationalFlight · 09/06/2009 10:46

Please can someone help me out. I've been accused of something reprehensible on the other thread and just want to make sure nobody can see a post I supposedly made, which I am certain I didn't, apparently linking to a wiki page about trolls, 'so that everyone would know what was going on'.

I'm quite upset and have searched in a rather shaken manner for my own posts but can't find it. I don't remember doing it. It's not there is it?
