What do you do when you think someone is taking the piss

apart from emailing MNHQ?

I think MNHQ need to think about how they deal with this. It doesn't seem that anything has been done or achieved and we still don't know who she is.

We don't need to know who, exactly - obviously if a regular she might not want to be publicly announced, but knowing whether she is as she said a reg would help me feel I could believe it. iyswim

A bit like anonymous bidding on ebay. You can click on the bidder's ID and be told how many bids they have placed in certain categories, with certain sellers etc without it revealing who they are.

It helps people feel confident about the transparency of the process without giving away anything private. So if someone came along and said yes, this poster has posted in several different topics offering advice and asking about other stuff and so on, and joined in 2006, for instance, and has 342 posts, we would all say 'Oh, that's fine then, she was real, we can relax'.

Does that make sense? And if they said 'she joined last week and has no other posts to her name' we would all go 'Oh, right. Hmm.'

MerlinsBeard · 11/06/2009 18:59

If she is a reg ten she will know of CVQ.

FabulousBakerGirl · 11/06/2009 19:06

But it wouldn't do if someone started off okay and then turned nasty/trolly etc.

OP posts:
NationalFlight · 11/06/2009 19:09

But I don't think most people do...if they are as screwed up as CVQ was, they'd have a job posing as normal I think for any sustained length of time. It might be a sick way to operate but I do think it's a compulsion, iyswim, not necessarily something the poster has much control over, a bit like gambling or drinking.

TotalChaos · 11/06/2009 19:13

would be amazed if MNHQ would divulge whether SP is a regular poster, on other occasions where posters have posted concerning stuff HQ wouldn't say if the posters were posting under other names.

NationalFlight · 11/06/2009 19:17

I'm sure they did say once that it was someone we 'knew'...maybe I am mistaken.

But the fact they have said there is no evidence to say she is not a troll, leads me to think she is not someone instantly recognisable.

Oh I hate this speculating, I wish I could just know. Better walk away I think.

NationalFlight · 11/06/2009 19:17

I mean in the past, about someone else causing speculation.

BitOfFun · 11/06/2009 19:20

I would love it if just once Justine would come on a thread and say "Big fat hairy bollocks", and then that would be an end to it...

psychomum5 · 11/06/2009 19:24

would just be nice for them to say...

"this person is a regular, she wants some privacy, we are giving it to her."

that would be all we needed.

and then we can get back to CvQ

or not.....

Lulumama · 11/06/2009 19:25

i do agree with flight.

the whole spree of deletions actually makes teh whole issue worse i think

FabulousBakerGirl · 11/06/2009 19:28

And if this person has posted for her own strange reasons she will be loving the drama of them all.
