10/10 threads (les leeks c'est chic etc) - would you like your own topic in health?

Because it's funny innit? Or are you content in general health?

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 13:54

Is it to make things tidier? Or easier?

I don't see what difference it makes otherwise, or what there is to think about even.

I think it should be AIBU personally.

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 14:51

AIBU to be pissed off because, despite eating copious amounts of F&V and doing execise, I am bloody ill!??

Yeah, can't we just have a free MN Lentil-weaver bag each, in honour of our brillinat thread titles and general longevity? And general lack of rucks?

Or stickers. I'd settle for stickers.

JustineMumsnet · 25/03/2009 14:55

Who is this "Leader" you all speak of - can we meet over smoothies?

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 15:04

Here she is. nice melons

ahundredtimes · 25/03/2009 15:09

Nooooo, it's not as easy as that I'm afraid. There are security measures, vetting, police have to be involved, curtains closed, smoothies tasted by our resident smoothie taster, the Leader will only appear in silhouette, and her voice will be modified, she will only speak through a large mango to keep her identity safe.

But other than that, sure, no problem.

Can you answer why you want to give a thread it's own topic? Is it a housekeeping thing?

JustineMumsnet · 25/03/2009 17:06

It's because they're funny, I suppose - so it tickles us to think of being able to open the topic and see all the thread titles listed together... and we thought it might be nicer for you too (we're nice like that). But obviously if your Leader thinks better, then we will slink off and hide behind some melons.

Oooo, I love wasabi peas.

As for own topic - I dunno - would people be able to find us? I mean, would it be obvious that we are a health group, existing purely to support people in eating more F&V & doing exercise.

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 17:15

But yes, an award. A big chocolate cake would do, I think.

Please.

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 17:20

I was in a pub the another night and they had wasabi peas on the counter - I was going to try some but the barman said ''urrgh no, you don't wanna, really. They're minging!'
So I chickened out. [wimp] What do they taste like?

I guess Yorks isn't ready for such sophistication...

I do see what you mean, if you search 10/10 and get a full list of thread titles, it is ruddy amusing.

But I think I like it better being part of general health.

Do feel free to come and tell us how witty and amusing we are on a regular basis, though!

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 17:23

Wasabi peas taste a bit sweet as soon as you crunch them, but not pea-like, then you get hit by the wasabi and it feels like your head is on fire. I do agree though, Yorkshire might not be quite the place for such exotic snacks.

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 17:28

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I do like the idea of having our own topic.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 18:25

Justine it is ME
I am the leader

i think we should have the FrannyandZooey topic
that would be good
or "10 / 10 hosted by FrannyandZooey"

no?

morningpaper · 25/03/2009 18:27

Should it go under Health or under the errm Clubs topic?

TigerFeet · 25/03/2009 18:30

I'm not even sure you can buy wasabi peas in Lincolnshire

A topic for Fran. Yes. "FrannyandZooey rules here with a mango of iron"

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 18:43

we are not a club
oh no
not like those other clubs anyway

i must admit i am leaning towards politely declining
i dunno
i just think it's good as it is, and the titles are funny, but maybe they are funny because there's only one every week or so
if you had a whole long list of them it might start to look rather

desperate and juvenile

TigerFeet · 25/03/2009 18:46

nononononono we are not a club. Clubs meet in village halls and discuss things.

Oh.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 18:47

ha!

SuperBunny · 25/03/2009 18:48

Def not a club. That makes us seem cliquey and we really are not. We have lurkers and vistors galore.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2009 18:54

can we have special guests? like famous fruit and vegetable eaters?
justine if we get our own topic can we have a BUDGET? i mean can we claim expenses and stuff

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 19:21

oh dear lord! Have people been complaining about us? Do they want to move us into a special section where they pretend we do not exist?
[paranoid]

Are we the MN equivalent of Mad Old Aunties who smell of wee but everyone puts up with becuase they know we will die soon and we are mostly harmless?

pointydog · 25/03/2009 19:31

could there be a slot on amusingly shaped fruit and veg? I bet someone has asked that already. Such a witty idea.

mollyroger · 25/03/2009 19:34

why yes, Pointy. I had a pea once. it looked just like a tiny wee bollock....

A green one.

quite like this!

JustineMumsnet · 25/03/2009 19:35

This is all very surreal - we spend our whole time telling folks why they can't have their own topic and you 10/10 people will only have one if it includes an expense account .

OP posts:
pointydog · 25/03/2009 19:36

lol molly

Oh, it would be so so funny
