This Morning want a couple of Mumsnetters to appear with Carrie and Justine next week... anyone fancy it?

ITV's This Morning programme have invited me and Justine on to talk about the Toddlers book and want to also invite a couple of Mumsnetters to talk about how they got into Mumsnet and what Mumsnet means to them etc.

The date will probably be 4th or 5th Feb, they will need us between 9.30 and 12 and are prepared to pay travel expenses.

Anyone out there interested in snuggling up on the sofa? If you are, please put a bit of blurb about yourself here - how many children you have/how old, how you got into Mumsnet and what it means to you etc - so This Morning can decide who they might fancy inviting. If you do volunteer we may have to pass your email details on to This Morning, in case they want to chat to you, so shout now if you'd rather we didn't do that.

Thanks,

MNHQ

Bad Mother's Club. [researchers hurriedly go over there to look for more decent individuals]
Sorry follderol. You will be fondly missed for that wonderful religion/biscuits thread in Classics [even though you didn't join in]

pagwatch · 03/02/2009 17:52

Actually don't go Follderoll. You can ignore the barnies - it is possible.

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 17:54

I want to go.

i want to go and wear clothes in challenging colour combinations and when asked a question not say anything at all but mime my responses. Am I too late?

ah yes, you are indirectly responsible for the Opus Dei Parkin, quite an achievement

twinset - their equivalent of active conversations is latest discussions and their equivalent of talk is called retell therapy. and noone really bothers with the thread topics much.

ruty · 03/02/2009 17:57

neither. Just had a look at the BMC homepage. they have Jo Brand modelling a back pack with they words 'I am an Old Bag'
I want to join.

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2009 17:57

I could not make head nor tale of it, could not even find a discussion forum. Came creeping back here after 8 minutes

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 17:58

OMG I really am too late, I see this now.

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2009 17:59

Have clicked on retell therapy and now feel quite thick.

lowrib · 03/02/2009 18:11

So does anyone know when this is this going to be on TV?

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/02/2009 18:19

Sorry - I know some people have been cross/hurt/upset on this thread, but PMSL at the idea of This Morning trying to contain this!

Winehouse · 03/02/2009 18:22

Right then, Justabout. I'll take the compliment and get my coat.

Oooerr! Every time I sit on the sofa I fall asleep and miss Excitement.
Has my name been published on MN?
Thing is, I joined DOM for obvious reasons, I thought it was all about DOM, which is a hobby of mine. TBH, I'm so confused by it, it could actually be about dom.
Tell me pag, don't suppose Penis Dog has his own FB group?

Rhubarb · 03/02/2009 19:56

How can dom be a hobby? Do you go "domming"?

Oh and the 'twat' has apologised folks.

I think they'll pick someone who has nothing to say about Mouldies. Someone who is the least offensive poster, who mainly goes on the breastfeeding threads or something.

I'll bet the 2 Mumsnetters are no-one you'll have heard of unless you are due in April or summat.

oooerrrmissus · 03/02/2009 20:06

Rhub, I frequently go domming. It's much warmer than loitering around in a layby on the A3.
I'm not aerated about the DOM thing.
I'd like to see one of the Mumsnetters who run the Bar go on. They have some great dos in there, it's a really safe non-judgey place to be of an evening, and I never see them getting involved in the mudslinging.

Tortington · 04/02/2009 01:22

i hear that you have to wait until its dark to go domming

Lemontart · 04/02/2009 11:37

I half wonder if This Morning have postponed it thanks to reading this thread... can see the producer talking to the floor manager now:

"ok, we are going to need at least 6 on site trained bodyguards able to physically restrain potentially lethal and psychotic women..2 netters (Justine seems pretty ok) so that makes for 3 each. Hmmm Let?s postpone this a week while we revisit the original staffing budget.."

pagwatch · 04/02/2009 11:51

I think they may delay while they word the disclaimer before hand and ensure thatthe bleep machine is working

Hi All

Just a quick update - This Morning have now said they want a couple of Mumsnetters who have contributed to the book (rather than who have a good Mumsnet tale to tel) so they're doing a trawl of volunteers from here who also appear in the book and hopefully we might get somewhere next week! Apologies for the initial false information, and of course if you've already rifled through the book, spotted your name AND would like to go on This Morning shout now.

They will probably want to talk to a few folks on the phone before deciding who they want.

Sorry again for any confusion on this, we only managed to speak with them directly yesterday.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far

MNHQ
