do you mean like the bored school kids trolling with ridiculous stories?

or the regular Mners who have "ishoos" and come on here attention seeking? Like the " i am pg guess who i am ? " threads

expatinscotland · 09/08/2008 21:10

No, I don't mean trolls in the sense that they start out trolls.

It's just something that's come up fairly recently, particularly on money threads.

Where you just think, 'Yeah, right.' Something just doesn't ring true about it. Not sure why.

KristinaM · 09/08/2008 21:18

not sure....

I get a bit POed at people trolling about things like bereavement, TTC or adoption. Y'know, where Mners spend ages trying to help soemone who they think is upset or has been through a difficult situation but is just " having a laugh". Then i think that soemone must in fact be quite troubled to make up stuff like that

i LOVE the obviously trolling but witty threads like the hamster in the soup one

themoon66 · 09/08/2008 21:20

I'm not really made of cheese and no man lives within me

AnotherFineMess · 09/08/2008 21:28

I started off being a bit cagey on here & sometimes posted a couple of red herrings in case anyone in RL spotted me whingeing about my family etc.

I still namechange quite a lot because I cannot resist telling friends about MN and practically pressgang them into having a look. I then have paranoid episodes where I imagine them discovering who I am and searching my posts... then cringe at what I've written about ladybits or whatever and imagine them telling their DHs...then cringe at myself for being so self-important to think that anyone would ever do that...

So yes, I sometimes tell the odd fib. Not for delusions of grandeur reasons, just for preserving anonymity.

Quattrocento · 09/08/2008 21:33

Presumably your post meant that someone called Titania invented some children. How odd. Like inventing piles.

expatinscotland · 09/08/2008 21:35

Those two posters invented pregnancies (and possibly number of children in the former's case) and a bunch of other stuff.

But didn't start out as trolls IYKWIM.

IllegallyBrunette · 09/08/2008 21:35

What were you saying about Titania inventing children ??

I can't scroll down threade for some reason.

IllegallyBrunette · 09/08/2008 21:37

She didn't invent any children by the way, just so you know.

expatinscotland · 09/08/2008 21:37

the pregnancy was appreantly invented, IB, some felt the number of children were.

not sure about that.

but deffo sure about falling down stairs, being unconcious for 20 minutes and then posting on here instead of going to hospital.

KristinaM · 09/08/2008 21:37

dont you think that anyone inventing pg must be a bit troubled? unless they are a bored teenager having a laff? i mean its not funny is it? or witty?

expatinscotland · 09/08/2008 21:38

i always thought she was messed up and needed help.

same with the Tamba thing.

IllegallyBrunette · 09/08/2008 21:38

She didn't invent a pregnancy. I know exactly how many children she has too and she never lied about that either.

expatinscotland · 09/08/2008 21:41

but c'mon, IB, that whole stair thing didn't make you go ?

admittedly i never posted on many of those threads because a lot of them had an element of , sadly.

IllegallyBrunette · 09/08/2008 21:42

Have to say I don't remember the stair thing tbh, but I do know she never lied about being pregnant or how many kids she had.

Tamba I agree was messed up, but i don't think the two are comparable.

nappyaddict · 09/08/2008 21:54

So was Tamba not really pregnant? I thought some people on here used to be in contact with her and confirmed that she was?

tiredemma · 09/08/2008 22:08

Hmm yes, the whole Tamba episode. That seems like ages ago now.

twinsetandpearls · 09/08/2008 22:18

There threads make me paranoid. I have changed my mind recently about having children although I suspect I have changed my mind secure in the knowledge it can't happen. The name Titania just reminds me of rugs.

catinthehat · 09/08/2008 22:45

Assume you mean about having more children ie not going to change your mind about any you may already have?

catinthehat · 09/08/2008 22:47

(I change my mind frequently about my own, but haven't worked out what to do with them yet other than keep them. Need a Wood Green Animal Shelter for Children)

Quattrocento · 09/08/2008 22:49

Sometimes I wish my children were just the product of my imagination though ... and my job come to that ... Only on bad days, of course.

PastYourBedtime · 09/08/2008 22:50

I knew Tamba in RL, she was working as an escort and imo used mn to escape a bit. A lot of what she said was true (unfortunately ) and she was indeed pregnant with CK's child. I met them both and knew them socially. I know that after she left MN she also left him, she terminated the pg and moved away. She was having counselling and had enrolled at college but I haven't heard from her in a long time now.
I saw her sister recently who told me that she (Tamba) is divorced and happy with her boys.

nappyaddict · 10/08/2008 08:42

that she felt she had to have a termination though.
