God no, I don't care if someone is lying.
I am a much nastier person in rl than on mn, is that lying?

JT · 07/08/2008 13:17

I find sitting more comfortable

JT · 07/08/2008 13:17

I don't have a job
I rarely shop for clothes
I am 28

nailpolish · 07/08/2008 13:18

ther are prob loads yes who say "oh i have those boots in 4 differnt colours" thats a white lie so doesnt matter

well i suppose there was JF

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 07/08/2008 13:18

I think a lot of people lie to preserve their anonymity.

I, however, am definitely a cat.

MascaraOHara · 07/08/2008 13:19

no but I'm going to watch with interests as wait for my new lakeland tins to be delivered lol

I caught my friend lying to me on text the other day.. I haven't mentioned it to her.. because I don't care enough lol

scatterbrain · 07/08/2008 13:19

I agree Cod !

That JudgeFlounce lied about her job !

I have spotted a few people contradict themselves - but I don't take it all very seriously anyway ! People lie all the time in RL don't they ? I don't (aprt from to be polite !! "No of course your bum doesn't look big etc"") but a lot of people do !

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2008 13:19

lol

why would you

wannaBe · 07/08/2008 13:20

no but have on other sites.

In order to be a good lier you have to have a good memory.

But really the only way to be sure someone is lying is if they slip up.

Dragonbutter · 07/08/2008 13:20

why lie?

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2008 13:21

well if you were normal [ish] rather than troll central

and whats the point

cornsilk · 07/08/2008 13:21

oooh I have changed jobs since July - does that count as lying???? I don't think anyone would lie about my job previous or present anyway.

GrapefruitMoon · 07/08/2008 13:21

I actually think most people are far too honest and open about themselves on MN. I often think that I know so many tiny details about some Mnetters that I would know them if I met and talked to them in RL....

scatterbrain · 07/08/2008 13:21

I find in RL people lie to avoid upsetting people - so if asked to play they will say "O sorry little X has swiming that day - sorry !" then you see them in Tesco !

I'd rather people just said - I don't think little X really likes your y tbh !! But I am not brave enough to do that either !

ThePettyandIllinformedGoat · 07/08/2008 13:22

do you take notes? i can barely remember my own login name never mind anyone else.

ThePettyandIllinformedGoat · 07/08/2008 13:23

sometimes i lie - i don't really wear diamond tiaras for example.

llareggub · 07/08/2008 13:26

zippi, it'll be fine, won't it?!

Oliveoil · 07/08/2008 13:26

I don't think I have caught anyone out lying, tbh I barely remember who has kids and of what sex and number (how are your 4 girls Cod?)

I don't lie in RL though as I am crap at it, start stuttering and looking at the ceiling

may as well have a neon sign flashing LIAR

Walnutshell · 07/08/2008 13:27

i don't really contain a walnut

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2008 13:27

yes it will i am walking so have to leave in a minute actually

filthymindedvixen · 07/08/2008 13:28

ok, ok, you got me bang to rights. I don't really have 50 per cent shares in a diamond mine . Humph. Spoilsports....
