oops just realised i never finished what i was writing before i clicked post. was gonna say there were a few bizarre/suspect threads around last week. it must be the summer holidays!! that MIL/cat one was very suspect and the one about the DH crying was quite bizarre and then there was the benefits one purely because i'm sure people start those just for a reaction.

On another parenting website where everyone is hun xxx was someone who said she'd been held hostage by a friend of the family, raped, became pg and had gone on to have the child. I'm not sure how she was busted but she also posted a picture of the expensive Elizabethan house she supposedly lived in.

Why would anyone invent such a horrible experience?

I sometimes change DCs ages so that I am not recognised. But then, I namechange every month or so, so there is little chance of that.

I'm too lazy and often (when not pregnant) drink too much to be arsed lying.

Besides, why would someone lie about being 50% grey, having sun damage freckles, being skint and having poor taste in shoes?

A lot of people know my real name, and I've met people on here IRL - so they know I really do a) dye my hair b) have uneven skin tone c) my kids are named very Gaelic names.

Someone once asked me why I was posting about my dd when my profile page says I have no children. I am to thick to work out how to do my profile page so have no idea why it says I have no children, nor do I now how to (or have any desire to find out) change it.

I have read some posts - particularly recent ones - from people that make me go .

I think some people make up a job, income, lifestyle, kids, whatever.

Not sure why, but if I get a feeling about someone I usually just avoid them.

Gosh do you really think that Expat? I'll believe (at a pinch) that people will make up jobs to aggrandize themselves but who on earth would make up children?
