This is getting ridiculous now. Post after post from some weirdo on various threads. Can you PLEASE put some decent moderation in place at night?

You need to post on night watch.

So juvenile but schools go back soon

MyBeloved · 16/08/2026 00:30

Have you reported to nightwatch?

Have you reported to nightwatch?

I’ve reported them around 10 times now.

So glad you started this! I was told off for my ‘personal attacks’ on the other thread so I was determined not to start another one.

But I think the staff are super and like, really switched on, and this site is totally appropriate for all the women who come here looking for support and kindness. I can genuinely say I’ve not seen another site quite like this one 😐.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 16/08/2026 00:34

When reporting to Night Watch, please remember they’re not mods, they’re not paid, and they have no obligation to sit and engage, if they want to sit in the garden or go shopping or whatever is an appropriate August activity in Australia, then they’re probably doing that. I know I would be!

Do you really think children start trolling parenting websites as soon as school breaks up??

Surely they’d be on Insta, X or something far cooler than Mumsnet?

Unless you’re implying the troll is a teacher? Now that really would be controversial 🤭

OtterlyAstounding · 16/08/2026 00:37

This is getting stupid. It's an embarrassment to Mumsnet, and just not good enough. They need a paid moderator at night, yesterday.

If the troll decided to post more disturbing content instead of just childish screeds, then they could cause real harm to posters. As it is, they're a fucking nuisance, but they are making a point in their own gross way. When it's afterhours in the UK, this site is not safe for use.

It’s as if none of us pointed this out already. Baffling.

And I know they read it because they came up with a list of reasons why they couldn’t do this or that.

Lovely mumsnet staff though. Super people.

And yet it always seems to happen the.most during school holidays. People feed them by posting threads, so they keep coming
I understand like, it is annoying.

OneFineDay22 · 16/08/2026 00:42

Makes me not want to click on any threads that say active! This one I thought might be safe, for now!

Multiple people have reported. Now the weirdo is posting on the Nightwatch threads.

Yeah. It's not alright. Sort it out Mumsnet. And respond to the complaints.

JaneJeffer · 16/08/2026 00:43

As if school children would be so childish 😂

gamerchick · 16/08/2026 00:43

And Mumsnet isn't moderated. I don't understand why people keep asking for more. Or do you mean paid staff to take care of reports.

Paid staff with the power to do whatever needs doing, to see reports, to ban/whatever.

The Night Watch see none of the reports at all.

"People feed them by posting threads" I mean, what?! So everyone should be quiet so we don't wake the Trolls? 😂

What do you mean it isn't moderated? Of course it is. It just isn't overnight.

It does, you’re definitely right there.

Trolling has always increased as soon as the kids break up. It’s something I’ve always noticed in the 15 years I’ve been posting here.

But I think it’s MNetters staying up later to do it rather than kids.

Vodkamartini3olives · 16/08/2026 00:47

It's the Internet, there's lots of weird shit. Just ignore it 🤷

🤣 wasn’t there a film where everyone had to be silent or the monster would get them? I saw a clip on Gogglebox

Makes sense. People stopping up later because the kids are off. Hitting the pink gin and making tits of themselves.

I'm more convinced that they're blokes though. With not much of a life.

Agreed

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 16/08/2026 00:56

Didn’t someone a few days ago say she’d messaged one of them and they said they were sixth form students?

JaneJeffer · 16/08/2026 01:05

And if MNHQ thinks that locking registration at night is going to stop them then they are being very naive.
