FWR being trolled by a user called AidaP

Hedgehogforshort · 08/04/2026 20:35

Hi MNHQ can you please address the issue of a certain poster called AidaP who is not participating in debate he is just trolling.

to be clear this person is a trans woman who has been convicted of violence and is posting promotion of acts of violence against women elsewhere.

in particular there is one elsewhere about using a roughly hewn rolling pin to rape women.

you realy need to look in to him it is just so not on that he is being allowed to bother us here.

Well it’s just more of the tra derailing that’s so popular on here at the moment, isn’t it?

You know, that's something else they're no good at: reading cues.

There's a time and a place for the twirly moustached "mwa ha ha, it all amuses me so" shtick but it's not in a discussion a man who calls to fuck women with splintery wood. I mean, the point of that trope is to do it when discussing something that is actually conceivably funny. It simply doesn't work otherwise. It makes you look like you've walked into the wrong discussion. It's not compatible. It's embarrassing.

I can read cues, however this entire thread has jumped the shark, therefore it is open to examination. 🧐

Those who come to mock, have no bearing on the purpose of this thread. So kindly just bugger off.

The purpose of this thread is to ask Mumsnet considers where to drawn a line with posters who have maligned intent as demonstrated elsewhere.

I think uniquely this applies to a specific board ergo FWR, where many women have had experience of violent and dangerous men.

I would not wish to have a blanket ban on men on Mumsnet, and i am a member of the FSU. However there is a limit to free speach as recognised in law albeit a high bar.

I think it is entirely within mumsnet gift to ban the poster in question without risk of repercussions.

I usually tolerate the presence of people who think they are women and their handmaidens on the board as it helps for useful debate and information sources.

As an aside i think that the name Mumsnet has clear connotations that fall within the scope of the FWS SC as a service provider.

But that is not yet an avenue that would need pursuit.

i am glad of all the support.

Not to mention the most obvious point, which is that we all know full well they're not laughing at all. The ideology is in its death rattle now; the SC ruling, more court cases than I can count, the IOC finally returning to its senses, the new Finnish study and everything else. The walls are a tumbling down, everyone knows it, nobody ever believed it to begin with. As a poster said upthread, we all know this is just a massive distraction attempt.

I really am glad you've made this thread @Hedgehogforshort and I'm shocked to read that this person has been posting screenshots from here on his own SM. That really shows that MN is not a safe space. We already know that but you would hope that certain parts would be off limits.

I'm also a bit shocked that MN staff aren't concerned about this enough to do anything.

When a man who is out and proud about wishing to rape non-compliant women with a 'splintery rolling pin' is coming to post daily and frequently on women's rights threads, it is not likely to be just an innocent thing really.

I would agree.

BettyBooper · 09/04/2026 22:04

How are people banned for posting fake-but-amusing parking threads but a bloke that talks about raping women with a splintery rolling-pin seen as 'oh so hilar' on a women's forum? 🤨

And women getting out their popcorn and saying people are unhinged for pointing it out?

I'm currently on the fence re my view of a ban (I dislike bans generally) but getting popcorn out? Defending the guy? Seriously?

Hedgehogforshort · 09/04/2026 22:13

Those people are unhinged. Disordered people aren’t known for their self awareness, which may be why so many of them have apparently gravitated towards this bizarre ideology.

a) Don't assume they're women

b) The boring popcorn gifs, twirly moustaches and oh-my-aching-sides stuff is insincere performative crap by people who are so panicked by the crashing of this stupid ideology that they can't judge when you're supposed to employ that trope. It's actually a good sign, but it is hugely crass to watch, I agree. Still, good humour was never a feature of this movement.

I guess humourlessness flows from self-centeredness (is that even a word? 😀), so hardly surprising. They don't provide many laffs, and I agree with the OP.

IwantToRetire · 10/04/2026 02:04

Another option is just not to reply.

Why provide them with the opportunity to insert often meaningless posts that are meant to annoy.

It is equally within the hands of those on FWR to just NOT respond.

You know, like sending someone to Coventry.

If the person referred to then starts filling up threads with overtly malicious comments, then it more easily identifies their intent.

Endlessly letting them wind you up enough so that you then reply just provides them with an opportunity to post more of their self rewarding irrelevances.

So even if they stick on a thread they had no real interest in other than to wind FWRers up, it wont take long for everyone to just skip over anything in their name.

Each time you react, they have scored a point.

Just pass on by.

Does it concern you then that many regular contributors to FWR are, in fact, male? And have chosen either ambiguous usernames or overtly female ones to conceal the fact?

I did not e mail as a lone voice i posted here to get some support for mine and others point of view.

I'm supporting you on this. I don't like 'witch hunts' and I have read MNHQ's reply here - but this expletive is long known as a pro-trans agitator with a reasonable suspicion of violence against women. Under his usual social media handle, he's spaffing all over FWR recently, presumably for praise on whatever Discord or Signal groups he's in.

If he's hoping to provoke a real-life confrontation he'll be disappointed, but he is successfully interrupting the conversations of women talking amongst themselves. Domineering misogynists love to do that, as we know too well. It's hard to ignore their incessant drone, in real life or online. I agree that this particular drone should be removed.

If you’re talking about AidaP, maybe so. But others that are perhaps just trying to engage with the board? What you are describing is bullying behaviour.

He thinks that women with GC views should be fucked with a splintery rolling pin.

Do you mix in circles where that's a common colloquialism? Because if you do, you need better friends.

To be fair, although this person is clearly foul, I see what PP means.

If I were to say “fuck trump!” or “fuck bigots!” I’m not actually talking about the rape of trump or bigots. The rolling pin was a graphic addition but I think the point still stands.

This is how misinformation spread on the internet I guess.

This person is full of hate though and has no place on mumsnet aside from to throw abuse, completely unacceptable

Interesting point really. Others have said similar to you but I view it quite differently.

I see statements like “fuck Trump” etc to be an abbreviation of “fuck off” ie/shut up and go away.

I see statements like “fuck bigots with a splintery rolling pin” as being more specifically about wishing (or at times threatening) women with rape. I don’t think this is just a sweary way of saying “go away”.

This particular group of people (TRAs) are very fond of making rapey threats towards women - eg/I’m going to choke you with my lady dick etc - along with the more mundane, “kill all TERFs” and so on. See attached image.

This latest delightful phrase fits beautifully with the usual violent language used by TRAs and aimed squarely at women.

I think a good acid test is often whether you’d hear a woman using the phrase. Plenty of women would say “fuck X person”. I can’t think of any woman who would say “fuck X woman with a splintery rolling pin”. It’s deeply violent imagery and even when women are disagreeing strongly with one another, this isn’t the type of language they typically use. Men on the other hand…..we all know they love these types of phrases.

Bagsintheboot · 09/04/2026 11:06

There have been a few high-profile posters who post things on other SM platforms which wouldn't fly on MN. I don't really know how much that influences MNs moderation of their posts.

If they were posting that they were going to come over to MN to wind people up that would be a different matter!

I think we have to be careful not to confuse disagreement / differing views for trolling.

But he has admitted he only comes on to FWR for fun as he likes poking the “animals in the zoo”. His words. So maybe his posts should be deleted as “not in the spirit”
