We’re mostly women here, and it’s not like there might be any children walking past is it? You’ll let me post it, right? It’s a very sexy photo 🥵🥵🥵.

If the answer is no, can I ask why? Because that’s what you’re allowing to be on everyone’s screen through your absolute refusal to do anything about the Anne Summers adverts people have been complaining about since 14th December (or maybe earlier than that, I don’t know).

Shall I screenshot it, and someone can approve the photo?

Or (crazy idea) will you do something about the advert?

Well said. I do agree.. gosh it's just a lingerie ad.. more going on in the world to be bothered about.
Too many feminist on here.. those pics are in the Ann Summers shop.. well were a few months ago when l went in.
Loads of other lingerie stores use similar.
Some people need to throw away their pearls

You could have just scrolled on PAST (not pass) this thread couldn’t you?

Your spelling and grammar is atrocious btw.

LadyBlakeneysHanky · 28/12/2025 00:05

Just use Brave instead of Evil Google and say goodbye to all adverts.

i find those ads very offensive. For those saying ‘just scroll past’ in my experience you can’t scroll past. When you scroll down the screen they remain there flashing away on the right hand side of the screen for 5 mins or more then disappear for a minute then come back.

As I said previously using DuckDuckGo instead of chrome gets rid of all the ads without having to pay for premium.

Just to warn you OP and others - I complained about the Glam Muse adverts (I think that was the name) and promptly got a DM from some sleazy bloke 🤮 it seems to bring them out of the sewers…

I think some of them are on the thread 🤔

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 27/12/2025 20:18

So many users are complaining about this and I find it quite difficult impossible to believe that not one member of staff hasn’t also seen it.

Unless they all use ad blockers of course.

Do you really think staff members have to put up with adverts 😂😂

LiveToTell · 28/12/2025 00:47

ThejoyofNC · 27/12/2025 20:48

Can I ask why you find it a bargain? What's premium about it?

I wondered this - until I actually tried it. My phone was getting hot from all the thread reloading that goes on (this is due to all the many adverts) and the battery was draining so fast.

I gave in and tried it - now threads NEVER reload and my phone hasn’t been hot since, and I can go back to charging it at a normal rate.

It’s a “bargain” for someone who uses MN a lot. My phone couldn’t cope using the free version, so it was either I stopped or I pay £2.99. I don’t even notice it going out of my account and I never have any problems using MN now.

I don’t see any ads, there’s invitations to participate in surveys with a prize and product trials. Years ago, when MN nearly went under and couldn’t keep going for free, lots of us regular users donated £5 each to keep it afloat. Then they created Premium and I was more than happy to pay a small amount to a site that has meant so much to me over the 20+ years I’ve been here

bluegreygreen · 28/12/2025 10:40

Don't think there should be questionable ads, and think MNet could do more (hence following to see the response), but had managed not to see this one until a poster showed a screenshot in the thread - thanks, not.

Mistletoeiggi · 28/12/2025 10:48

Premium sounds like a good idea until you remember the data breach that has already happened and I personally do not have the confidence that it could not happen again, and would link all my posts with my rl name and address (through my payment method).

On a female-majority website, in which women whose husbands have raped and battered them write asking for help, it's not "just an ad" but a visible reminder of how women are expected to exist as bangmaids for men and not as people worthy of respect in our own right.

That’s your view. Some women wear that kind of underwear to feel good about themselves and nothing to do with men or how they view it.

and if your husband is raping and battering you then you have bigger issues in life than ad’s on a website

NormasArse · 28/12/2025 11:27

Davros · 27/12/2025 20:44

I’ve never seen it. I use the app only but pay £2.99pm for MN Premium. Bargain

I pay £4.99!!!

Wouldn’t your data be vulnerable through membership info regardless of Premium? I’m sure I used to pay £4.99 but it’s £2.99 now, I don’t know when that happened, maybe I’m getting an old folks discount. I should probably keep my trap shut in case it’s a mistake! I remember the data breach, I didn’t change my user name or do anything else and nothing happened, not a risk some would be happy to take. Hence I’ve had the same username for the 20+ years I’ve been on here

It's distasteful and very tiresome to keep seeing it.

I agree. I'm tired of these ads.
I find them annoying and wildly inappropriate.
I've never clicked on them, but still they appear.

It would be, if you use your real name and address. But you don't have to - unless you're linking to a payment card, when you do!

I think people who have to wear that tacky shit ‘to feel good about themselves’ have bigger issues in life than trying to meddle unhelpfully in this thread.

@Mistletoeiggi thanks for the explanation, it’s a long time since I registered/joined here and I never look at my account. Doh!

SweeetFannyAdams · 28/12/2025 12:56

I understand people not wanting to see these ads.

But what I don't understand is why so many people would rather get angry/upset/annoyed and keep posting about them over and over instead of paying £2.99 a month to cut the ads out?

It's less than the price of a cup of coffee a month in most places.

MNHQ don't store or process any financial or payment data themselves, it's handled by a third-party called Stripe.

JDM625 · 28/12/2025 13:04

There is clearly no vetting of adverts on this site. Months ago there was a Christmas tree decoration which was a penis wrapped in a blanket! 😕

😮

Not everyone can afford to buy a coffee when out and about. Most women who need (not want) access to this website and the wisdom of certain women tend to be using food banks or have no access to their own money. Are they not allowed to complain about adverts that objectify women?

Yeah of course not everyone can.

But let's face it, not everyone who constantly complains about the ads can't afford £2.99 a month.

For those who can, and hate the adverts so passionately, I really don't know why they don't.
