Option to see 25 posts per page has gone.

I can only see lots of posts with an option to load more.

On safari, iPhone 6, customised settings are set to 25 per page.

Has anyone actually liked this change?

MN seemed a bit confused yesterday as to why anyone wouldn’t like this new option, so I hope they’ve listened carefully to the feedback that has been given.

I thank my lucky stars I wasn’t in the test group and if they make this change permanent, I hope that we also have the choice to view it in pages format instead.

This change is horrible! I log in, I want to go to the most recent posts on a thread I’m following, and I have to scroll for three hours first to get to the bottom of the thread? No thank you!! With the 25 posts per page, I can immediately go to the last page on the thread and find the last post.

Also, I can re-find specific posts by remembering which page they were on - with all possibly 1000 posts on a single page, I can’t possibly find a specific post unless I, once again, scroll for three hours.

This is a terrible, terrible update.

Please put the pages back for me. I don't like the change at all. I don't want to be in a test group that doesn't have pages

I’d like to be removed from the test group please. As noted above, I find one single page for an entire thread to be really unpleasant to read.

I wasn’t in the test group but would not like to lose the page numbers.

I’ve always had mine set at 100 posts per page, could you just add the new format to the list of page length options so users can choose for themselves?

Please give me my page numbers back. I can’t get on without them, I keep forgetting to bookmark posts and I don’t really want to learn a new way of using the site as the old one worked fine for me.

I'm obviously in this test group too, so remove me. And I had to scroll down for ages before I got to the message box.

This reminds of the shit managers pull at work regarding new ways or systems put in place to improve how we work. It doesn't improve how we work, we're working our arses off just fine thanks if you would only leave us alone. It's just more stressful shit we have to learn and put up with, and it's sprung on us without any heads up. Note that the managers introducing these procedures don't actually have any need to use them themselves.

This type of stuff is often done by people who haven't got enough to do and are trying to justify their salaries mixed up with a bit of "hmmmm how can we really piss off people this month".

It's utterly arrogant and selfish. Put it back to how it was immediately.

It is really not on that no warning was given to this “trial.”

Please can I have pages back? It’s unusable for me without them.

Trying to catch up on a long thread in Telly Addicts, it keeps throwing me back to the top of the page. Having pages is much easier to navigate, and helps me avoid reading any spoilers!

Has the option to view numbers of posts per page disappeared from your settings?

Interestingly, no - and mine is still set to 25, but it is showing me the entire thread all on one page. SO annoying!

Let me try to make it clearer for @BeckyAMumsnet @SueMumsnet : this update is making it as if, on your Kindle, the entire book that you were reading just showed up as one single page that you had to scroll down to find the bit where you left off. No pages, no chapters, no segmentation of the enormous volume of words into smaller, more manageable chunks. It is beyond off putting.

Please get rid of the scrolling and bring back pages. You say it's supposed to make it easier- but lots of people here are telling you it absolutely does NOT make it easier.

Please remove me from the test group too. Constant scrolling is incredibly annoying, and makes the site unusable.

Hi @LuckyLerwick it’s done on a random basis. It has nothing to do with your Premium status.

We will get anyone who’s asked to be removed taken out of the test group as soon as we can. Thanks for feedback and sorry for annoyance. Lots of people find it an easier way to read threads but I understand it’s not for everyone and so, as I’ve said above, if we do roll it out, we’ll have a way for you to switch it off in settings.
