I can only see lots of posts with an option to load more.

On safari, iPhone 6, customised settings are set to 25 per page.

Im generally a fan of an endless scroll on websites, but there needs to be a jump to the bottom (like there is a jump to the top button) it’s an absolute pain in the ass, having to scroll, wait for it to load, then it jumps back up the page for some reason and then back down, I want a take me to the latest posts type button. (And no bookmark won’t work as sometimes it’s for threads I’ve just opened and I just want to read the latest)

Justnot · 24/04/2025 22:50

I don’t always log in, just read on website - if I log in I get 25 posts per page, if I don’t endless scrolling

I hate it and not happy it’s forcing me to log in

JoMumsnet · 25/04/2025 11:44

Hi @AnSolas thanks so much for your detailed reply - we appreciate you taking the time to explain.

This isn't a widespread issue on infinite scroll specifically as far as we know so in the first instance can we suggest that you clear your cookies to see if that resolves the problem. We can see that you were removed from the infinite scroll test group so it's likely that this is a cookie issue.

Do please let us know how you get on. Thanks in advance.

AnSolas · 25/04/2025 12:09

@JoMumsnet will do any i will try up date u in a dsy or 2

Divastrout · 24/05/2025 22:55

Hello
Is there no way to remove me from this constant scrolling? I really can't engage with it at all. Also yesterday I had the pages and today I am back to this constant scrolling

I hate this. It’s impossible to reach the end of a thread without the page reference.

AnSolas · 25/05/2025 01:04

Hi
Can i have the pages back please?
The load more is not working and new posts are not being displayed
Thanks

ThroughTheMirrorEmpire · 25/05/2025 16:46

Pages back please!

i do wonder about some social media though.

I barely use facebook because of the infuriating "showing you posts that are 2 weeks old in random order and the sudden refresh so that even if you are writing a reply, BAM! you are no longer where you thought you were."

And i have never found anything approaching a satisfying answer so - barely used. See also Twitter. And so now this site, which is slightly irritating in some ways, which is generally relatively ok to use is FAFFING ABOUT WITH THE USER EXPERIENCE.

So, why? Do people ask for this? or does someone in an office at the towers just think "hmm, how can we stir up the vipers today?"

Quite agree. I hate Twitter and Facebook and barely use them any more. Facebook is frustrating because it isn't customisable. You see posts from 5 years ago. Not interested in that! I want to see the
most recent posts.

On Mumsnet, the pagination provides a sense of structure. There are 1000 posts in a full thread, 40 pages. I know this and like to see it. I like to skip from one page to another, often searching back in my most-visited threads for particular posts that I recall.

Permanent scrolling is awful. It's unstable. It's like going down an endless chute with no idea when you'll hit the bottom.

It's a big NO from me. And it only started for me this afternoon! I'm so disappointed.

Please remove me from the "test" cohort which I wasn't asked about and would not agree to.

Simonjt · 28/05/2025 07:50

I can’t get rid of infinite scrolling either, when I open a thread even one I have yet to read I’m taken to a random post, rather than the last post I have read.

FranksInvisibleLlama · 28/05/2025 09:49

My pages in a long thread suddenly disappeared this morning while I was partway through reading. I thought I had done something to change the settings but they are still at 25 posts per page. I hate it and think it makes a long thread unmanageable and makes me think I won’t read anything with lots of replies again. I see there are apparently “solutions” involving bookmarks and something else that I will have to scroll back endlessly to find out, but that’s made MN so much more complicated that it’s not going to be enjoyable anymore.
This thread started in March and the no pages was apparently a test group then. Is it still? Can we still request to be removed and have pages back?

KellyMumsnet · 28/05/2025 10:38

We'll remove everyone from the test group who's asked here over the last few days.

DrinkReprehensibly · 28/05/2025 11:07

Can MNHQ indicate how long this test group is scheduled for and when a decision will be made? Also, will it be something we can choose via settings or will it be the same for everyone? Just to clarify, I don't have this feature and I'm glad I don't from what people have said and the numerous threads.

1MuffinSocks · 28/05/2025 11:12

Can I also be removed please? I really don't like it for all the reasons others have stated.

Merluzzo · 29/05/2025 10:00

Please remove me.

NotAtMyAge · 29/05/2025 15:51

I have obviously just been added to the test group, as before lunch I still had pages and now I only have infinite scrolling, which on a laptop is intolerably clumsy and slow. I mainly post on FWR and very much enjoy the discussions there, but just won't be able to follow them if I don't know where I'd got to before a break.

Dear Mumsnet, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

tinyspiny · 29/05/2025 16:02

My feedback is that it is awful and makes the site unusable

NotAtMyAge · 29/05/2025 16:22

@inkymoose
In sheer desperation I've been messing about with the talk settings and discovered that the option for 50 posts per page still works and gives me pages. It's clunkier than 25 per page, but infinitely preferable to endless scrolling until Mumsnet HG gets round to restoring my original settings

Oooh thanks @NotAtMyAge ! Very useful to know 🙂

purpleme12 · 29/05/2025 17:34

I hate it

I've clicked on threads and where I've realised it's one continuous page I've not bothered reading
And I would have carried on reading before

I don't want this continuous page at all

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/05/2025 11:02

This is.not a good thing.
Can you please restore my 25posts per page?

Helleofabore · 31/05/2025 07:50

Can you please remove me from infinite scroll too.

I have tried to change it through settings and it will not change back to 25 per page.

And my post colour choice also will not stay as per my settings. The colour is initially my colour choice but then reverts to bright pink after I come back to the thread.

sundaysunday2024 · 31/05/2025 08:50

Argh can I be removed from this test group please!!

Was trying to read the RATW thread and ended up having to scroll through 900+ posts. Didn't know there was a top/bottom option as it was well hidden

LivMumsnet · 31/05/2025 16:24

Afternoon everyone - thanks to everyone who has given feedback. Anyone who has asked to be removed from the test group up until this post, we've noted this down and hopefully this will be sorted next week. Thanks in advance for your patience with this.

nikkim1990 · 31/05/2025 20:52

Please remove me from this group. I like to keep threads open on my phone to dip into and the infinite scroll means I end up back at the start of the thread whenever the page reloads and I lose my place!
