We’re excited to introduce a new feature that makes browsing trending content on mobile devices easier.

Now, when you're reading a thread, simply swipe left to move directly to the next trending discussion. If you’re enjoying discovering new threads, keep swiping, and you’ll continue to see the latest trending topics effortlessly.

When you visit a thread for the first time, you will see a message on the right hand side explaining how to use the new feature. If you select ‘Got it’, you will not see it again. If you choose to ignore it, you will see it 3 times before it disappears.

This feature is designed to help you explore popular conversations more easily while keeping the experience smooth and seamless.

We will be staggering the release of this, so some of you may not have access to the feature today, but if you don’t, don’t worry you will very soon!

We’d love to hear your feedback or answer any questions—feel free to share them below!

@HebeMumsnet @BeckyAMumsnet

I hate this feature too. When trying to copy and paste a word or a paragraph to quote it swipes instead of allowing me to highlight where I want to copy.

Can we please have a way to turn this feature off. I have never used this on a website because it always seems a pointless time wasting feature for long form content. It is far more time effective for me to scroll down a list. I am sure it might be attractive to some people who like or who have the time to spend swiping through threads. I would much rather spend the time I do spend here engaging though rather than swiping through full screen views of OPs.

I got a new phone (Pixel 9) and it's still doing it. So it's not an outdated software problem.

I want to turn it off. It's driving me round the bend

Helleofabore · 12/02/2025 21:00

Yes. Can we turn it off?

BlackOrangeFrog · 12/02/2025 21:02

Still doesn't even show for me 🤣🤣

Seems to have gone super-sensitive again! 😡

Sadly this feature has now been rolled out to me. Just want to confirm, I would like an option to switch it off.

BlackOrangeFrog · 19/02/2025 19:18

Come on @Mnhq it's been 4 months of requests to turn it off ...

I am hating this feature, so many times this evening k have been 'ejected' from the page I am reading and when I back page it puts me two pages back instead of where I left off. I am fed up of this feature and want to turn it off all ready. I have given up on several threads I was enjoying already because of it.it means o can only only scroll with my right hand because using my left switches it to the next page. It is driving me mental! Please introduce a wee ay to switch this off! Thankyou.

Same. I came here to see what the issue was as thought it was a bug vs a ‘feature.’

I was trying to highlight text to copy and paste it and of course, the minute I move my finger to the left it does this, but I didn’t know why until now.

It reminds me of a website I’d really rather not to be reminded of, the Daily Mail.

I thought it was just me. Yes it is far too sensitive and we should be able to choose to turn it off.

GinLimeandLemonade · 15/03/2025 21:54

Still here and still very irritating 🤦‍♀️

BlackOrangeFrog · 16/03/2025 07:43

Still never had this 😂
