This thread is in site stuff and it is primarily about how MN is responding to a large influx of far right agitators. There are plenty of other threads where you can talk about violence and riots.

Want an avoidance of doubt? There are two pogroms today. One is ongoing in Tamworth. There are checkpoints in Middlesbrough letting only white drivers through. There are brown and black people being kicked in the head. There are places of workship being targeted, arson, swastikas daubed on walls.

Well, if this is a minority sentiment even on Mumsnet then we are in more trouble than even I feared. DH (a lawyer) has just told me that apparently the police are aware of a plan for more ‘action’ tomorrow night across the country with immigration lawyers being targeted.

I am terrified for my loved ones, and especially friends and colleagues of colour in this climate. As for the internet, I'm a hardened www user and frequented the old-style chatrooms, which attracted all manner of very disturbed people and behaviour, and make even AIBU look like baby-play by comparison.

But this has got beyond even me this week. I'm off work and taking DC to the local lido this afternoon (thankfully nowhere near a city centre). Right now I feel that I need to get my head right out of this space and have something of a digital detox.

@SerafinasGoose Totally agree. I used to use old school Bulletin Boards where there were the most bizarre and batshit postings.
It is nothing in comparison to the out and out racism and nastiness on MN this last week.
I fear for some of my family and I am beyond shocked that my DDs workplace is closing tomorrow because of a plan by ignorant thugs picking that area to bombard. I am just glad they have the foresight to close the offices and tell everyone to WFH and I hope she has an office to go back to after.
