@Maddy70 I'm wondering if you can try using the mobile site rather than the app? I hear nothing good said about the app, tbh.

On my phone I can use the three dots ( ... ) at the top right of any post to open a little menu that includes 'Go To Top'. I click on that, and then when at the top there's a contraction of the opening post visible, with the option to click on two small arrows to expand to to its full glory. I do use this occasionally when I want to check back to what the OP actually said.

Even worse would be someone just posting 'F' which I believe is a Facebook abbreviation used to follow a thread. You can easily follow a thread on MN by clicking the button at the top of the thread! No need to post on it at all.

It does terrible things to my blood pressure.

I wondered why this was suddenly happening again… it’s the banner in the middle of the thread: “if you are interested in this thread you might like these too” or whatever it says. And links to threads the MN search engine has dredged up from 2009.

In the interests of pushing up traffic the site is becoming unusable.

And the constant page reloads still aren’t sorted.

Please,please do this.

Why are people so bothered by this 🤷 Sometimes when posters don’t quote there are odd misinterpretations of replies. I think that’s why people do it and do I can live with that
