Why did the "Lisa Johnson One to Many" thread get deleted?

PermanentIyExhaustedPigeon · 19/03/2024 18:26

I've seen the deletion message but don't understand why the comments that broke talk guidelines couldn't have been deleted and the rest of the thread left to stand.

Lisa Johnson claims that she had it removed because she put pressure on MN to do so.

Can anyone from MNHQ clarify please?

On Lisa's YouTube. There is a whole playlist of interviews and success stories

Well let's see. Jade the sleep nanny who left a YouTube success story - is an affiliate of Lisa's!

Jade is happy to promote Lisa's Race To Recurring Revenue course, without mentioning that she makes money, possibly hundreds of pounds, from the affiliate link... Very naughty.

I mean, I think I'll stop now. You get the picture. Find a "success story" on Lisa's website, or an endorsement on her YouTube channel, look them up on Facebook, and sure enough... they are an affiliate for Lisa Johnson, but aren't mentioning that they make money if you follow their link to sign up to her course.

And it's all centralised, they all had the same posts, clearly sent to them by Lisa's team.

She declares it's an affiliate link, and that she is an affiliate which she is legally required to do. There is no legal requirement for affiliates to disclose their commission amounts.

That's how an affiliate launch works. People will provide the copy for them to post. This isn't exclusive to Lisa's affiliate launch

Of course that’s how affiliate works.
And she has built a pretty good system, no doubt about that.

What is always more of an issue is when it’s only the affiliates that get some limelight.
1- because why shouldn’t all the other successful students from her course also benefit from the exposure. Many other coaches do exactly that.
2- Because it feels like a skewed image of the reality. Personally that puts me off. Even more so when I have followed some students of her course (that I personally knew before) and saw them struggling and getting nowhere.

If I’m buying a course as someone just starting in business, I’d much prefer to see relatable cases. People like me who started from scratch and build a reasonable business. Not the £1million type.

Other students were given exposure. There are success stories from people who weren't affiliates - but posters aren't pointing that out as it doesn't fit the narrative of the thread. They want people to assume that every success story interview was an affiliate - that is factually incorrect

whatsitcalledwhen · 21/03/2024 15:15

@Gettingbackagain

Did you really make £10k (profit or turnover?) in one week? How does that compare to your usual weekly profit / turnover?

You can't tell if they're affiliates or not until you dig deep. I haven't found one that isn't yet.

GiddyGoldHam · 21/03/2024 15:23

I was just looking at Lisa's website. I remember my accountant sending me a list of legal requirements for a ltd company. One of them was that you had to put your ltd company info on your website and other places https://www.gov.uk/running-a-limited-company/signs-stationery-and-promotional-material
I wonder why Lisa isn't doing this, given that it's a legal requirement. I can't find these details on her site anywhere, or am I missing it?

I was told that same if you're VAT registered and sell online. I can't verify this on the gov website but I found this https://www.contractstore.com/blog/business-contracts/what-legal-information-is-required-on-a-website-in-the-uk/#:~:text=Registered%20office%20address%3A%20The%20address,customers%20to%20contact%20the%20company.

I don't get it. If you emphasise that you're full of integrity why would you not comply with your legal obligations?

So because you haven't found one you are going to imply they are all affiliates. Thought this thread was suppose to stick to facts.

I've already found four that weren't affiliates.

Could you link to them? As I couldn't find many more vids. Thanks.

All the videos are on Lisa's Youtube. Eyden, Rowe, Tynan, Wayne the carpenter who was on the lunch and learn. Not affiliates.

I’m glad you’ve had a positive experience.

I think what some of us are alarmed by is the overwhelming positivity, which may or may not be exaggerated, and how negativity seems shut down and silenced. I saw comments disappear on Facebook, so not everyone who works with her sings her praises. Certainly there needs to be a space somewhere for that which won’t be taken down. The last thread had some which were valuable to read.

I do think Lisa Johnson cares about people, but I don’t like a lot of her sales practices and so I won’t work with her. But curious to hear opinions of OTM away from the buzz (which I couldn’t stand in RRR).

Axx · 21/03/2024 15:39

@LurkingLark if you joined after seeing the other thread, that was only one week ago.

@Gettingbackagain I'm actually really happy to hear this and I'm glad you're in a better place.

Although I didn't agree with lots of things that Lisa did (in my opinion she didn't always act with integrity - she has a different definition of the word to me I think) I did admire her achievements and what she'd done. However the whole "lowlife" statement showed a whole different side to her for me. I'm interested to know what you think about her saying that? It made me wonder what she says about people/clients when other people aren't listening. And that she kept it up on her FB page for so long almost like a badge of honour. I'd be mortified and would have apologised if was me.

You hit the nail on the head @LurkingLark Any "negativity" is shut down so it's not possible to get an unbiased view. And the "negativity" is usually just questions but not the right kind of question that Lisa likes. Such as "is it possible to verify what this person says they're earning after completing OTM because Companies House doesn't reflect that."
It's a chance for Lisa to say "yeah really good question and glad you're doing your due diligence because I always recommend that before handing money over. This is why Companies House says this blah, blah, blah"

But as per the last thread, the poster said that that particular question was deleted and she was blocked. This is not the way!

I was going to say that I don't understand why she doesn't set up on Trustpilot. But given how anything appears to be deleted/shut down that she doesn't like, it makes sense. The thing is, out of 1000's of people who have gone through her courses, surely there have to be some who wouldn't rave. I'd love to see more balanced reviews.

GiddyGoldHam · 21/03/2024 16:05

Can anyone point me in the direction of Lisa's TedX talk? She has it listed (attached) but I can't find it.

A number of coaches have a "non-disparagement" clause in their Ts and Cs - ie you can't say anything bad about them publicly.

I don't know if that's the case with LJ specifically - and I don't know if it's actually enforceable in the UK (it's an import from all the US coaches)

I’m really confused do all you people know Lisa and have seen her work?

I do know her and I’m a student of hers and I have joined OTM, I’m not coming on here making saying I’m making millions or even hundred of thousands yet as this is a new business for me however I have made more in my business than any salary I would have earned in a “job” from the lessons Lisa has taught me if anyone wants to see a snap shot of my account privately message me and I’ll happily show you. The course OTM has so many success stories and I’ll tell you what I’ll do as I go through the programme I’ll happily come on here over the next 6 months to share the success and how I’m getting on honestly

But more importantly than that, Lisa is a genuinely nice, beautiful lovely person who does not deserve some of the things being commented on this thread

How would any of you like it if People were speaking so negatively about you, it’s not nice

It is always a HUGE own goal for any business person to react emotionally and start threatening and insulting people who dont think your product or service is very good.

All you are ever viewed as after that is unprofessional.

It is important to not go on the attack. You just cannot behave like that or you will tank your business. You have to accept criticism and take an honest look at your company and see where you can make changes.

Being able to accept criticism and learn from it makes people feel more confident in your company. Responding with threats, insults or aggression never will. People will always remember your company as oh, that's the one with the woman who had a tantrum and said/did x,y, z.

Not good. Not good at all.
