Why did the "Lisa Johnson One to Many" thread get deleted?

PermanentIyExhaustedPigeon · 19/03/2024 18:26

I've seen the deletion message but don't understand why the comments that broke talk guidelines couldn't have been deleted and the rest of the thread left to stand.

Lisa Johnson claims that she had it removed because she put pressure on MN to do so.

Can anyone from MNHQ clarify please?

@Nik73 It's lovely that you're defending Lisa. But you posting is leading to replies, which in turn brings more people into the thread and so perpetuates the very thing you don't like.

Anyway I hear that Lisa made a video in which she is delighted that there is a thread about her because someone she admires told her something along the lines of only great people, or people doing great things have threads about them 😂 Erm I'm sure there are lots of great people out there doing great things that don't have threads talking about their lack of integrity and tendency to delete anything negative about them. But if it makes Lisa feel better to believe that, then 🤷‍♀️

@HappyScroller
It isn't a wild accusation to suggest that the last thread was deleted because towards the end, people were saying things which encouraged others to make personal attacks.

That's a well-known tactic on here. MNHQ doesn't permit personal attacks, so goading people to make them, and thus derailing a thread, is a good way of getting that thread deleted.

Nobody was accusing LJ of trolling.

OriginalOP · 26/03/2024 12:43

Not an accusation at all, and certainly not trolling.

It was an observation, and a musing on the situation.

Plus, supporters of Lisa are perfectly capable of acting independently, not at her behest.

Many of them have posted on both threads in her support and I'm sure that was not at her request but of their own doing.

Please don't put words in my mouth.

Maybe we should all just caaaaaaalm down, so this thread can stay up.

Lovely to hear that Lisa has made a film about us though! Bows and accepts applause

Ooh. Where can we watch it?

Adhdorlazy · 26/03/2024 20:54

I’ve just read up on her online. Lots of chat about how she made millions working around her day job, but I still don’t know what she actually sells?

is it online courses?

I still don't know what she sells, after two whole threads.

Geebray · 26/03/2024 21:16

She teaches people to create time-limited courses like hers. Also to sell subscriptions, such as subscription boxes. It all seems to revolve around "bonuses" and "sales funnels" and Facebook groups where everyone is a cheerleader.

A lot of the people who take her course seem to end up being her affiliates, or coaching others on how to create courses like her one. It's all very circular.

Maybe you should take some time to see what her company actually does ... rather than spout out narrow, flippant comments which illustrate you either have no idea what she does, or you're determined to paint her and her company in a poor light. Her company runs all kinds of courses.

Yeah, anybody can pay for that accreditation. It's not a big deal.

I was talking about her One To Many course.

A lot of it seems to end up with coaches coaching coaches on how to run coaching courses.

It's not about business, as such, it's about selling information on how to run a business. Hence her describing herself as "Passive Income Queen". You've got a business, or interest? Sell courses on that! Create sales funnels! Make Facebook groups! Offer amazing signup "bonuses" whose value is pulled out of the air!

Now, let's not start with personal attacks, shall we? That would be most unfair, wouldn't it @BeMorePositive ?

One To Many - Courses | The CPD Certification Service (cpduk.co.uk)

Many, many courses... Some on Facebook advertising, and AI Innovation. Two things that are pretty fast moving and specialised. And she's asking thousands of pounds for them, to become "certified" by her strategy company... 🤔

That sounds like a few content creators I've seen online with the line about having a passive income as a homemaker/not having to work outside the home/work around your children. It seems to involve people with courses telling other people how to run courses.

Still, you can go for a lovely inspiring trip with her to Las Vegas, which doesn't raise feelings of MLM at all!

To retreat or not to retreat? That is the question. - That Strategy Co

Let’s address the MLM ‘accusation’ shall we, as you and others seem to throw of out there every so often.

Firstly, the training offered by That Strategy Co is not based on the MLM model. You have already stated yourself you’ve not had personal experience of attending one of their courses, I on the other hand do have personal experience and have declared that. So I speak from a position of experience.

Secondly, MLM is a direct selling marketing strategy employed by many reputable companies. I would bet there are many people on this Mumsnet platform making a living, or additional income from MLM. To ‘diss’ their way of working is to insult them. So let’s not do that.
